Struggling for that inspiration, ended up with a Lemmings-inspired little lady. She’s around 17px tall I think? I really need to get into a project with friends who can program and compose better than me.
Trying to get that Zelda flavor.
Effects are important, too!
Mmm, three frame run cycles.
There’s some work to be done (I’m seeing a few pixels that are in the exact same place when the frames change), but I think this is more what I’ve been after all along.
Three frames! Who knew? Thanks, Mega Man and Castlevania!
Working with less colors is way easier than what I was working on before. And if I can knock down the frame count in animations, I can probably get closer to that NES aesthetic I want.
Run cycles are difficult, but the only way to improve is to work through challenges. This is just a first pass with no hair or breast movement. There’s actually a lot I don’t like in the legs, now that I’m posting it!
I’ll come back to it later today and see what I can do with it.
