April 12, 2026. Starting with a simple photo a day like Fubbie. Took Lenny to our favorite Sniff Spot this morning, which has a ton of land and a creek running through it. She really… leaned in.

One of my favorite Lydia videos of all time. I want it on my blog so when I look back I'll marvel at how tiny she was (even though she looks huge to me now?!) Favorite parts - initial smile, splashing herself in the eye, smile up at mom again, "pbttthhh" towards the end when she needs a break. It's a tour de force.

October 29, 2016. We found a wild Kitty at the airport! Pics are of the apartment we're subletting for the month of November. It has its charms and quirks.... pros: temperpedic mattress. Comfy couch. Delicious filtered water out of fancy water machine. Big bedroom. Great location in the city. Cons: wildly fluctuating temperature. No microwave, I had to buy one?? Uncomfortable chairs for working from home. Water filter takes forever to filter, so sometimes it has plenty of water in it, but nothing comes out. It's just thinking. More cons - dry air, staticky hair. Wasps that have some sort of secret "in", as all doors and windows are closed and we've found like four of them flying around indoors. No plugs near the couch for charging phones. No cable, just Roku. Total lack of kitchen supplies. Other than those things, it's lovely! Went shopping downtown and bought identical leggings and a plaid shirt that happened to match Lydia. In "who wore it best," I sadly unanimously lost.

October 28, 2016. Day two of epic road trip was mostly characterized by KANSAS. I did this road trip in 2013 with my friend Chris, except we left Denver at 8 pm and headed east for an 18 hour leg to Nashville, driving through the night. Chris fell asleep about 5 minutes after we left Denver and didn't wake up until approximately 6 am. Which meant me, pitch black night, and 600 miles of flat open road. It was horrible. We almost ran out of gas several times because apparently in the mid-west gas stations aren't open 24 hours?! I fully expected this KANSAS journey to also suck, but Debbie and I were pleasantly surprised. Turns out things are a lot prettier when you can see them in the daylight. It felt very Americana - I just wanted to listen to Jim Croce and do some crooning and reflecting. We got to our airport hotel in Denver around 6 pm and had complimentary happy hour drinks and some dinner, then rested happily in bed because WE MADE IT! I've been on some four hour road trips that were way worse than this 24 hour one, not sure how that math adds up. Also please note the text from Rachel, one of my favorites of hers ever.

October 27, 2016. Mom and I embark on our 25 hour road trip to Denver! I drove the first six hours through all the worst states, like OHIO, which I found to be very ugly. Except at one rest stop I got out and there were Pokémon EVERYWHERE! It a total dream. Cracker Barrel bag is thanks to Brian, who gave me a ton of snacks and wine and gift cards before I left the rig, making me casually cry. I'll post some pics from the last week, but then will probably turn this blog into a normal blog that has, you know, pictures AND text.

January 30, 2016. Costco shopping for Hil's baby shower - emphasis on champagne. Of course. Then I made a ~~ healthy balanced meal of broccoli, peppers, and BACON. I think they cancel each other out. Still no pain on the diet other than a brief flash of stomachache after a stupid Sweet Green salad. I hate it there. "I never see you at Sue's Salads!" "That's because I don't hate myself, Tanya."

January 28, 2016. We had friends over for dinner and everyone was eating a delicious-looking pasta salad that I couldn't have :( but I DID reintroduce beef and nightshades, so I made a taco salad for Will and me. I also learned how to make my own taco seasoning instead of using the pre-made packets and I feel very #fancy and #organic and all that. It even tastes better than the store-bought kind! (Who am I??)

January 27, 2016. Jack's Mannequin Everything in Transit reunion tour at 930 club! Kitty and I went to drinks and dinner at Satellite Room right behind the club, pre-show. Pictured is her perfectly grilled cheese, a rare occurrence in the restaurant world. The show was amazing from what I remember (first time heavily drinking since #eliminationdiet!) and then I hung out with Kathleen and friends for a while post-show. Felt like 2007 again! Except now I'm actually happy in life.
