London, December 1849-
Irene Shallcross Haley has dedicated her life to necromancy, a forbidden, reviled art that is passed along through sentient grimoires bound in human skin. With her undead husband St. John--a marriage of kindred spirits and platonic convenience--she has been protecting the knowledge of generations of witches that came before her. Like any magic, it has come at a cost: her reputation, her relationship with her sister, and her soul. NERDING OUT ABT THE DESIGN (below).
Light/Hometown has brown skin (yellowish undertone) and messier dark hair. Their eyes were red even before the SOUL possesed them (the same dark, faint color as Toriel's out of pure coincidence/hc), and they also got a heart locket both as a way to depict the SOUL's control as being chained around them. Not necessarily a Chara ref, but feel free to be a dreemur fam verse ref!
FIRST UP i love the in game color palette of Dark World Kris... its inverted but so pleasant and clearly conveys the "different world" aesthetics so well....
Dark World Kris is the design that I wanted to change the most after Noelle's. The Soul artificially obsures their face, and their mouth is drawn with thicker lines as it is tightly shut. Their hair is one blocky color, instead of having the faint lighting/shading of other characters, and they have more simplified features (nose/no acne). Basically, stoic and aura farming 24/7. What else... I like the shading I did for the cloak... In the Dark World, the SOUL takes the usual fanartist floating heart form.

I donât think healthy people every really get chronic illness.
I have a friend I know from when we were both 6. She is the only person living nearby and so she saw me go from walking through limping to wheelchair on a daily basis. I keep her updated on my health even tho we rarely hang out anymore.
She was gonna come over yesterday and I had to cancel. She asked if I canât hang out later that day. When I said i wonât feel better later, that if I feel that bad in the morning later will only get worse she got annoyed and âjokedâ that Iâm just finding excuses. And I was surprised, she knows all about me being disabled after all? So, a bit taken aback, I told her itâs a normal thing for me.
âBut you got the diagnosis now, arenât you better?? I thought youâll get better nowâ
She was honestly surprised and it made me realize a thing. They donât get it. They donât get that getting diagnosed only equals benefits like welfare or parking spot for us, and sometimes better pain meds but that is just like pushing luck. That itâs a forever thing. That that one day we felt good a week ago was just a bright spot and doesnât mean we wonât need our aids anymore, cause chronic illness is not linear and will make a great comeback in next four hours, and the next good day is planned on when weâre 70.
Cause when abled people are sick, they get better. And our illness is just an excuse for them. And when we say we will never get better they think weâre being dramatic and pessimistic.
And I donât think theyâll ever get it, cause to get it you need to live it.
And I want my friends to stay healthy and not go through hell.
