When Bobby had announced to them that he was going to be hiring an assistant to take of some of the workload in handling their needs, they hadnât thought much of it.
He was just hiring an assistant whoâd essentially be taking over Bobbyâs job of keeping them stocked on snacks and drinks during practice, and whatever else they might need for a short time while Bobby focused on an increasingly busy executive side of the job.
They had figured that youâd be a brief addition to their life, but overall unimpactful. It wasnât as if you were replacing Bobby.
The three had been in the dance room of their tower, taking a break from practicing new choreography when there was a light knock on the door, Bobby calling out to them was their only warning. The door opened; they looked upâ
And the world stuttered.
Standing behind Bobby was someone they had never seen before. They couldnât have, they would have remembered if theyâd seen you.
A nervous smile was stretched across a gentle face, your expression so bright it was almost unfair. They hadnât even realized Bobby was talking, but when you began to speakâthey tuned in.
âIâm excited to work with you,â your voice was so soft with the hint of hesitation. âI promise Iâll do my best to support you in any way I can.â
You were cute. There was no other way to really put it.
Mira stared at you, forgetting how to speak for a moment, and across from her Zoey blinked, long and slow, her water bottle slipping from her fingers.
Rumi was the only one able to keep it together, it seemed. âWeâre excited too!â she said, the words coming out a bit too loudly, a bit too quickly. She cleared her throat, trying to salvage her composure. âI mean, itâs nice to meet you, we look forward to working with you.â
Clapping his hand, Bobby smiled wide, clearly pleased by how easily his girls had accepted this new addition to the group. Now that introductions were done, heâd leave the three back to practice and show you around the rest of the tower.
It was then that Mira found her voice. ââOr, you could stay for practice.â
âYeah! Bobby, she can stay with us,â Zoey added quickly, a wide, excited grin spreading across her face. âYou had all that scheduling issues you were talking about, she can stick around and lend us a hand in your place.â
It was a suggestion that Bobby, as typical of him, had readily agreed. But it was your response that had struck them right in the heart.
You had smiled, warm and radiant, âJust let me know what you need and Iâm on it.â
While you and Bobby had stepped off to the side to work out the details of what youâd be doing while he was gone, the girls had watched quietly. The sun had filtered in through the window, catching your face just right, giving you an appearance of a divine glow while you kept smiling.
Zoey latched on the other girls arms, tugging Rumi and Mira closer to her, a silent âare you seeing this?!â
Once Bobby had left the room, you had taken a seat on the bench to the side, far enough to not get in the way of their training.
As the music picked back up, they went back to practicing, putting in even more effort than beforeâperhaps they wanted to show off, impress you a little. You certainly seemed impressed, watching them with wide, awe-filled eyes that left their chest buzzing with warmth.
You watched them with rapt attention. Any time they paused to rest; you sprung to your feet and were there handing out bottles of water, energy bars, and towels. Whatever they needed, even before they said they needed it.
It didnât take long for practice itself to fall to the wayside in favor of talking to you. They were curious to get to know you, hoped you were curious about them, too.
You were attentive, you were polite and unbearably sweet. Every word that fell out of your mouth was effortlessly endearing.
A wordless agreement had rippled through the group.
They could not fumble this.
You integrated into their lives seamlessly, and as the days melted into weeks and into months, it was as if you had always been a part of their dynamic.
At first you had just been there for them during practice and rehearsal. But practice rarely lasted. More often, it devolved into Zoey cracking jokes that made you muffle your laughter behind your sleeve, or Mira and Rumi asking questions about your interests and then listening, spellbound, when you launched into passionate explanations on the topic.
The way that your eyes lit up when you spokeâit didnât matter what it was you were talking about, when you looked like that while talking, it became the most captivating subject in the universe.
And then, before they knew it, you had become part of their lives outside of work, too.
âTheyâre so cute when they get excited,â Rumi whispered one night as she curled up on the couch, cuddling up against Mira, and watching as you and Zoey were in an animated discussion by the kitchen island about video games.
Miraâs arms tightened around Rumiâs waist, âI know,â she admitted under her breath, watching as you playfully shoved Zoey aside, face flushed with laughter.
The three were not subtle, not in the slightest, when it came to their interest in you.
Zoey took every opportunity she had to be close to you. Brushing against you every time she walked by, hugging you whenever she saw you, throwing her arm across your shoulder and draping herself against you as she talked. She needed to be near you, needed to touch you
For Mira, who was always more reluctant to let those outside of her immediate circle close physically, she found herself offering you her jacket when the weather turned, and giving you her water when it got hot. Her chest fluttering as she watched you drink from it without question, doing everything she could to not think of it as an indirect kiss. Had to try desperately hard not to think about how your mouth had been on it when she took a drink from the bottle later.
And Rumi? She took every chance and every excuse she could to be with you one-on-one. She was going out to get coffee or lunch; would you like to join? She wanted to visit the mall for some shopping and would like an extra pair of arms and a second opinion if youâd like to come. She can buy you anything and everything you might want, too, sheâs more than happy to spoil you in whatever way she can.
It was obvious to anyone who looked, their staff and crew had clocked it almost immediately. The three were desperately trying to court the sweet, radiant assistant whoâd been thrown into their lives.
The downside?
You never noticed.
If you did, you never let on. You were respectful, you were grateful. But as far as you seemed to know, their intentions were only ever friendly.
âYou know, you donât need to keep inviting me,â you had said as you began gathering your things, preparing to head back home for the night once your conversation with Zoey had died out. âI know you donât get that much free time as it is, Iâd hate to be intruding on what little time you do have to spend on couple-things between the you three.â
So sweet and considerate, worried that you were taking up the free time they would have devoted to each other, unaware of how desperately they wanted to devote that time to you, too. You truly were perfect, and you didn't even realize it.
