Inspired by the blog @parapride! This is a blog for para pride, specifically intended to be a safe space for (bodily/chrono) minors who are paraphiles.

This blog is run by a bodily teenage objectophile shapeshifterkin! My pronouns are it/they/he/she + any neos, and I prefer masc, neutral, or nonhuman terms.

Here at minorparapride, we believe:

There is no such thing as a thought crime

Being a paraphile is not a negative thing, nor is it something to be ashamed of

There is no such thing as a “harmful” paraphilia, and being a paraphile doesn’t mean you’ll commit a crime, even if you’re one of the “big three” (pedophile/MAP, zoophile, necrophile)

Minors can be paraphiles, and deserve a space to discuss their attraction without shame

Abuse is never okay, and (chrono/bodily) minors, theriform animals, and the physically dead can’t consent to sexual activity with (chrono/bodily) adults, non-theriform animals + humans, or the physically living

Engaging with a paraphilia through fiction is not inherently harmful, and is not the same as “acting on it” or offending

Wondering if you’re safe here? This blog is safe for all queer people, including those with “contradictory” labels, xenogenders, and neopronouns. It’s also safe for plurals of all origins, alterhumans of all kinds, and anyone with non-harmful transIDs.

This blog is *not* safe for bigots, all radfems, exclusionists, people who are “radnormal” or identify with adjacent terms, anti-endos/willos, etc etc. Also, obviously, paramisics. You will be blocked if I see that these are your beliefs (eg: if you want to interact with this blog and you have these beliefs, don’t share them here. I won’t check every blog that interacts or follows me though).

If you are radqueer or adjacent you may interact but be aware that I don’t support *many* radqueer beliefs. I am saying this because I believe even if you are a part of these groups you deserve to be supported and treated with kindness. Everyone does. But I especially want to point this out to radqueers because I know many of you are paraphilic youth and I know how difficult that must be. I want to provide you with a space that is genuinely supportive and respectful.

I don’t think I’ll ever be done talking about paraphilias until nobody is using people’s “weird” attraction as an insult or a reason to dehumanize them and nobody is claiming paraphiles are all doomed to be sexual abusers and nobody is making call out posts against people for their paraphilias etc etc etc. I will not shut up until every paraphile feels safe to be themself.

the other day I found the term MADIR, which stands for minor, animal, dead, incest, rape, because those are the groups/scenarios that can't be consensual, made to be used in place of "harmful paras"

so an anti-contact "harmful" paraphile would be called MADIR attracted or simply MADIR

and a pro-contact "harmful" paraphile is. just a predator

it was coined pretty recently so it's not widespread but I think it's cool ^-^

That is cool! “Harmful” never sat right with me because it like, definitely implies the attraction itself is harmful, which is impossible because attraction is always neutral. It’s your actions that count, and most “harmful” paraphiles don’t act in way that would be harmful. I’m glad there is a term that doesn’t imply that now, because none of the other alternatives really feel all that great either (big three is very… hm).

I don't exactly know what could count as a paraphilia. I have grown in a space that tells me paraphilias are bad, and inherently harmful (which I now understand they aren't - despite still being slightly scared) but, may I ask, what counts as a paraphilia? Would attraction to characters in media be considered one? Could non-romantic attraction still be classified as some sort of it?

Anything that isn’t part of standard/typical ideas about attraction could technically be considered a paraphilia. There’s a lot of grey area though and there are a lot of attraction types and kinks that could be considered paraphilias but aren’t usually. Attraction to fictional characters can be considered a paraphilia (fictophilia) but it kinda depends on what you want to label yourself I guess? I’m not really aware of if there’s any clear line for what is a paraphilia and what isn’t. And yes, non-romantic attraction can be paraphilic! Paraphilias can be for any attraction type, not just sexual/romantic.

I'm really happy to have found this blog, especially because I feel like sometimes minors aren't talked about enough when it comes to paraphilias. I hope I'll get the courage to speak more openly about being a biastophile, especially with my partner. I'm very vaguely open about it, I have mentioned it like two times and then never really spoke about it again (or only very vaguely), and some people, like, kinda know but it also doesn't matter/they never bring it up/maybe have even forgotten about it already(???). But I also really just wanna speak about my feelings and I'm also (un)fortunately kind of hyperfixating on my paraphilia(s) currently. Or at least very interested and excited to talk about them. Like, I actually really want people to ask questions and learn and I wanna be proud and open about it. It is part of who I am, and I don't wanna hide. Anyway, thanks for existing :) (I hope I didn't phrase some of this poorly😭)

Oh and also shout out to paraphiles of color! I can’t even count how many times people have insinuated to me or others (or even outright stated) that paraphilias are a white person only thing. They aren’t. And you’re not a failure for being a POC and a paraphile. You’re not less moral or pure for it. You’re amazing.

not a minor (18) so I won't be interacting here but i am so happy a space like this exists, I figured out I was a zoophile at 17 (though thoughts started long before then) and felt like I had no spaces that i could talk about it, as they were all adult only or completely unrestricted and unsafe to be in

anyways just glad to know minors have a safe space to explore their paraphilia <3

I feel like the fact that paraphilias are so often extremely taboo can lead to there being no safe space to talk about them… way too many young people with paraphilias fall into unsafe spaces because there’s nowhere else they feel accepted, so I’m happy to provide a spot for young paraphiles that is accepting and still safe for them

Shout out to paraphiles who are heavily involved in fandom and have to deal with shipping discourse! It’s difficult to let yourself have fun and/or cope with your attraction through fandom when people — regardless of shipcourse stance, there are paramisics in both anti and proship circles — make false claims about your attraction, harass you because of what you do with fiction, etc… you deserve to enjoy your interests/ find harmless outlets for your paraphilia in peace.

today i told my therapist i was a paraphiliac (specifically MAP & Zoo)! she's the first person i've told irl about it and i feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders
