It was my birthday over the weekend, so here's an Alcremie Pokemon card cake I actually made to celebrate my friend AlcremieSundae's birthday to mark the occasion!

There's actually quite a story to this cake...

Ever since Alcremie announced her Pokemon card decorating event at The Trainer Court, I knew I wanted to do the same. So for her birthday, our little online friend group coordinated a virtual Pokemon card decorating event - which I also did an IRL version of with friends, and I followed it up with a 100% edible decorated Pokemon card!

Our IRL event was a blast - my friends and I hit up a local card shop and bought some inexpensive cards and plastic toploader covers, and we had a blast painting, airbrushing, and stickering!

And of course, being a Pokemon baker I had to try making a cake version, and I'm in love with the results! 🍰 I baked an earl grey cake, and had this Alcremie promo card from Pokemon TCG Pocket printed on an edible icing sheet, which I laid atop lavender buttercream. I made the 3D Alcremie out of frosting, and all the little decorations - the Alcremie sweets, Pokeballs, Pokepuffs, and even the tiny Alcremie and Pika-waffle - are chocolate candy melts!

Alcremie is one of my all-time favourite Pokemon, and actually the reason AlcremieSundae and I first became friends, so this was really special! I've made a few Alcremie cakes at this point, and I think this one's actually my favourite. 🥹Just goes to show - sometimes you've gotta try something different, even if it's just a silly arts and crafts night!

i like need to relearn how to draw. the shapes of the chibis i was sketching today were so bizarre... i haven't drawn because i haven't had time and it's scary but it gets scarier as i go without drawinggg

anxiety is telling me in entering my flop era(less engagement in posts across all social media platforms) but I need to remember that people are actively trying to be less online and algorithms kill artists. also I can never be a flop if I believe in myself :0)

also anxiety about “not being as funny” as I was like 4-5 years ago which is NUTS to even worry about because back then I was profoundly miserable!!! and now I am happy and fulfilled and feel like I’m actually living. that is much better than being funny online. the wording of this is a joke but I'm serious in the sense of solidarity with immigrant women, refugee women, women in exile, women in the 'global south', women in all countries where women's rights are being attacked.

It should go without saying that this includes trans women, since they are women.

women's rights include many things from trans rights (see above), reproductive rights, voting rights, labor rights, access to healthcare, access to education and many many more issues. These are usually not exclusively women's issues but often primarily or openly target women and people read as women.
