Read part 1 first!
Trying to survive your first evening living with Jungkook.
Pairing - Jungkook x fem!reader (Y/N used)
Intro: Jungkook is annoying. The mansion is confusing. Dinner is uncomfortable. You're starting to think moving here was a mistake.
âThanks, see you in a bit?â
You watch as Jungkook turns his back to youâshoulders loose, confident.Â
âMhm.â
Just as he reaches the door, he pauses, glances back with a now fully formed smirk.
âAnd Y/N? Wear something that fits. Oversized shirts donât work here.â
The implication hangs in the air as he shuts the door behind him, leaving you alone in your room.
A beat.
Thatâs how it should be though, right?
His words echo in your head, heavy and deliberate.
Just then, you slouch onto your bed face-first letting out an exhausted groan.
âThis is definitely going to be an interesting dinner.â
~
A few hours pass as you finish unpacking the luggage you have with you.
The worn-out feeling has you scrolling on your phone before checking the time.
6:15.
âUghh,â you whine. âI need to get ready, I do not want to find out what happens if I'm late.â
You get up and head to the bathroom, a hairbrush and razor in your hand.
As you reach the door it opens suddenlyâa freshly washed boy stands in the way. He freezes when he sees you, eyes dragging down your frame, then back up slowly.
âOh my gosh,â you quickly interrupt, covering your eyes. âI am so so sorry I did not know you were in there.â
âTiming.â He doesnât move. âDonât worry about it, I was opening your side of the bathroom to let you know I was done.â A laugh. âAlso you donât need to do all of that. Iâm covered up.
You uncover your eyes, looking down at the whole of his body.Â
Towel slung low on his hips, water still beading on his collarbones. Hair damp, skin flushed.
âYouâre staring.â
You blink back into focus.
âAm not,â you scoff. âI just didnât know you have a, uh⊠full sleeve.
You didnât notice until the last second.
âRight,â he laughs againâlow, rough. Still not covering up, just leaning against the doorframe blocking your path completely.
âWhen did you get all of that done?â you askâawkwardly, trying to make conversation to distract from his very defined eightâpack.Â
âA while ago now, my dad always tells me how much he hates it, so Iâm constantly covered up.â
âOh,â you stutter
âAnyways.â He stands up straight. âYou live here now. Gonna see more than this.â His tone drips amusement.
âI know you want to.â he jokes.
âOr keep hiding. Either works for me.â
You freeze.
âIs there some issue you have with me that Iâm not seeing?â
He pauses.
âAm I your entertainment now that youâre not alone?â
You stare, completely obvious.
The gorgeous face staring back at you now smirking. He allows you to look.
âEntertainment? Nah.â
The body before you now steps closer, towel riding lower.
âJust honest. You asked about problems earlierâthis is one.â
His gaze pins you in place, voice dropping to something almost dangerously.
Your eyes flicker back down to the towel at his waist.
He notices.
Of course he does.
âEyes up here if youâre gonna stare, Y/N.â
Your eyes quickly meet his.
âCan you just hurry up and get out of my way?â
His head tilts, amused at your words.
âI need to get ready if you expect me to be on time,â you argue, rolling your eyes as you place a firm hand against his chest pushing him back.
âSomeoneâs impatient.â
âI do have a time limit you know.â
Finally, he moves, turning to the door connected to his room.
He pauses one last time, âAnd Y/N? You rolled your eyes at me twice today. Keep it up and I might just cause problems.â
âWhatever, keep track if that helps you get out any quicker,â you scoff.
Jungkook finally exits the bathroom, laughing under his breath as he shuts the door.
Youâre left alone in the bathroom, catching your reflectionâflushed cheeks, crossed arms. Outside, you hear faint humming.
âUggh, I seriously need to hurry.â
The clock easily passes 6:40 as you wash up.
Rushing out, you grab the closest towel to you and hurriedly wrap it around your cold, drenched body, âEw this smells like a dog,â you groan, spitting dog hair from your mouth.
âI do not have time for this.â You brush the fur from your body, searching for a clean towel.
You pull one from the back of the door. âBetter.â
Now in your room, you immediately start digging through the messy drawers, already forgetting everything is different.
âWhere is anything?â you mutter, tossing a hoodie onto your bed.
