traffic cone hat, caution tape bindings and ribbon, bendy straw mace/wand, water bottle torso, shopping bag shoulders and then put into chains for her braids. fishing net stockings, pleather loincloth and ankle boots, with faux fur trim. her eyes are supposed to mimic bread tags :)

witch of grape seeds. this is a witch themed off of grape sno-cones 🍇 🍧 design notes below cut

i used one of those 'roll a number' and make an oc with the results and got her. the colors are approximate, but i dont think ive ever drawn a non-human skin tone before. i think shes adorable, but shes missing something, or at least shes off-looking.

i started sketching out that grape vine fedora before remembering my prompt included sleepy and whatnot... so she makes and sells witch hats. yes. haha. 👒

🍧 i then tried looking up "grape desserts". a lot of them are kinda bad looking... something about grape flesh is uniquely kind of unappealing. my wife threw out how grape sno-cones are great and then it matched my themes. so then i started that.

🍇 i changed it half way through the drawing, but the hat is supposed to be a sno cone paper cup. originally i had it kind of fold and droop like a sleeping cap with a Bunch of grapes hanging down.

🍇 but i feel like the cup being bent makes the snocone illusion go away. you can see my experimentation with a single drupe weighing the cap down in the sketches. i kinda like it, it sells the sleepy feeling more.

🍇 the colors that got selected were pretty lucky. with getting greens and purples, the grape theme came together so nicely it was shocking! the prompt called for heterochromia as well. i considered flipping the colors for the earrings too, but felt it was too much. but its a guilty favorite. i made the eyebrows curl slightly to match the hat color curve. also it looks good somehow?!

🍇 is it a bad time to admit im not sure how to draw straight hair? i can never make ot look right (note: artist has textured hair...)

🍇 autumn is my fav season but i wasnt sure how to marry all these concepts together. she ended up looking like a tired art student rather than a witch.... maybe thats the true problem? too many ingredients in the art prompt. look at the list on the left!!!! her skirt is supposed to look better plaid with an olivey brown for stripes but i forgot.

🍇 im a sucker for giving characters weapons even if theres no real reason for them to have it. i like designing characters and weapons, my curse overtakes me often. its a meat tenderizer with a large spoon on the other end. its for crushing ice for more sno-cones of course!!! its hard to see, but i wrote "SNO B D" on the hammer part because it KIND OF sounds like the spoken aloud abbreviation of "NBD", sno' big deal. then we would laaaaugh and laugh....its not too clever. ha

there you have it....... i believe its a fine design but thats just it... its fine.. i like her for sure, but i like her so much its frustrating that shes not quite "herself".... ill probably strip her of some of the concepts she came with. its all for fun....

Sepia. shes my trainer red for my "trainersonas". i played celebrations green and she evolved from that playthrough. oc yap under the cut :P

her design is based off of Green's design. i just made her more spiky, a little older bc i am older, and a cute fluffy jacket poncho thing.... haha. i think she feels like Green but still exists as herself. silent and vindictive jerk (ignore how i made her talk here. ignore that.), determined and resentful, absolute victory in battle is her focus. does NOT take losing well. wherever you go, nostalgia stalks... drives a shady truck after retiring to vermillion city, and rumored to have caught something rare just before leaving for a certain mountain...

i made her quite ruthless to reflect how easy the romhack felt, and how generous it was with pokemon. heres sepias trainer card i made.

cute right... i chose charmander and ended up finding the other two. i based her older design on this gentlewoman sprite (totally not blanking on the class) XP doy

i wanted to try and replicate the sugimori style from memory this time so i used her to test. her 46 yo self is in paldea currently, my violet trainer is there too in the right margin, Crimson. i go back and forth on having crimson be her chcild or something, just to explain why shes there for fun. but eh. crimson has their own thing going on lol.

but um i like her. shes probably nonbinary but the rockets r invading silph co so no time for that now

updated my pinned a little, yay. my art reqs are also open, but no promises. in the meanwhile, here are some ken sugimori art style tests i did.

it was mostly just browsing his works then looking between them and my page. i need more practice but i want to hone what ive got.

its not exactly tracing, but its not NOT tracing, haha. i hope i didnt accidentally get someones fanart DX this is just messing around so im not really too worried. its just scraps anyways for fun.

i really love this toriyama style formed anew he had in the day. although i feel a bit cliche talking about how much i enjoyed this old style, but im a dragon ball fan, i have something i gravitate towards i suppose....

i feel like i can mimic the style fine, but i cant utilize it. <- this is usually how style refinements go for me. i want to keep mimicking it and then slowly it will mutate into something my very own. that is my goal, and then ill be using it for my own monster tamer / creature catcher project haha. thanks for reading.

dan is my gfs newest recruit so they told me to draw him. his "brows" gave me a lot of trouble, but it looks the best bottom left imo haha. i like him a lot but i havent played with his kit yet.
