Thinking about Ghoul’s Rule is so interesting to me because I can’t stop thinking about Jackson/Holt being a metaphor for “White passing biracial”.

The fact they have to code switch (Literally) to fit into whatever situation to protect themselves or fit in with whatever group they’re with hits different, especially since they’re living in a world where human-monster relations are so bad that they can get falsely accused and nearly killed and their school can’t do anything because of systemic racism. Like Holt was minding his business and got locked up, all because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and the cops were eager to make him an example is so scary and real.

Jackson using his human passing privilege to get on the cops good side and get out of jail.

Holt and Jackson panicking when their phone dies or music plays because they know revealing themselves to either side was unsafe, especially after the humans attacked the school and Lilith’s racist ass helping the cops hunt them down to make her KKK coded family happy.

Honestly as a black woman, it makes sense why this movie always stuck with me and why these two are my favorite characters.

i also think it'd be funny if jackson's anger issues were way worse than holt's, like holt will get angry fast and fairly often but then it dies out soon enough so when he gets angry it's no big deal

but if jackson gets angry, you're dead meat. he very rarely loses his shit but when he does, he loses his shit. it's like a volcanic eruption. thankfully jackson getting so angry that he blows his top is rare enough that you don't have to worry about it, it's only happened two or three times really

Mink being Native American doesn’t get talked about enough because what do you mean Toue causally wiped out a tribe to get their resources and the only living member of that tribe is still being hunted down by the man that genocided his people?

Mind you, Native Americans already went through residential schools and having their land stolen so his people had to witness these horrors a second time just because Toue wanted to know how to smell a certain way

I feel like it would’ve made more sense if Talia became a ruthless assassin in order to protect Damian and kept him shielded from the world, then it would’ve actually made sense for her to send him to Bruce when things got too dangerous in the League

Like I could totally see Talia becoming more protective of him and treating him like a prince rather than training him to be a weapon

I think about Brave everyday because what do you mean we got a movie about a mother and daughter learning to communicate their feelings and frustrations with each other AND the daughter was a LITERAL WARRIOR READY TO EVEN FIGHT HER FATHER TO PROTECT HER MOTHER AND PEOPLE COMPLAINED BECAUSE IT WAS TOO FEMINIST FOR THEM?!??

This movie was so special to me as a kid and it still makes me cry…

Does anyone else feel like the way DC writes Jason Todd sometimes feels like a humiliation ritual or something? Like I read some comics or see certain panels and all I think is “Why do they hate his character? What did he do to make them write him like that?”

Was it that bad that he was the poor Robin that called out systemic issues and challenged Batman sometimes?

Was it that bad that he differs with Batman on his methods? Like where does the weird writing come from?

I love TimKon mainly because I remember when Kon and Cass were dating and Bruce became the most overprotective girl dad ever. Like imagine if Kon showed up dating another one of his kids and he’s just sitting there like “Your hunger knows no bounds!” I just imagine it would go like this:

Bruce: You will bring Tim back by 11 pm, not 11:01, not 10:59, 11 pm sharp!

Kon: Yes, Mr. Wayne

Bruce: And there will be no kissing, canoodling, or anything physical of that manner.

Kon: Yes, Mr. Wayne

Bruce: And get a hair cut, you look like a hippie [Slams the door in his face]

Tim: I think he really likes you

I love how people were shocked by Damian’s lack of care for others lives as if didn’t literally grow up with the lazurus pit. Like not only was he an assassin, his grandfather owned a pit of water that could bring people back to life, like why would he care if someone died? Just throw them in the green juice and they’ll be ok 🤷🏽‍♀️
