concept: davina, distraught about hearing what genevieve, monique, and allison tried to do to klaus and hayley’s baby, rushes to find marcel to tell him. upon arriving at the compound, she sees him, klaus, and the baby, all alive. she apologizes to the baby, ashamed of what her fellow witches had failed to understand: children were not to be sacrificed. klaus later approaches davina, and gives her one chance to prove herself. she was to be the baby’s protector. “I can do it. no doubts, no hesitation, I can do it. I promise,” she tells him. throughout the years, davina does anything in her power to protect hope, but sometimes she is helpless to the circumstances, and despite her power, she cannot always protect her as she had wished. when this happens, she feels like a failure, but all it takes for her to feel better is to hear hope say “hey, aunt davina.”

tbh I think the worst thing about people who are anti-kolvina is that their arguments center around how kol is “supposed to be” this chaotic guy who only looks out for himself. like, do you all have a problem with understanding character development? or do you just hate that he was able to better himself? if you liked the drama and chaos that was kol in tvd, that’s fine, but you don’t have to hate on kolvina or davina because you think their relationship “ruined” him. I don’t get how him becoming a decent guy ruins anything. characters that stay stuck in their ways are boring. they’re static, and undeveloped. idk how much you would have liked him if he had stayed that way in the originals, and lbr he wouldn’t have even been in the show at all if the writers didn’t want him to become a better man. they would’ve kept him dead. would you prefer he stay dead than be happy and in love? do you realize how terrible that is??