Rumi leaned forward from where she sat, a knowing smile playing at her lips, âYouâre not intruding, I promise,â was that a purr to her voice?
âWe like having you around,â Zoey agreed, a little too fast as she wrapped an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into a tight hug. âYouâre so much fun to be with!â
You blinked, then smiled, cheeks glowing a soft pink, âOh. IâI like being around you guys, too.â
Rumi nearly melted on the spot; Mira had to nudge her to stop their leader from whimpering. It wasnât fair how cute you looked with that sort of soft expression.
It only got worse from there.
While Zoey and Mira were having a date night between the two of them, Rumi had tried to make her move and invited you to dinner. A date of her own, a date with you.
A dinner at a nice, upscale restaurant; candlelight, expensive wine, and good food. She had thought that even if you didnât catch on to the invitation, the clearly romantic atmosphere would do the trick.
It had been going great, or so Rumi had thought. She had been absolutely smitten as you two chatted, soaking up ever smile and laugh you gave her, pinning to memory the way your eyes would light up. Sheâd reached out to hold your hand and you hadnât thought twice about the gesture.
When the night ended and you were standing outside the elevator leading up to the penthouse, Rumi had prepared to finish this already wonderful date with a kiss. Then you had to ruin it with that adorable smile and lovable laugh.
âThanks again for inviting me out,â you had said softly, and Rumi wanted to melt at how nice your gentle voice felt. âItâs so nice to get dinner with your friends now and then, isnât it?â
And with that, her smile cracked.
Dinner with friends. Friends. Right, no, you were totally right, it had been a wonderfully nice platonic dinner, Rumi hadnât invited you out for any other sort of reason, no siree, friendship was all there was to it.
Once she was in the penthouse, she had spent a good long time screaming into her pillow.
You should have started to pick up on things when Zoey began commandeering your hoodies.
It was Zoey, after all, she was notorious for stealing her girlfriendsâ sweaters and hoodies all the time. She had even said during interviews that before she got together with Rumi and Mira that she started âborrowingâ their clothes as an early sign that she liked them. So obviously it should work on you.
One of your hoodies had been left draped over the back of a chair when youâd left the tower to do a grocery run for the girls. When youâd returned, Zoey was wearing it, looking pleased as could be, especially when she caught you staring.
âIsnât that mine?â you had asked, setting the bags down on the counter.
Zoey lifted her chin, her grin growing sharp. âYep,â she said proudly, snuggling deeper into the hoodie, âItâs so comfy, and it smells like you.â
The meaning was as subtle as a thrown brick.
You had blinked at her. âOh,â and Zoey kept watching, her grin growing as she waited. Even you couldnât misinterpret thatâ âYou should have said something sooner, I can send you the detergent I use, or maybe the body wash? Theyâre new brand Iâm trying, so Iâm glad to know someone else likes the scent.â
Oh, come on!
Zoey wasnât going to say no, but seriously? Seriously?!
âŠshe was not giving back the hoodie.
For her part; Mira had tried to be direct. She had tried to be blunt about her feelings and intentions so that you had no room to doubt.
The plan had been simple; take you out on a nice afternoon date, with her bringing you some flowers just to start things off with a more romantic mood. Theyâd take a little walk around the park just enjoying the quiet and each otherâs company, and at the end, sheâd tell you that sheâand the othersâwanted to date you. There would be no room for ambiguity.
It was at that pivotal moment that Mira stood before. âI lââ
Right as she began speaking, a truck drove past, itâs horn deafening loud and muffling everything Mira had been trying to say under its noise.
You had smiled patiently at her, head tilted to the side in that adorable fashion of yours that always made her heart do flips. âSorry, I couldnât catch that?â
As frustrated as Mira was over the interruption, she went for the second attempt. Taking in a deep breath, she schooled her features and took your hand in hers. âI want you and I toââ
Only to be cut off, again, by the ungodly loud cries of a flock of geese flying by at that exact moment. Their screams drowning out her words.
Don't lose your cool, Mira. Take a deep breath and try again. "Would you liâ"
As if the universe itself was against her, she was cut off again, this time by the Honmoon itself as it rippled a vicious purple. Moments later her phone was blowing up with calls from Rumi and Zoey.
Great. Wonderful. Perfect.
ââI have to go, but weâll continue this later!â
She left you there, probably confused by her sudden retreat, as Mira raced to meet up with her girls and find the tear. Fuming and frustrated.
If she was a bit more violent with the demons in that fight than usualâthat was no oneâs business but her own.
It didn't stop there.
Late one evening, you had mentioned offhandedly that you hadnât eaten anything yet that day, too busy to do so was your excuseâone they would not stand for when you had made sure none of them had skipped a meal during practice that dayâand immediately Rumi was dragging you off to their favorite restaurant. Mira ordered for all four of you, and every time you looked away from your plate, Zoey snuck more and more sweets onto it.
The girls insisted on taking you home when the nights got late, one on either side like a guard dog, each of your hands being held. Glaring at anyone who got too close to you, who showed a little interest in you.
Some nights they didnât even let you go back to your own apartment. âItâs so late,â Zoey would complain, dangling off you so you couldn't walk away. âJust spend the night here, we donât mind,â Mira would say, already pulling out blankets and pillows for the cuddle pile that would be formed in the living room.
Kisses on the cheek were the norm now, theyâve lost count of how often theyâve they told you âI love you, so, so much.â You would always respond with a laugh, âI love you girls too, I feel so lucky to be your friend.â
But most of all; your delighted expression over being included anytime they invited you out sent the girls spiraling into silent fits. You were adorable. You were perfect. You were so fucking dumb. What were they to do?
