The frog prince au, where Mike gets turned into a frog and he immediately goes to find Will, his best friend and the best cleric (or sorcerer) he knows. Plus, only Will knows him well enough to see through the spell and know it's actually Mike.
He finds Will exactly where he expects to. In his chambers brewing a potion. He jumps up on the window sill, landing with a shocking level of ease (being a tiny frog has its advantages) He gets Wills attention and immediately goes into his plan. He needs to help him turn him back, the only way Mike knows how. With a kiss. Will immediately refuses. Says breaking a curse with a kiss is just fantasy, it's only in stories, it's not real magic. Mike isn't convinced, but he's never seen it happen, and he isn't going to question Will’s expertise.
Will says there must be a spell or potion they can use and sets off to gather ingredients and consult his books. Mike hops around his chambers the whole time, perching on his shoulder while he reads. It's kind of nice in away.
Will tries some spells, some potions. All of them fail to do anything but change his color, give him eyebrows or make him slightly larger, etc.
They waist the whole day on this, and Mike is tired and hungry -- he does NOT want to resort to eating a fly. So he begs, one last time to just try the kiss thing, because maybe it's real! Maybe it will work. Will says no, says it won't work. Mike's like look kissing a frog is kind of gross, but it's worth a try!
Will breaks then because no Mike, it won't work. A kiss only breaks a curse if it's true love. He's not willing to try it because he knows, he knows Mike doesn't feel the same way. Mike hops a little closer, and ask again in a soft, pleading voice.
And Will can't refuse it any longer. It will hurt but if he can cross this off the list then they can look to other options, maybe it's time to bring in another expert. Maybe Jane could help instead.
With a sigh he holds out his hand for Mike to hop on, raises him up and kisses him. It's hardly how he'd hoped his first kiss would feel - cold and slimey and very light because he's literally a small frog. But then there's the thrum, an energy that Will only associates with magic. In a brilliant flash of light, Mike turns back. Suddenly his hand isn't hilding a frog, but cuping Mikes cheek. They separate, sharing a wide-eyed look of realization.
Then, Mike pulls him back in. A proper kiss this time, deep and full of all the emotions they'd been holding back for years.
When they break this kiss again, out of breath, Mike leans his forehead against Will's smiling wide, eyes shining.
"I told you it'd work," He says, earning him an affectionate swat in the chest.
"I should have let you stay a frog,"
