every universe except this one, i guess.
moles, moles, moles.
kind of amazing/depressing that you can go on almost any blog stating themselves as tme or tma, search for the term "transmasc" and immediately get blasted with the most awful transphobic garbage you've ever seen spouted by another trans person
This post is so funny literally proving OOP’s point. Most of “transfeminist” Tumblr can’t handle how queer people described themselves in the 90’s either. Ntm that at least 50% of these are clearly transfems describing themselves, which it’s pretty fucking transmisogynistic to police the language they’re using. The only possible issue is the use of the h-word if said person wasn’t intersex but it’s the 90’s. All these people sound cool as fuck and would probably call OP a cop
Also this is "My Gender Workbook" by Kate Bornstein a transfem who literally helped to pave way for transfeminism (in fact this book is arguably the first ever transfeminist workbook) and these are the replies that she chose to include in her book about gender diversity.
It's very clear that for many people, the mere act of supporting a transgender man or transmasc person is enough to throw trans women and transfem people under the bus, even including transfem people who have spent decades developing transfeminism and gender activism.
the worst thing ever about byler not happening is that this just means will was used to prop up milevens heterosexual relationship and that all this really was was him slowly watching his best friend morph into an asshole who didn’t have time for him anymore when they grew up
it's all coming together
{ID - illustration of three hands stacked in the middle over the word "purple". the hands are labelled "asexual", "nonbinary" and (a purple impish hand) "Gengar"
END ID}

that's just byler and poor lucas 😭😭😭😭
I live a very balanced life of noticing things nobody else does and not noticing the things that literally everybody notices
There’s a quality that certain books/movies/TV shows have that leads me to say, “Yeah, I can see people making fanfiction of that.” It’s something to do, I think, with how tight the story is, how much feels open-ended or like it could be elaborated on.
Something like Breaking Bad, for example, has low squiggability (that’s what I’m calling this quality). It’s tightly written, the characters are consistent, there’s little left to interpolate or extrapolate. Obviously, people DO write fanfic of Breaking Bad, but it still has a low squiggability score. Whereas something like Supernatural has a high squiggability score. Fantasy and science fiction often have high squiggability scores. This suggests squiggability could also be related to worldbuilding and potential for people to borrow a premise or setting.
And sometimes you’ll read or watch something and you’ll say, “Ah, low squiggability,” and then you’ll open tumblr and find out that everyone else seem to think its squiggability was very high indeed.
Tbh I don’t think it’s wrong to suggest that it’s healthy to try and read books from different genres and branch out beyond your comfort zone as long as we’re also saying that to men who only read podcast bro self help books as much as we’re saying it to women who only read romantasy
Reposting my thoughts on shinigami eyes because it turns out the op reblogs from a known pedophile-
Shinigami eyes was always going to turn out this way. A user submitted system with no moderation or oversight is bound to be manipulated by bad actors. That’s just human nature atp.
But the specific way that it’s been weaponized against anyone who doesn’t fall in line is insane. People will be marked red for:
- Acknowledging that exosexism exists
- Acknowledging that trans men experience a unique form of oppression
- Are a trans woman or trans feminine person who doesn’t go along with any of this
As a result, you have a system where people are being marked red for doing things like talking about their lived experiences as a trans man, and people are being marked green for calling trans men whiny transandrocunts for daring to speak up about any of this. Or better yet telling us to kill ourselves- a tumblr classic.
One of these people is extremely dangerous and transphobic and it’s not the person marked red.
Having a queer character believe he won't find love and proving him right is not good writing.
Having a character grow up in solitary confinement and then ripping her away from the only family she's ever known to live a life of solitude once again is not good writing.
Having a character be in love with his best friend and then just compare it to a high school crush is not good writing.
Having Eleven say that Mike has always been the person who truly understood her after showing us in the previous seasons that he only sees her as a superhero IS NOT GOOD WRITING.
Having two girls be abused by a man with power for the majority of their lives only to leave them dead and alone as a direct consequence of the trauma they suffered IS VILE WRITING
Mike wheeler always at the crime scene

the hug after the coming out scene being who Will ACTUALLY wanted there 😭
Go into the transfeminism tag
"kill all men yes even trans men"
That's very clear
And yet the same people will try and tell you that noooo, they don't want trans men dead, you're just hysteri— I mean overreacti— I mean whiny— I mean mistaken! You just don't know how to read well!
This is why I get upset at people complaining about community infighting. That makes it sound mutual.
It’s more like a large chunk of the community (trans men, non binary people, intersex people, other trans women who speak out against this garbage etc) are defending ourselves from vicious attacks and a denial of our experiences.
No I actually don’t want to meet these assholes halfway and “form a community” with people who post shit about killing me and my friends.