And even so, you had remained oblivious to their flirting.
âI hate this,â Zoey complained as she collapsed into bed, sprawling across Mira and Rumi as she buried her face into the blankets. âIâm trying my best to be as flirty as I can, and she just looks at me and goes, âwow, youâre such a good friend, Zoey,â Like, I'm over here trying to be more than a friend! I'm trying to get in your pants!"
She had stolen so many of your sweaters and hoodies by this point that half of her closet might as well have been yours. But any time you saw her in one of them, you barely acknowledge it. She was using every pickup line in the book, had dropped ever sexual innuendo she could at your feet, and you treated it as some silly joke.
At this point, Zoey was convinced that she could throw herself on you, tell you just how badly she needed you in the most carnal ways imaginableâand youâd think she was just being silly and talking nonsense.
Mira snorted, âYou make it sound like youâre just interested her body,â she said, grabbing Zoey and dragging her up to hold against herself. âUnlike you, it seems, I actually want to date her.â
âI want to date her, too!â
âNone of us are going to date her if we canât claw our way out of the friendzone,â Rumi grumbled. She was still a little miffed over her last romantic overture.
She had sent you several bouquets of flowers and boxes of chocolates through express delivery, had written you the sappiest, most romantic poem she could put to words. Rumi had felt she truly channeled her inner Sappho writing it.
Then you had texted her [Thank you so much for the flowers and chocolates! I really appreciate everything you do, too! đ]
Rumi had wanted to hide away and never be seen again.
âI donât know how much longer Iâm going to be able to hold out,â Zoey said dramatically, back of her hand pressed to her forehead as she collapsed in Miraâs hold. âI want to kiss her so badly the wait is going to kill me.â
âAt least you might have a chance to kiss her,â Mira muttered, pressing a kiss to Zoeyâs head. âI swear, every time I try and tell her, I get interrupted. Just the other day I tried to tell her how badly I wanted to kiss her, but before I could get two words out, Bobby was calling because of some emergency and he needed her ASAP.â
She had to be cursed for how much the world seemed to be intent on stopping her from being able to confess anything to you. Mira didnât know whether to laugh, scream, or cry over the fact.
Rumi groaned, leaning over to join Mira and Zoeyâs cuddle, âWe just⊠we need to take her on a date, and make it impossible for her not to realize itâs a date.â
âWeâve tried that,â Mira countered dryly. âWeâve been doing that for months, and you can see how well that's worked out.â
âWell what else can we do? Weâve been trying to be direct, and itâs not working.â
As Mira and Rumi continued to argue, Zoey began scrolling through her phone between them, looking idle in posture, but entirely focused on the task.
It was as the bickering reached its peak that she raised her phone up between them like a torch. âIâve got it!â Sheâd figured it out, the date to put an end to all this desperate yearning, the date that even you couldnât misunderstand.
A week later the plan was in motion, and they were visiting the aquarium.
It had started off strong. The girls had picked you up from your apartment, giving you a bouquet of what the florist had assured them was the most romantic flowers, and you had accepted them with rosy cheeks and a laugh that should be considered a weapon for the kind of damage it did to their willpower.
Zoey had taken your hand in hers for the first part of the date, leading you around the aquarium on routes she had long-since memorized to heart.
She was talking excitedly about the different exhibits and the different fish, sharing every obscure fact she knew about each fish. And you just listened with that smile of yours, making it known she had your full attention, asking questions in return, making her feel heard in a way very few ever did.
Rumi and Mira had followed, taking turns on who was on your other side, but all three were huddling close to you. Always gravitating around you.
They spent more time looking at your expressions, the soft smiles and the way your eyes would light up with joy, than they did at the fish.
You were so beautiful, so sweet, you were barely doing anything, and it had all three swooning.
And all things considered, they thought the date had been going well!
You were clearly enjoying your time with them as they slowly made their way around the different tanks. You were enthralled by everything Zoey had to say, you listened intently to any remark Rumi and Mira added.
Then Mira had tried to make her move.
The mood was perfect; Zoey and Rumi had stepped back to give you two some semblance of alone time. She'd been flirting and you seemed receptive to it. She had wrapped an arm around your shoulders, was leaning in to kiss youâ
Her phone began ringing.
âWhat, why nowâwhy is Celine calling me?â Mira had complained when sheâd fished her phone out.
Grumbling and cursing at fate, sheâd stormed off to answer. Whatever it was Celine needed, it had best be important for what she had interrupted.
Soâthat was the first stumble. But they could recover from this.
Mira just has chronic bad luck when it comes to trying to confess anything to you, that didnât mean Rumi and Zoey didnât have a chance to salvage this. Things will get better!
It didnât get any better.
Each attempt was interrupted, each time they tried to make a move, to make you know their feelings, something had to happen.
Rumi had taken your hand in hers, entwining your fingers together as she stood close, her gaze flickering from your lips and back to your eyes. She wanted to kiss you so badly.
âI need to tell you,â she had begun in a soft whisper, âI am iââ
A group of children cut her off with their screaming and laughter as they ran between you, forcing Rumi to back awayâbut not quick enough to avoid the can that came flying out of one of the kidsâ hands, covering Rumiâs shirt in grape juice.
Their mother had profusely apologized, but that didnât erase the way Rumiâs face flushed with shame and humiliation. Not even Zoeyâs attempt at comfort in the bathroom while she changed into the shirt Mira had quickly gotten from the gift shop had made her feel better.
She almost wanted to cry when you asked if she was okay after leaving the bathrooms. No she was not okay, but she couldnât say that to your stupid, pretty face.
Mira had tried again while you were in the Deep Blue Sea Tunnel.
Sheâd sidled up to you, made a joke about how it looked like two of the fish were kissing, had been about to suggest that maybe you and her should follow their advice.
