Discovering the Island of Guam and the Chamorro.
While in Guam, I visited the famous “Two Lovers Point”, which was located a short drive from our hotel. It was close to sunset and there where not so many people. To my surprise, ema tablets were attached to the railing surrounding the outlook pavilion. There are many Japanese young people visiting this island. Here is their story:
“The Legend of Puntan Dos Amantes (Two Lovers Point)
Once long ago, in the time when Spain ruled Guam, there was a proud family living in Hagatna, the capital city. The father was a wealthy Spanish aristocrat and the mother was the daughter of a great Chamorro chief. The family owned land and were highly esteemed by all, Chamorro and Spanish alike.
Their daughter was a beautiful girl, admired by all for her honesty, modesty, and perfectly natural charm. Her beauty bestowed the greatest pride and dignity unto her family.
One day, the girl’s father arranged for her to take a powerful Spanish captain as her husband. When the girl discovered this, she was so distraught that she ran from Hagatna all the way to the north of Guam until she found a secluded and peaceful shore.
There, on the moonlit shore, she met and fell in love with a young warrior from a very modest Chamorro family. He was gentle, with a strong build, and had eyes that search for meaning in the stars.
When the girl’s father learned of the two lovers, he grew angry and demanded that she marry the Spanish captain at once. That day at sundown, she stole away to the same high point along the shore, and once again met her Chamorro lover.
Her father, the captain, and all the Spanish soldiers pursued the lovers up to the high cliff above Tumon Bay. The lovers found themselves trapped between the edge of the cliff and the approaching soldiers. All the young warrior could do was warn them to stay back, and the father ordered the soldiers to halt.
The lovers tied their long black hair into a single knot. And acting as if they were entirely alone, they looked deeply into each other’s eyes and kissed for the final time. Then they leaped over the long, deep cliff into the roaring waters below.
Her father and all who remained rushed to the edge to stare in great anguish.
Since that day, Chamorros have looked to the jutting peak above Tumon Bay with reverence. The two lovers remain a symbol of true love—a love in which two souls are entwined forever in life and in death. Forever after, the high point on the cliff was known as Two Lovers Point.” Courtesy wikipedia.

Mated turtles share their shells!
Not always but often when a pair of turtles mates, the male will leave his own shell and move in with the female. After doing so the couple will coordinate their arm and leg movements to walk and even swim.
I call this “Trying to get notes with false facts.”
I assure you, Facts-I-Just-Made-Up would never post false facts just to get notes. I also do it to confuse, misinform, and hurt people.
TURTLES SPINES ARE FUSED TO THEIR FUCKING SHELLS!! THEY CAN’T LEAVE THEIR SHELLS!!!
No no no you’re thinking of Hermit Crabs. Hermit Crabs are fused to their shells with their spinal columns. Turtles are perfectly capable of leaving their shells, free to pursue a life of religious fulfillment.
where do the two remaining front legs go?
If you look carefully at a common single turtle, you’ll notice that they only have one front flipper. This is because at the dawn of time, all turtles were conjoined like the one above. But Zeus feared these double headed creatures and decided that they were too powerful so he split them all in two. Now, all turtles have to wander the Earth looking for their other halves, and that’s the origin of turtle love.
Did you just make a Hedwig reference? Nice.

Bagel and lox with just the right amount of shmear. The breakfast of Jewish champions.
There was a raven, calling out to me. I was delusional, thinking death may be near. Then as I leveled my phone for a picture, it took off toward the right, signaling a good omen. It called out to me one last time, "This darkness shall pass."
This might be the longest it's taken me to get my head straight from my morning Lamictal fog. I'm still so confused...
