... I’m not sure if anyone remembers but back when I was super into bnha - I’d do anything to fight against the anti’s because it was what I thought what was right.

And it still is, I don’t regret it.

Depicting all members of the LGBTQ + community with extremely high standards, sometimes impossible to achieve is just wrong and unfair for all those people who don't fit that kind of narrative.

LGBTQ+ people can have flaws, they can make mistakes, they can have trauma, they can be depressed, they can have mental health issues, they can suffer from addiction and abuse or be in a toxic relationship.

Also not all LGBTQ+ relationships are perfect and idyllic and to say the opposite is fucking dangerous for the victims of toxic or abusive relationship.

I was reading this article about how much work and heart hiromu arakawa put into writing fullmetal alchemist and Silver spoon and I’m honestly so impressed???

-she talked with war veterans and people with disabilities to accurately depict characters with those backgrounds

-she also researched military corruption extensively

-she fought to bring in more female characters with her editors who opposed it

-she has told her readers that there is no shame in leaving an emotionally toxic situation and you should never feel guilty for it

-she based the situation with the ishvalan people off of a real displaced indigenous group called the ainu people in hokkaido to raise awareness of their situation

-she criticizes the notion of self sacrifice being a noble thing especially since it’s such a prevalent theme in most shonen manga

-she worked on a farm with a lot of hardworking women and wanted her work to reflect just how complex real women can be rather than overdone anime stereotypes

-she has stated that she thinks there is value in not repressing anger in the face of injustice, and she thinks it’s good to use that anger in constructive ways

-she has emphasized in her story that you don’t always have to forgive the people who hurt you

-she worked on and alongside several other manga one shots, illustrations, character designs, anime adaptions, movie adaptions, and light novels all while having three kids over the course of her career

I don’t even think this is everything I read but hiromu arakawa is a goddamn badass

i think that theyres really a difference in how cis people use gender jokes and how trans people use them.

cis people make gender jokes like “haha I identify as a HELICOPTER” and it signifies that to them it’s ridiculous to believe that some people have different identities and navigate being nonbinary. it’s saying that they don’t respect us or they’re just ignorant.

when trans people make gender jokes like “my gender is hating high school teachers” it’s flipping the script, saying that they defiantly don't care about gender and don’t care what cis people think.

Artist removes 1 inch off the peak of England’s highest mountain; Brits want their inch back.

It is still England’s highest mountain, but Scafell Pike is ever so slightly smaller now after an artist stole the top inch of the summit to display in a gallery.

Oscar Santillan, 34, was accused of vandalism after removing the stone pinnacle of the 3,209ft Lake District peak for an exhibition in London.