Only she didnât get to finish that sentence when a group of school girls approached, shyly asking if she was Miraâand already found out, Mira was helpless to say no to autographs and photos.
At one point Zoey had reached peak desperation.
She was ready to drop to her knees in the Penguin Playground, and scream her feelings out loud for everyone to knowâonly for that to be foiled when a runaway penguin started chasing her instead.
It had taken ten minutes before the staff were able to wrangle the angry humboldt back to his exhibit.
Maybe Mira's curse had spread to the rest of them, because the universe seemed intent on ruining this no matter what.
By the time they had returned to the penthouse, all three girls felt exhausted and wholly defeated.
You were the only one who seemed to have truly enjoyed herself, collapsing on the couch next to Zoey and yawning. âThat was so much fun,â you had murmured, a wide grin stretched across your face.
If only the other three could agree.
âSorry,â you said, yawning again, your eyes struggling to stay open, âAll that excitement kind of took everything out of me. Just give me a minute and I can be out of your hair in no time.â
âYou can rest here for a while,â Zoey had said instead, wrapping an arm around you to tug you into her side. âYouâre dead on your feet, youâre welcome to take a nap.â
Laughing tiredly, you didnât fight her as she tugged you close, âIf I fall asleep now, Iâll end up here all night.â
You said it as if that were a bad thing, but none of the girls here would complain if you stayed over for the nightârather, theyâd like it if you spent the night more often.
Mira scoffed, shaking her head, âYouâre practically falling asleep already. If itâs a big deal we can wake you up in an hour.â
You opened your mouth to argue with herâbut another yawn betrayed you. Instead, your body slumped as your eyes fluttered shut as you nestled further into Zoey, her shoulder becoming your pillow.
The three exchanged a look, the kind of look they had been trading since theyâd met you months ago. Full of declarations that need no words.
You were so adorable.
You were so perfect.
You had absolutely no idea the kind of things you were doing to their hearts.
Rumi leaned forward, her body sagging, and her voice a whisper just barely heard. âYou really donât get it, do you?â
You stirred, âGet what?â
âRumi,â Mira warned, but it was too late.
The words were spilling out before Rumi could even stop herself, before she even knew what she was saying. Thick, full of months of want and longing. âYou donât see what you do to us. How crazy we are for you.â
Slowly, you opened your eyes, blinking blearily as your raised your head from Zoeyâs shoulder. ââŠme?â
Mira exhaled slowly, letting go of the months of restraint and frustration as her hand slowly reached out to take hold of yours. âYou really donât see it.â
Now you were sitting up straighter, familiar confusion knitting your brow, âSee what? IâI thought we were friends? Iâm sorryâi-if Iâve been overstepping some boundariesââ
Zoeyâs laugh cracked, equal in both desperation and hysteria. âFriends? Boundaries? Babe, weâve been flirting with you nonstop since day one!â
Rumiâs cheeks were flushed, but her gaze stayed steady on you. âWe thought just the three of us was enough. Then we met you.â
The silence that followed was deafening.
You stared between them, mouth slightly open as what was happening slowly sank in. Your face slowly turning a vibrant red. âWaitâwhat? Youâyou want me? As in, you want want me, youââ
âYes!â Rumi yelled, throwing her hands in the air. âOh, my God, yes!â
Mira shook her head, muttering, Â âWe werenât even being coy about it, and you still missed every hint.â
Was it possible for your face to turn redder? âIâI thought you were just really affectionate!â you defended yourself, your voice growing higher in pitch in your panic. âYou three are already the power couple of the nation, I didnât want to assumeââ
âYou should have assumed!â Zoey huffed, cheeks puffing out in annoyance. âDo you have any idea how many of your hoodies and shirts Iâve stolen? Thatâs not just friendship.â
You pulled your hand free from Miraâs so you could bury your face in them, laughing helplessly. âOh my god.â
Mira leaned in, her voice quiet but steady, an anchor, âWe like you,â her voice a whisper in your ear as your hands are pulled from your face.
Then sheâs turned your head, and her lips are pressed to yours.
Itâs a soft kiss at first, slow and careful, like Mira was testing the waters, wanting to make sure that this was okay. The others were watching intently, trying to gage your reaction, and Mira kept kissing you. A soft moan escaped you.
Mira decided she was going to dedicate her life to hearing you make that sound as much as possible.
When she pulled back, your face is at a record-high red, your eyes almost entirely pupil, and your breathing having grown labored.
ââŠYou want me,â you whispered.
Rumiâs hand reached out to rest on your knee. âSo, so badly.â
âYou have us feeling like weâre going crazy with how much we want you,â Zoey agreed, resting her head on your shoulder.
âDo you want us?â Mira asked.
Their whole world held its breath for your answer.
Then you smiledâthat same radiant, golden smile that had started this all in the first place. âI do.â
Zoey let out a squeal so loud that Rumi and Mira flinched, but neither stopped her when she threw herself against you fully, pulling you into a tight hug, resuming what Mira had started in kissing you, and reaching out blindly for her partners.
They joined more gracefully, wrapping themselves around you and Zoey until all four were tangled together on the couch, laughing breathlessly.
They each kissed you.
Months of want and need coming out as they each took their turn, kissing and holding, showing you just how much they wanted you, just how crazy in love you had made them.
Tomorrow, they can talk. Tomorrow, they can sit down and figure out what they are, figure out what this means for both their personal and professional lives.
But tonight?
Tonight they can finally have everything theyâve been yearning for these past few months.

Could I ask for m/r/z separate headcanons about reader taking them on a date to a pet cafe? Like those cat cafes but they're separated by the type of animal, like cat, dog, bird, snek, etc. I think each of them would find their favourite from there and wouldn't want to leave without their newly found child.
