I fall for it every time :/
i will never forget in 2022 when i went to the same starbucks every day for like 4 months. and every day i ordered the same thing (grande iced matcha latte with oat milk). and every day it was the same barista and he was so rude to me every single time. and then one day i got in line and he immediately started making my matcha latte when he saw me and as i went to grab it off the counter, he stopped me and looked in my eyes and said "i'm sorry i'm such an asshole to you every day. this job sucks everyone is such a dick to me and youre the only regular who isnt so i take it out on you. and that probably wont change but im sorry anyway." and then the next time i went, he was rude as fuck to me again like nothing had ever happened. life is so strange.
zac, at the beginning of the quangle: wouldn't it be funny if gorgug loved cody since ricky famously hates him
zac, 15 minutes later: oh i just remembered cody sucks. how do i get out of this

I STEPPED OUTSIDE OF THE FRONT DOOR OF MY OWN HOME ONLY TO FIND THE DEER THAT TRIED TO KICK MY ASS LAST YEAR STANDING RIGHT THERE IN MY FRONT YARD. BOLD AS BRASS.
AM I NOT SAFE ANYWHERE ANYMORE
for those of you who were not here last year: this deer is the most obnoxious, unnatural red-orange color I’ve ever seen, only appears when it’s raining, and once chased me a quarter mile through the woods. her name is Hot Cheeto Hatred and she is my nemesis
dude, i think that’s a fairy
This is an incredible story.
A man assassinates a former prime minister and gives his demands to the government who turn around and go “Actually yeah, these are quite a good ideas.”
By far the most successful assassin in history, tbh. It's like if someone bodied Reagan and a month later we got police/drug reforms
imagine getting this review
I guarantee that Monica at the front desk has not been able to live this review down and her coworkers absolutely bring it up regularly.
If I were Monica I'd print this review out and frame it
Fabian Seacaster is an enigma to me, not because of who he is, but because how I feel about him. Fabian Seacaster is entitled, spoiled, self-absorbed, rich, rude, and worst of all, a teenage boy. He believes he's the coolest person in the world and deserves everything good and cool to happen to him. You're supposed to like him, but want him to be humbled, go through character growth and realise everything isn't about coolness. Yet. Yet that's not the fucking case. Every single time Fabian tries something cool I want him to succeed. I want him to win all his fights even when it's unreasonable that he should. He starts PvP with Pete fucking Conlan, the sweetest guy ever. A trans man from New York with a pet butterfly who lives with five roommates and is best friends with a goth and 60 year old, he's always dressed in a cowboy hat and fishnet shirt. And I love him. And I'm still rooting for this entitled little shit to win. He doesn't deserve to. And yet.
The Dublin spire isn't a bad looking landmark per se but why does it look like it was specifically designed to pop blimps
It looks like whoever designed this hates balloons.
It's a 120 meter tall stainless steel spike. Can't go in it.
this looks like it was designed specifically so you could trip a kaiju and impale them with it
I used to hate it, but it actually makes more sense when you're actually in/moving around Dublin lol.
Most buildings in Dublin are less than 5 storeys high, so you can see the Spire from most of the city centre, and get to the rest of the city from it fairly easily.
The Spire is designed so it works as a landmark you can see from almost anywhere.
Before Google Maps was really a thing, and even now it is, you could use it as a physical reference point to move around the city, and you're kind of drawn to it one way or the other naturally. It's kind of a giant IRL map pin.
That means there's always a group of people at the base; teenagers meeting up with their buddies before setting off for the day, tour groups, folks from out of town just off the bus waiting their friends, and - my perpetual favourite - well dressed people with visible nerves trying to act cool as they wait for their dates.
So rather than a blimp defense system, think of it more like a spawn point.
Also when there's a Star Wars movie they turn it into a lightsaber.
for those interested, this is a good example of how "Major structure you can see from everywhere" is a good thing for cities. The needle, though maybe not loved by everyone, is exactly as EJF says - a navigational reference point.
If you were ever lost, you could look for the needle and identify a major spot in the city. This can help avoid getting turned around (since you can track your direction in reference to a single point) , or provide a known spot to return to if you get disoriented.
This would also mean that if someone was new, they could learn the directions from the needle to where they were staying, and then travel the rest of the city with confidence that they can find their way back when they are done.
Water towers can serve a similar purpose in smaller towns, which is one of the reasons why they're often kept, even when no longer used for storing water.
In conclusion, make fun of how it looks all you want, but this giant needle is now part of vital city infrastructure.
if it's stupid and it works it's not stupid
minecraft noob tower
tbh i love looking at post history of random strangers on reddit. Like you're a professional mechanic who collects old coins and has a small shrine dedicated to sailor moon? You're a hobby equestrian from Missouri who's really invested in the stock prices of beanie babies and has a startling amount of knowledge around cooking indian food? You're a firefighter dispensing advice to younger firefighters but also cannot stay off the femdom cuck roleplay threads for more than a day? We all contain multitudes.
Haven't drawn anything from this show in a long while

top albums list
bring back our cities map. I would love to hear that I listen to the same music as people in utah ok?
take each top song of the week and make that a 52 song playlist (or however many weeks it is before they stop counting stats)
genres???
top genres that are normal. I don't care if "pop" "rap" "folk" are basic terms. I would rather have that than "sunrise granola van life christian" ???
genres by month but using those wheel things they did with artists last year (they should bring that back too but—). did the summer see a rise and fall in country music? was winter a rise and fall of folk?
what was the first song you listened to this year. what time of jan 1 did you play it on
what date did you play your first Christmas/holiday music on
we're halfway through this decade! how has your taste changed in the last 6 years (related: take the top 10 songs from 2020-2025 and put them into one playlist) (they HAVE to do something with this in 2029 or I swear—)
"you listened to 45,000 minutes of music this year" great! follow it with "that's 31 straight days of music!" make me horrified that I spent an entire month of my year just listening to music
better visual design. this was so tech-y. so odd. even last year was those pixel things. make it cute, fun, whimsy. can genres determine colors people get more in their panels. shapes for each genre, artist, whatever. etc etc. give the designers more freedom
the personality thing they used to do. that was fun. personal. had some flair. makes people identify with A Thing and then with other people that are The Same As Me. which is like #1 in marketing. this is not a hard science
got my wrapped
I feel like in an Aabria campaign The BBEG is interlocking systems of oppression and the ways they make us all part of the BBEG if we don't actively resist them.
Or as Aabria says, "what is the lie this world believes."
💯
The lie most fantasy worlds believe is that there's a specific and knowable number of people you can punch that will fix a broken system. The truth is, these systems are not aberrations within a fundamentally just world, requiring only a moment of sublime destabilization for things to be good again; they are working as intended and will reemerge like weeds without diligent effort to destroy their roots and replace them with better structures. Likewise, the hero's hubris sits in the belief that destroying a BBEG is the end of their journey.
Look, I love a Big Bad.
I LOVE getting to spit a nasty lil villain monologue.
I love imagination-boxing my friends! But I HATE the idea that these lovely stories, so tied to aspirations of heroism, hope, and fighting the good fight, mostly do not speak to what is actually required to dismantle and replace systems of oppression.
And when well-intended people are moved to act but lack the understanding of both the scope of the problem and the tools they wield to enact change, you get K "fixing" Evan's arm on Fire Island 2. Oop! The theme was there the whooooole time!
Thank you for the amazing season @quiddie ! 💜✨
