Ok but imagine this:

Kara and Lena are talking and finally being comfortable around each other again, in a conversation Lena says "You said you know what's on my heart kara, but... honestly I doubt that because I didn't even knew what was in my heart" and kara being as oblivious as she is says something like "Lena, we've been friends for a long time now, trust me I know you only meant good" and Lena just tired of hiding her feelings goes "YOU are in my heart kara, I didn't realize before but it's always been you YOU ARE MY PERSON" and then Kara's brain stops functioning and Alex is gonna have to grab some grass on her way at Lena's house

As I’ve said before, the most glaring issue on Supergirl right now truly is the lack of proper emotional exploration and storylines for its TITLE CHARACTER. And I don’t mean because they stop on occasion to do episodes centered around others. She can’t be absolute front and center every single time with the focus entirely on her, that’s unrealistic - especially at this point in the series.

But Kara lacks her own stories in general. She has no real arcs, no real depth or emotional exploration hardly ever, and certainly never long-term. The closest thing to a real arc she had this season was the Kara/Lena drama in 5A, setting us up for what should have been her having some realizations about herself, her mistakes, and her feelings for Lena…

All of which which they abandoned post-Crisis.

She has occasional moments of (sometimes OOC) development (like in the 100th)… but she has nothing, overall, to do. On her own show. She’s simply slid into everyone else’s arcs as needed to help their stories along. She’s a supporter of everyone else’s development, without any of her own.

It’s… tragic. And an epic waste of not only the character, but Benoist’s talent.