Pet Cafes

This was, without a doubt, Zoeyâs idea.
She saw that a reptile cafe had opened up, had seen that it had great reviews, and immediately knew she had to take you there as soon as possible. Because come on, it was a reptile café, those things were rare, and it sounded so neat to her, she wanted to experience it with you.
Doesnât even tell you thatâs where sheâs taking you on for your date, she wants it to be a surprise, wants to see your expression when you realize whatâs going on.
You are definitely a little confused at first when you walk in and see all sorts of reptiles in cases and open tanks. Youâve heard of cat cafes, youâve heard of dog cafes. Youâve never heard of one with snakes and lizards before.
Odd, but definitely cool, and you canât lie that itâs not a little exciting.
You two spend less time drinking your coffees and more time crouched over a turtle tank watching them nibble on a vegetable blend like it is the greatest thing youâve ever seen.
Zoey is the talker, the queen of yapping, and you love her for it, so of course she is going to go into a very long ramble about every fact and detail about the breed of turtles theyâve got at the cafĂ©. Youâre leaving that place knowing more about reptile biology than what a professor could teach you in an entire semester.
Of course youâre encouraging her the whole time, too. If Zoey starts to get a little quiet, youâre gonna prompt her by pointing at the turtles, or one of the lizards or snakes, and ask a random question about them to get her going.
At one point, the employees even let you feed one of the snakes. Which Zoey bemoans how jealous she is over.
Lots of photos are taken with the reptiles, lots of photos sent to Mira and Rumi to brag about the date. Mira warns you two that youâre not bringing a snake back to the penthouse.
Doesnât stop Zoey from trying to work out a plan with you on how to, hypothetically, sneak one in.
Mira absolutely pats you both down like youâre going through airport security when you come back to the tower to make sure you didnât bring along an extra passenger.
Neither of you have the heart to tell her that of course you didnât bring a turtle back to the penthouse. You two need to get an enclosure and all the necessary supplies first.
Taking Rumi to the cat cafĂ© was your idea. With how overworked and stressed sheâd been lately, you thought that this might help her relax. After all, she clearly liked cats since she kept Derpy.
You did tell her in advance that was where you wanted to take her, and while sheâs been looking forward to it, sheâs also nervous. Sheâs always nervous when you take her on a date.
Poor girl is stiff as a board when you two go in. Doesnât know what sheâs supposed to do, what sheâs not supposed to do. Girlâs never been to a cat cafĂ© and sheâs overthinking everything.
The moment one of the cats comes over, rubbing itâs face against her leg, and her expression immediately changes. Eyes going wide in shock and awe, feeling like sheâs been chosen.
Sheâs a big softie, sheâs falling in love with all of the cats immediately.
You think your favorite part of this date is seeing the weeks of stress and exhaustion melt off Rumiâs expression as sheâs playing with the cats.
It doesnât take long for her to have half a dozen cats clamoring around her. Girl is looking at you, and even if she doesnât say it, her expression is begging you to let her take all of the cats home
Rumi is looking over the adoption information for each and every cat. She has the financial means to provide for all of them, and the penthouse is certainly big enough to house all of them. Why canât she adopt all of them?
Itâs going to take a lot of convincing to stop Rumi. Might have to compromise on adopting two cats at max because she is not leaving that cafĂ© without a cat.
She thinks you look absolutely adorable when one of the cats curls up on your lap or tries to climb onto your shoulder. Sheâd definitely take a photo of you if she wasnât currently occupied with an armful of cats.
Mira and Zoey are completely unsurprised that this cat café date ended in you two adopting a cat.
Derpy is going to be very jealous when you two come back and he can smell all the other cats on you. Even more jealous if you two come home with a cat. Prepare for a very clingy tiger crawling all over you two for the rest of the day.
Taking Mira to a dog café was a risky choice, but one you wanted to take.
On the one hand, you were sure that she was going to love it and you both would have fun.
On the other, there was the chance that theyâd get along too well and youâd become a third wheel on your own date.
Regardless of which it ends up being, you know that Mira will be absolutely delighted once she sees all the dogs, her eyes lighting up in glee and excitement, and that makes it worth it to you.
For Mira, itâs like sheâs died and gone to heaven, getting to be surrounded by so many excitable furballs. Theyâre all so cute. This is definitely going down as one of her favorite dates youâve taken her on.
She immediately sets her eyes on this one small, stubborn, mean-looking dog and itâs love at first sight.
In no time at all Mira has got this dog sitting on her lap as you and her have your drinks, with Mira feeing the pup treats and cooing about what a good little pup he is.
You definitely tease her about how she and the dog must be soulmates because not only do theyâve got the same resting bitch face, but theyâve got the same attitude. Itâs Mira as a dog; looks like itâd murder you, but is actually an absolute sweetheart.
Mira tries to play it off as though sheâs not actually that interested in the dog, but you donât buy it for a second. For someone whoâs not all interested, sheâs being very cuddly towards it, after all.
Of course, just like Mira, that dog absolutely loves you, too.
Miraâs only a little jealous when the pup jumps from her lap to yours to start licking all over your face in doggy kisses. Though itâs hard to tell if sheâs jealous of you, or of the dog.
You definitely come back to the café later that day to talk about the possibility of adopting the dog.
It might be a little early for a birthday or Christmas gift, but she really bonded with that dog, and you know sheâll be really happy if you surprise her with him at the penthouse.

I think one of the funniest abortion stances I've heard was from my parents neighbor. He's a like, hard-core libertarian viking larper guy who is very tall and very fat and very bald.
