We think the Grand Prix is the best time to strike. The clubs are at their busiest, making it the most lucrative period of the year for our boss. This is our chance to threaten that income and affect them when it hurts the most. During this time, despite management making more money, dancers have to put up with a list of new rules, increased bar fees, overbooking and generally worse working conditions. Even though some people make good money during the Grand Prix, the fact that our bosses schedule more workers than usual makes it harder for us to earn. This overbooking happens without the needed extra security to look out for these workers, resulting in increased violence against the dancers during these busy and chaotic times. Additionally, bar fees are increased exorbitantly during F1 and new arbitrary rules are often heavily enforced with exploitative penalty fees attached. In 2025, one club in Montréal charged $110 per night for the five nights of F1. At an average of 60 girls a night (which is on the low end) this club made approximately $33 000 alone on the dancers walking through the door. This is not including late fees and penalty fees that these dancers may have been forced to pay as well. The bar fee model is an exploitative practice that only benefits the bosses.  F1 is not only a symbolically important time for a sex work strike, but also a materially important time. We must disrupt these exploitative labour practices where our management employs them the heaviest, and profits from them the most. It is up to us as dancers to fight these managerial abuses collectively and fight for the working conditions that we deserve!  It’s also the time of the year that we will get the most media coverage! It’s become common practice for sex worker exclusionary feminists–also know as SWERFS–to use F1 to promote their anti-sex work agendas and saviorism. Our strike is the occasion to bring up a counter-discourse that sex workers have agency and power as people and workers. While we acknowledge the violences in our workplaces, we believe that we should fight back through workers’ action, rather than letting the state decide for us.

cancelling gen v, a show with a diverse, interesting, and deeply endearing cast, in favor of a show that will be dripping in hatred and poorly thought out jokes, just shining more light onto perspectives that do not deserve to be platformed/sympathized within such a terrible political climate.

gen v would’ve been a much better investment, and you can’t deny the blatant racism in cancelling an unfinished show with a black queer woman as the lead, while platforming a very famous white male actor instead.

eric kripke’s lame ass cope is not going to absolve the blatant abandonment of a massive set up to events in the story for no good reason. unless somehow this show sets up a bunch of narrative foreshadowing to marie’s existence and sets up an entire new show w the gen v characters then i rlly don’t want to hear it.

so disappointed, i really loved this show, i hope this spurs creativity in myself and the fandom, its what it deserves :)

literally haven’t come back to this blog for s5 because it has been such a disappointing whiteman trailer for vought rising like. i could get into feminism gripes but it’s better if we don’t y’all see it too :D i just can’t believe how diluted this show is now mannn my favorite showww.

cut off existing and adored characters like emma meyers and jordan li just to force new and completely unwanted (except for *jensen glazers) characters down our throats instead. genuinely curious who gaf that much about seeing, as you said, this version of our universe; in the 40s/50s with SB-level racism and sexism and every other ism. in this political climate. where everyday americans experience it already 10x over every single day (seriously who wants this show??)

*also not saying anything bad about jensen lol he’s great, but undeniably his fandom and fame itself is a large factor into why we are getting the vought rising show. reminder we met this mf season 3 and did not see him all s4 🫩 i just don’t care for SB like at all
