When that guy reports his own "murder" to Athena and collapses, I feel like we are going to find out he was poisoned--referencing the title. Then the rest of the episode they try to find the source and realize his medication was laced with something, but little do they know the same thing is happening to Buck. But the doses are small and that's why the effects have been getting worse over time.

But Buck only took 2 pills from a prescription bottle, right??? And despite him skipping the most recent appointment, it’s implied he’s been seeing a therapist since NM went down. And he was clearly having an anxiety attack, building from the moment he froze in the kitchen after Eddie voiced that he was worried he’d lost Buck in the desert.

So why is everyone saying he’s addicted to pills???

Genuinely, I feel like a missed something! Because that opinion seems to be the consensus?

But I didn’t even think addiction until I saw someone mention it on TikTok. My immediate thought was PTSD/severe anxiety as a response to the trauma he faced and the reason he’s not telling Eddie/letting Eddie help is because he’s ashamed it’s affecting him so strongly.

Like, am I not seeing it because of the amount of real addicts versus real people with severe anxiety disorders I’ve known? Am I missing a trope or media shorthand? Please help.