He believes a fetus is human with a soul, but also its "basically attacking the woman's body" so if she wants to get rid of it, that's "basically self-defense". He compared it to shooting a home invader. So he supports abortion not as healthcare, but as killing a baby in self-defense
Y'know I'm so glad someone reminded me of this. Because this was also discussed.
My stepmother did NOT like the way her Libertarian Viking Neighbor framed pregnancy as the fetus "attacking the woman". She incredulously told him this was extremely disrespectful to expectant mothers to portray pregnancy as so violent and negative.
Libertarian Viking Neighbor's response was that people consensually hurt each other all the time, and "there's like a whole community about that, with the acronym the one that starts with a B" And his reasoning was that if the mother was consenting to bring attacked by the baby, it in fact wasn't violent and negative because there was consent.
He brought up people consensually hurting each other, didn't go for one of the obvious answers like boxing or body mods or something, no he went STRAIGHT TO BDSM and he DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THE ACRONYM

Preferably when she wasnât wearing the retainer.
Hi thank you so much for opening up requests! Can I ask for a continuation of oblivious Mira? Now that her and her reader are finally on the same page Mira is doing everything to make up for lost time. Shes determined to shower reader in a barrage of love every day. Reader has no complaints of course even if they tease her a little about it sometimes. If Rumi and Zoey thought they were inseperable before its gonna take a crowbar to pry Mira away from reader now. It was cute at first but you can only walk in on Mira and reader making out so many times before it gets tiring. Mira is shameless about it all until Bobbys the one who walks in on them (oh shit thats her dad). You can decide what happens next xD

Sequel to Slow On The Uptake
When it came to running errands, Zoey liked going on them with Mira the best. It was nothing against Rumi, of course, it was just that Rumi tended to stick to only going to the stores they needed to, and avoided taking detours to other stores. A result of being raised by Celine, she supposed.
With Mira, the two could turn what should have been a forty-minute trip into several-hours long shopping spree, going into every store that caught there eye, regardless of whether it had something on their errand list or not. Be it to coffee shops with a sign advertising a new drink, or a clothing store that had a cute outfit. The two would leave the penthouse only needing to grab a couple of things, and return with armfuls of shopping bags.
But, admittedly, taking a detour into a flower shop was certainly a new one for Mira.;
And yet here the two of them were, inside a small flower shop with Zoey carrying an armful of shopping bags and Mira scouring the rows of plants like a woman on a mission. The person the flowers were for was obvious.
âSoooo⊠did something happen between the two of you?â Zoey asked tentatively as she watched Mira look over the flowers in front of them. She swore, Mira was practically analyzing each individual petal to make sure whatever bouquet she picked was nothing short of perfect.
Mira hummed as she looked up from the flowersâyour favorite flowers, Zoey notedâto look at her. âNo? Why do you ask?â
Why did she ask? Zoey wasnât sure how to answer that without coming across as, well, rude.
She just knew that Mira had been a lot more attentive to you lately. Like, a lot more. An insane amount of a lot more. Zoey wasnât sure what triggered the drastic change.
Seemingly overnight Mira went from being comfortable in the quiet intimacy where only those close to you two seemed to know about your relationship, getting flustered and denying it whenever someone brought up your relationship, to suddenly needing to announce to the world every chance she got about how in love you two were. She was pulling you into kisses all the time, clinging to you like sheâd die if she let go.
Zoey swore sheâs heard Mira tell you âI love youâ more times in the last week then in all the years sheâs know you two.
It certainly wasnât like Mira was trying to hide her relationship with you from the world anymore. While the two of you hadnât officially launched your relationship to the public, a person would have to be blind and deaf to not know the two were dating at this point with how Miraâs been acting.
It was such a huge change from the quiet, almost shy, kind of love Mira showed towards you, and she wasnât sure what to make of it.
Were these grand gestures of romance her attempt to apologize for doing something? Or was she just feeling extra sappy lately? Zoey didnât know and it was driving her mad.
But it wasnât like Zoey could just ask Mira that.
âItâs justâŠyouâve been a lot more affectionate lately.â
Mira looked back to the flowers, âNothing wrong with wanting to shower my partner with attention,â she answered, and the way she called you her partnerâthe pride and glee was etched in every letter. As if this was somehow still new and in the honeymoon phase, and not a many-year-long relationship.
And, fair. Zoey really couldnât argue with wanting to shower someone she cared about with love and affection. If she was dating someone, sheâd do the same.
It just felt weird that Mira was only starting to do that now. Did it just take a few years for her to feel comfortable enough in a relationship to be so openly affectionate?
She didnât get a chance to ask any more on the subject before Mira found the bouquet she was looking for it and promptly took it up to pay, leaving Zoey to stand between the daffodils and asters without any further explanation.
Even if she hadnât walked off, Mira seemed so happy with the flowersâwith getting to give you flowersâthat Zoey found she didnât want to ruin the mood with additional probing.
It went without saying that Zoey was the songwriter of their group.
Thatâs not to say that Rumi and Mira couldnât write songs. Theyâve written their fair share, and they always collaborated together and pitched during the songwriting process. But Zoey was still the lead lyricist of their group, and for good reason. None of them had quite the way with words that she did, and so they tended to leave the heavy lifting to her.
They each had their strengths and weaknesses. Rumi was able to hit and hold notes that the others couldnât dream of. Miraâs choreography was out of this world, completely unmatched, able to move in ways the others couldnât. And Zoey was their lyricist, writing lyrics that were poetic and powerful.
So it was rather surprising to find sheet of paper scattered around Miraâs room with lyrics written on every one of them, lines crossed out, notes made in red. Even more surprising were the lyrics themselves.
She only had to skim a few lines to clock that all these songs Mira was writing were love songs. It took only another few lines to see that these songs were specifically about you.