Every shirt suddenly looks wrong.
Too casual.
Too dressy.
Too wrinkled.
And unfortunately, Jungkookâs stupid comment from earlier isnât helping.
You grab the first decent outfit you can find and change quickly before checking the time.
6:57.
âOh, you have got to be kidding me.â
You rush out of your room, nearly tripping over your own feet as you head toward the stairs.
The mansion somehow feels even bigger now.
Every hallway looks identical.
Every corner leads to another hallway.
âGreat. Lost already.â
You turn left.
Then right.
Then left again.
Nothing.
âNope. Definitely lost.â A laugh sounds from somewhere behind you.
You freeze.
Slowly turning around, you find Jungkook leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.
Again.
Why is he always leaning against something?
âYou look lost.â âIâm not.â
âYouâve walked past this hallway three times by now.â
Your jaw drops.
âI have not.â âYou have.â âI literally havenât.â He pushes off the wall.
âYou have.â
The grin on his face makes you want to throw something at him.
âWhatever.â
âMhm.â Without another word, he starts walking away.
You stand there for a second.
Then another.
Finally-
âAre you going to show me where the dining room is or not?â
He glances over his shoulder.
âYou coming?â You hate how amused he looks.
You hate it even more when he starts walking away again.
âYouâre impossible.â âAnd yet youâre following me,â he teases.
You roll your eyes.
âThatâs four.â âWhat?â âThe fourth eye roll today.â A laugh escapes before you can stop it.
Jungkook looks back at the sound.
For the first time all day, the teasing expression slips for a second.
Like he wasnât expecting you to laugh.
The moment passes quickly.
âThere it is.â âWhat?â
âThe dining room.â Sure enough, large doors stand open at the end of the hall.
Voices drift from inside.
Dinner.
Your stomach twists.
New house.
New family. New everything.
Jungkook notices you hesitate.
âHurry up.â
You glance at him.
His expression is unreadable.
Then he opens one of the doors and gestures inside.
âAfter you.â For once, he isnât smirking.
You enter, staring at the table.
Your mom sat next to Jungkookâs father.
âHere they are,â she announces.
âSorry for taking so long. I couldnât figure out the shower.â
âDonât worry about it dear.â
Jungkookâs father nods, warm but assessing.
âAdjusting takes time.â
âSomeone likes to mix up their priorities.â His tone light for his dad, but his eyes say heâs filing this away.
Staring back at Jungkook, your face reads; âShut up.â
He catches it and his smile widensâdeliberately ignoring you.
âY/N,â his father gestures to the seat.
âSit beside Jungkook. Heâll keep the conversation going.â Jungkook pulls out the chair, leaning closer as you sit.
âI always do,â he says before whispering; âEven when people stare.â
âThank you.â âAnytime.â
He pushes you in and sits beside you, thigh brushing yours under the table.
âSo, Y/N, how is your social life?â
âUh, good I guess.â Jungkookâs hand finds your knee under the tableâgrip light, warning.
âShe was quite popular at her old school.â Your mother interrupts.
âMom,â you stare at your food in embarrassment. âNo one says that anymore.â
Jungkook catches your expression, stroking his thumb once, slowly.
âY/N seems like an extrovert.â His voice drops.
âShe constantly rolls her eyes at me.â
You sharply turn to look at him, âI do not,â you chuckle awkwardly.
His eyes lock on yours, smile sharpening. âYou did. Upstairs. Twice.â He leans in, voice sharp, âI have witnessesâmirrors work.â His father laughs, oblivious. âThese two will adjust. Jungkook is particular about his space.â Jungkookâs hand slides higher on your thigh, barely noticeable. âVery.â
Pushing his hand away, âYep, just adjusting.â
You reach toward your mom, âPass the salt, please?â
Jungkook recaptures your hand under the tableâfingers lacing through yours, squeezing hard enough for you to feel it.Â
âSheâs already salty anyway, Mom.â
Annoyed, you squeeze his hand back. Releasing your hand, he drags his fingers.
âSee, Dad? Already bonding.â
His father nods approvingly while Jungkook cuts into his steak.
âSheâs got a good grip.â A pause.
âMakes up for other things she canât control.â
