vader every time he came across 3po and r2 during the war probably
if you told 2016 me that destiel was going to become canon but finnpoe wasnât i wouldâve gone into total organ failure
Natalie Portman as Padmé Amidala in Episode I: The Phantom Menace (199)
3 beautiful divas đ
Bonus!
Thinking about how Anakin canonically both touched grass and got laid and was still Like That.
he was even at the club! and yet
padmĂ© wearing THIS outfit to tell an unbelievably hormonal teenage anakin skywalker that they canât be in love with each other is objectively one of the funniest things thatâs happened in star wars đđ
just thought about star wars and teared up
what if there was a franchise that was about hope, and the relationships between fathers and their children, and the relationships between mentors and their students, and redemption, and fighting against evil even when it all seems lost, and ordinary people believing in the possibility of a better and brighter future, and clinging to your culture even when darkness threatens to overcome you, and being thrust into situations that are so much bigger than you but still doing your best to make even the smallest difference, and fighting against oppression even when itâs all youâve ever known, and watching the universe change around you and being unable to stop it, and being let down by the people closest to you but still being able to forgive them, and having faith in the people around you even when you donât have faith in yourself. and also there are laser swords.
had to get this out before we collectively move on from coldplay ceo
The only true fans of Star Wars are women. The men donât know what theyâre talking about. All they think is wowowoweewah. I want my girlfriend to dress like Princess Leia. They arenât having any real philosophical discussions about it. Like me.
If youâre a real Star Wars fan then list 5 ways Obi-Wan Kenobi tortured himself. Bet you canât.
U can watch Star Wars so many times and it doesnât prepare u for how dumb Star Wars is. For one thing I think we gloss over how kenobi (who has definitely been at the club. Please.) describes the mos eisley cantina as the worst most villainous place ever and then u get inside and itâs a pack of muppets vaping
Why is it in the Star Wars font
I didnât spend 5 minutes on this for it to be ignored
i remember making a vid about ahsokaâs whole 14yo sex slave arc on the clone wars and getting nothing but comments from dudebro fans saying âwhoâs gonna stop meâ / âlucas based for thisâ, so, if andor helps ppl understand that star wars has always included stock sexual violence against its young women/girls, often w far less taste, and actually be able to talk about it, then good lol
leia being taken into sex slavery in rotj, her predecessor oola (the first named role for a black woman in a star wars movie btw) being executed for refusing to have sex with jabba, hondo attempting to sell ahsoka into sex slavery, again: ahsoka made to go undercover as a sex slave, qiâraâs whole arc in solo where itâs heavily implied that dryden forced her to become his sex slave and we see him grope her repeatedly, the background scantily clad podracing âservantsâ in phantom, padme being near-assaulted by clovis, lando tricking hera into sex slavery in rebels, that unnamed sex slave girl in tcw who commits suicide to escape, all the times ahsoka is groped and sexually harassed really. this is just off the top of my head, itâs only âthe first rape scene in star warsâ bc before now no one cared enough to call it rape . even when it was in a cartoon explicitly aiming to teach young kids morals, no one gave a shit. tbh!
iâm not against depictions of difficult subject matter in fiction at all tbc. i donât even think difficult subject matter necessarily has to follow a strict âresponsible depictionâ mold (i.e. hays code requirements of all wrongdoers needing to be killed). iâd hope thereâs room for all kinds of genuine exploration of dark subjects in fiction. but also, like, if we are being so real, itâs been clear for ages that star wars primarily (if not exclusively) uses this stuff as a blunt misogynistic tool to get its women/girlsâ clothes off and mouths shut. like. if we are being so fucking real. itâs always sucked. if it feels ânewâ with andor, that is an incredible damning of what came before