It was perhaps a few dozen half-written drafts of the sappiest love songs Rumi had ever seen. It was adorable, she wasnât going to say it wasnât. While there was clearly room for improvement, it was still some of the cutest lyrics sheâd seen.
âOh, hey Rumi,â Mira looked surprised to see Rumi on her bed, sifting through all the song drafts, when she came back to the room. âWhat are you doing here?â
Rumi glanced up from the current song she was reading, âI came by to see if you wanted to go out for coffee,â she said as explanation, before holding one of the papers up for Mira with a teasing smile. âWhatâs with all these songs? Have you been holding out on us for a Valentines album?â
âPlease, if we were going to be putting together a new album, weâd go to Zoey,â Mira laughed, waving off the idea.
Okay, so not a new album. Not surprising there, besides Rumi had a pretty good idea of what these songs were for, considering the obvious subject matter, but she wanted to hear Mira admit to being a sappy romantic.
She grinned, leaning back to look up at her friend. âOoohâŠthen care to explain what all these romantic songs are about, if not for an album?â she teased.
That earned a blush from Mira who tried to hide her smile behind a fake cough. âWellâŠyou know how theyâre gone for a tour right now, right?â
Rumi nodded along. The âtheyâ in question was obvious. She was pretty sure everyone whoâs been in the tower recently knew you had gotten hired on as the backing guitarist for a pretty popular singer for his latest tour, what with how much Mira bragged about it.
They were all proud of you, of course. Your musical career had been gaining traction these last couple of years, which Rumi was fully aware was a far harder climb for you than it had been for Huntr/x.
Sure, you were in the music industry, but you werenât an idol or a singer. You were an incredibly talented guitarist who did the musical accompaniment for different groups. Despite the challenge, you were rising in popularity, showing up on the occasional show and being part of magazine shoots. This tour was just the latest in your steady rise of stardom.
âThey arenât due back for another few months, right?â
âRight,â Mira offered a soft laugh, scratching her neck, looking almost embarrassed by the whole thing. âWell, every time I started missing or thinking of them, I found myself writing about these feelings, and they justâŠkind of became songs.â
Rumi looked at Mira, and then at the pile of papers around her.
âThese are from every time you started missing them since theyâve gone on tour?â she asked, earning a sound of confirmation from the dancer. She looked back at the pile. There had to have been dozens upon dozens of songs surrounding them. âMira, theyâve only been gone for three days.â
âAnd Iâve been miserable with how much Iâve missed them these last three days.â
The moment youâd come back from that tour, Mira was stuck on you like glue.
You two always gravitated towards each other, even with your busy lives, so it wasnât like Rumi or Zoey werenât used to seeing you and Mira tangled together on the couch watching bad movies, or for one to be sprawled across the otherâs lap in the studio a few floors down while you two drafted music together.
But it was definitely odd seeing Mira this clingy. Sheâd always held herself when the others were around, Rumi and Zoey used to gossip that she was just shy about it. But now that you were back, it was like she was trying her hardest to fuse herself to you.
Wherever you went, Mira went. Always holding your hand, or having her arms wrapped around your shoulders as she leaned against you, or pressed to your side. Like she might die if she didnât have some kind of skin-to-skin contact with you.
It was adorable the first two days. Now itâd escalated into being hilariously ridiculous how sheâd pout and grump about it if she had to be separated from you for any reason. It was definitely getting harder to get her to attend practices and rehearsals if you didnât come along to watch. Which meant it was gradually shifting from amusing to frustrating for the others. Not that Mira cared.
âYou know theyâre definitely judging you, right?â you asked with a laugh as Mira sat snuggled on your lap, face resting in the crook of your neck.
Mira scoffed, and pressed herself further into you, the show on the tv being largely forgotten. âTheyâre just jealous of us,â she said, as if it were that simple. âI get to show off how wonderful my partner is, while theyâre still single.â
You laughed, running your fingers through her hair. âYou know, I really donât think thatâs the case,â you teased, earning a huff of disapproval against your throat. âFor someone who was so adamant about not telling anyone that you didnât know we were dating; you sure are making it obvious this is a ânew relationshipâ for you.â
âIâm not being obvious. They donât suspect a thing.â
Unable to help it, you let out a bark of laughter. âMira, babe, love, sweetheartâyou went from being so afraid to do anything that might give away that you liked me, to suddenly jumping me every chance you get like youâre trying to devour me overnight. They absolutely suspect something.â
The smart thing to do would have been for you and Mira to slowly ease into being more and more physically affectionate with each other if they wanted to keep anyone from asking questions. That would have been the safe, logical way to go about sneaking by them.
But, turns out Mira had zero self-restraint once she learned that she had full permission to do all the things sheâs wanted for years to do to you.
Not that she felt an ounce of shame for it.
Just to prove the point, she tilted her head and nipped at your throat. âCanât blame me when youâre just so tasty looking,â she murmured, pressing a kiss to where she bit. âBesides, Iâm trying to make up for years of being denied this kind of affection. Stop looking so good all the time, and maybe Iâll stop needing to drag you in for a kiss every time I see you.â
âOr,â you countered, laughing as she continued to press kisses to your neck, âa revolutionary idea, I know, but you could learn some self-restraint. Itâs not going to be too long before the others start asking why youâre acting so needy lately.â
âIf they ask anything, Iâll just say that weâve been together long enough that I felt it was safe to finally be more open about being with you.â
âAnd you really think theyâre going to buy it?â you smirked.
âOf course they will,â it wasnât the most convincing declaration, but it would do. If the others started asking, either theyâd managed to gaslight Rumi and Zoey into thinking that Miraâs always been this absolute clingy sap, or theyâd get the fun of learning that Mira was completely unaware that she was your girlfriend these last few years.
