Made a fantasy style map for amphoreus because it’s such a cool world and its shame we barely saw any of it

Very long yap below about inspirations and geography be warned.

This was made by me piecing together all the mentions I could find of the 40 odd named cities in amphoreus, describing locations (like on the coast in in the mountains etc) and their relation to other cities (ie city A is north of city B), and putting it together s bit like a puzzle. Many cities don’t have anything like that about them so so a lot of this is largely made up. The only place that deliberately differs is Aidonia I have placed in the south rather than the north as it is described because I thought it would be more interesting this way. You may notice the shape of the islands is roughly similar to that of real world Greece. Placements of some cities is inspired by Ancient Greece too, like okhema and Kremnos mirroring Athens and Sparta. Almost all cities are placed either along major rivers or on coasts, as water is incredibly important for civilisations, and water based transport was the best and easiest at the time, especially for things like trade.

The “sea of souls” and “end of the west wind” as afterlife sort of concepts if they were to be given physical location I would put them at the far east side, as a west wind is one blowing from west to east. It would also place a theoretical sea of souls closest to Styxia, the city that was swallowed by it eventually.

Now for more realistic geography, it’s definitely not perfect and some “fantasy liberties” will be taken but I’m also a geography student (of sorts) so I have a good idea of what I’m talking about and also aim to be somewhat realistic. I’m imagining this as sort of a mini planet, with poles and an equator and climates to match. However it would be much smaller scale than earth, and much milder overall, with the whole planet feeling more like Europe. The extreme north and south are obviously the coldest, the middle is the warmest, and the “tropics” 30 degrees north and south would have the highest biodiversity. Fitting for a forest for Cerces.

Again it’s not perfect, I cba to think about plate tectonic mountain formation but yk whatever nobody but me cares this much lol

Also! Decorations round the edge are supposed to be city/ruling family crests, guess which is which hahaha
