Lunula amulet pectoral

47 cm (length)

Lunula amulets were worn to ward off evil. This piece is based on a Thracian example from the 4th or 3rd century BCE. It is entirely made out of sterling silver and with slightly thinner wire than the copper/alpaca one I made earlier.

Spiral and torc pendant

Smaller remake of a pendant I already made in copper, inspired by a Viking object that was found in Denmark, consisting of a spiral circle flanked by two rings of twisted wire. The suspension resembles fibula windings.

‘La Catrina’ chatelaine silver, brass and copper 20 cm x 7 cm

Chatelaine jewel inspired by the Mexican Día de Muertos, with chains ending in amulets referring to vanitas and time (a spiral, an hourglass, arms of a clock and the moon phases). Presented on the corset by Stammer Studio.

Hathor amulet silver and tagua 3.6 cm x 2.3 cm x 1.1 cm.

The ancient Egyptian goddess Hathor was often represented wearing a sun disk with cow horns as a headdress. She was the goddess of joy, beauty, love and music, patron goddess of miners and metalworkers.