Privately you were hoping for the latter, just because it was the funnier of the two options in your humble opinion.
Slowly Mira shifted, off your lap, moving to sit beside you on the couch, though still pressed close against you as she turned her attention back to the show, though clearly not especially interested in it.
They only managed another five or so minutes of the show before she broke the comfortable silence with a question.
âYou know,â Mira said softly as she rested her head to your shoulder again, her hand finding yours. âI never did ask, but when did you realize you liked me?â
You hummed in thought. She was right, you supposed. You never told her when you first realized you were in love with herâthough to be fair, sheâs never told you when that moment was for her, either.
StillâŠit wouldnât hurt to share.
âI think it was the start of our first year in high school,â you said, thinking back to that moment. âWe were heading toâŠI donât even remember where, but that doesnât matter. You were talking about some dancer you saw on the TV, face completely flushed in your excitement, talking about how badly you wanted to be as graceful as her.â
Slowly, you brought your fingers to entwine with hers as you talked. âIâd always known I had felt something for you. My heart would always beat faster when I was with you, Iâd feel happier, warmer, feelings I couldnât put a name to. Couldnât have just been friendship, I knew that, but nothing else made sense,â you explained softly, smiling just as gently.
âThen you looked at me, there were stars in your eyes as you talked about this ballet dancer you were obsessed with, and the sunset behind you was making you glow. That was the moment I first thought âOhâŠI know this feeling. This is love.ââ
Your smile grew gentle as you turned to her, taking in the pink in her cheeks, the way she looked at you with an emotion you now knew very well. âI still think that every time I look at you. Find my heart feeling full, my chest warm, and all I can think of is that I love you.â
Mira was watching you with a soft gaze.
âYou love me,â She murmured, as if it was still so hard to believe that it was true. That she still couldnât believe this wasnât a dream.
âHmmâŠI think youâre right, maybe I do love you,â you confirmed, bumping your forehead against hers.Â
Slowly, Miraâs smile stretched, going from soft and sweet to something far more predatory. âYou love me,â she repeated in a coo, cupping your cheeks in her hands. You recognized that dangerous gleam in her eyes.
That was all the warning you got before her mouth was on yours.
It didnât take long for the kiss to get heated. Which, in Miraâs defense, she was still making up for all the years she could have been kissing you for, just as quick for her to move from you mouth to start covering your neck in kisses and bites.
In hindsight, this was not the best place for it. The two of you were in the middle of the penthouse, right on the couch. Anyone could just walk in and see Mira trying to devour you whole.
But common sense has a funny way of taking a rain check whenever Mira starts kissing you. Â Besides, you already knew that if you tried to bring it up, Mira would dismiss it with a âI donât care if Rumi and Zoey walk in on us.â
And the more she kept kissing you, the more you found yourself not caring, too. Could you be blamed? You were just as hungry as Mira was to make up for all those years of not getting to touch her the way you wanted to.
The elevator doors opened not too long after with a soft ding that went unheard, and unfortunately for you both, it was neither Rumi nor Zoey who stepped out.
âHey, MiraâRumi said Iâd find you up here. Thereâs some questions about the choreography for the next conceeeeeeroooh my god Iâmsosorry!â Bobbyâs innocent greeting turned into a high-pitched, frightened squeak as he stumbled back several steps, hands over his eyes as if that might undo what he had to see.
Coming into the penthouse to see Mira atop you, lipstick stains covering your face, love bites over your neck, and a shirt shucked off over the back of the couch, was not a sight anyone wanted to walk in on.
Immediately, Mira reeled back from you, face as red as her hair, staring in horror at Bobbyâs rapid attempt at a retreat, hand still over his eyes as he blindly stumbled into every corner and end table on his way back to the elevator.
âIâm sorry! I didnât see anything, I swear!â he could be heard now that he was out of sight.
But, no, it couldnât have just stopped there. It couldnât have just been Bobby who stumbled in on the scene. That would have been too kind, too merciful a punishment for yours and Miraâs recklessness.
Celineâfucking Celine of all peopleâ stood at the entryway.
Her expression was as unreadable as stone, taking in the half dressed, disheveled states of you and Mira, crossed her arms over her chest and raised a single eyebrow.
âMira,â Celine said, and the idol went as ramrod straight as she knelt on the couch, her blush going deeper. âDo we need to implement new rules about having guests over at the penthouse?â
Neither you nor Mira could look her, or each other, in the eyes. âIâŠuhâŠno, Celine,â Mira stammered.
With a soft hum, Celine knelt to pick up the papers Bobby dropped in his haste and depositing them on one of the penthouse end tables. âWe need you back in the studio at five to rework some choreography for your upcoming concert. Donât be late.â
âRightâŠCeline.â
Celine nodded turned on her heels to walk away before pausing for a lingering moment. âA little word of advice, but I strongly recommend limiting these kinds activities to the bedroom."
She didnât think her blush could burn any darker, but there it went, a boiling scarlet as Celine walked away to join the still profusely apologetic Bobby at the elevator without so much as another word on the matter.
Once the elevator gave the telltale ding of closing and descending, Mira slumped over, burying her face into the couch cushions.
âKill me now.â
You laughed, pulling your shirt back on, âThis really was on us.â
She only gave a muffled groan in response. This was the kind of humiliation she was never going to look down. How in the world was she going to be able to look Celine or Bobby in the eyes again after this?
But you were still laughing. It was embarrassing, you werenât going to pretend it wasnât. But if you didnât laugh at yourself over the situation, what else could you do? âSoooo~ Any reconsideration on that whole âself-restraintâ thing?â
Mira raised her head from the cushions to glare at you, âShut up.â
âMake me,â you taunted back with a smirk.
