So I might be deaf!

A lot of the music shows included making sure that the theme of the show is clearly shown and the audience understands what envoirment they are getting into and well with this show that was achieved every well however just felt like that was the only thing that they sole-y focused on making every other factor full kind of flat for me.

However I will say the narrator character was every entertaining and Dr White and Black gags really hit there mark and I wish we could have heard a lot more from them but some times it jut felt I was going through a bit of noise waiting to leave and I know there was a lot of work gone into this show but it didnt feel like a show to me more like someone put three Ipods on at the same time play three completly different songs.

Overall I dont think I could really tell anyone to see this show because I still not sure what the point of the show was.

Setting the Bar

Was the travel up to London worth seeing the HNDs? I think that that is pretty easy to answer just by the opening of the piece starting with the very entertaining Michael May and his consent return really brought a great diversity to his acting ability making him a really show maker through the showcase.

The pieces present were all very interesting from a man trying to lose weight to a family copping with the murder of one of their members so it the commitment of every actor that needed to be present to make sure that all of the themes were presented correctly and this was somewhat achieved meaning that some scenes felt that the actors were really in the moment and others just felt they were saying lines.

Overall it looks like that there is going to be a lot of completion in the industry after seeing what the HNDs can do so it looks like I will be needing to step up my game.

Just in front of the nose...

The lights dimmed and I immediately found myself immersed in the setting of WW2. Barbed Wire? No. A new war and a new battle. No Frenchies on top of the Trench but the Germans are there and theres a ghost on The battle field.

The first glimpse of the play was Harriet with a harrowing monologue beautifully delivered. As the play started and hooded snipers descended onto the set it seemed like a cross between an Radioactive Assassins Creed scene. All looking menacing especially holding their rifles and 3 Russians Gangsters under their radar.

The Russian officers fighting bravely under the red flag of their country as patriotic as the rest. The Mothers of Russia giving a spooky insight to the likes of what the hell is happening! And as for the family waiting for their Father to come home a stunning portrayal of life in the hellish Stalingrad. The Germans holding their position at the end of the set everyday slipping out of reality and patience Tick... Tock...BANG! The Russian Army striking off their tally of Kills.

The Russian Gangsters and their ghostly enemy. With comedy from deal, deal... Bust! To sadness with a wedding tragedy and a bitter hanging ending.

I can type my heart out but nothing can explain the smile I had on my face throughout. A personal message you guys did fantastic. Not at one point did you not convince me where and when we were. In short I enjoyed it and looking forward to see what else you can produce.

Stalingrad !

I went to see Stalingrad on Thursday 21st March and my initial reaction to the performance was that it was amazing. The first thing to grab my attention was the set. I think the set really helped to create the right atmosphere in the theatre before the show even started. There was obviously a lot of work put in to the making of the set and it really paid off as it looked fantastic. I also think the costume really helped to complete the show as well. I think the performances though out the show from each individual were all so convincing. It was hard to believe they were only 1st year actors and I feel that everyone really committed to their character. The actor who played the old woman was a personal favourite of mine, she brought a sense of humour to the show which broke up the serious tone that went on throughout most of the show. Although the theme of the show, War, is serious it was good to have comedy in it to lighten the mood in the audience. My only negatives about the show would be the seating and the fast pace of events. I feel the story was quite a confusing one and the fast pace and jumping to different scenes didn't help with the complication of it. I understood the basic outline of the story and I imagine if i was to watch it again I would probably understand it in more detail, therefore enjoying it more. Another negative would be the seating. Although it looked very effective and complimented the rest of the set I found it quite uncomfortable. I often had to readjust how I was sitting and it was very cramped too. But overall I was really impressed with the show and cannot wait to see the next one.

Gangsters, Snipers and Soldiers, oh my!

On Thursday 21st I went and saw Stalin Grad performed by the first year actors. I was I automatically intrigued by the usual set. The use of various levels and areas was different and all made possible by the unique set. The down side to this was the actual seating. The high benches, although thoughtful enough to have cushions, were far too high for a short stack like me to easily slip on and off of, my feet couldn't even touch the ground to be able to share the body weight that my back had to take on its own. With no backs to the chairs it was uncomfortable to sit and concentrate on what was going on as I kept getting drawn the the burning sensation in my back. It ruined my experience as it drew some of my attention away from the actors whom which I primarily there to see. I did like the effective hangings on the top level at the beginning as it caught my eye as soon as I sat down and looked really realistic. I could tell it was foreshadowing their deaths that would inevitably happen later on and it made we want to watch it to see how they came around to have been given the death sentence. From what I did observe and understand from the story I enjoy, albeit confusing and fast paced I managed to get the general understanding of the story which was definitely down to the all actors talent. I really enjoyed the actress who played the old woman, she injected the comedy needed, (although I'm not quite sure why or how it was connected to everything else it definitely lightened the whole thing) she also managed to really make me feel as if I was actually watching an old woman rather than a young adult attempting to play an old woman, she was definitely my favourite character! The girl who played the mum in that section was also a very strong actress, I thought she was confident and in character the whole time and added to the humour. I was disappointed when during the story I discovered it to be set in Russia as no character put on an accent apart from one gangster who confusing had a Scottish accent that seemed to fade into English every once in a while. It would have been nice to be able to immediately tell who was Russian and who was German. I think when they redo this piece in October time it would be nice to see that they have built the skill to be able to perform that. Although I have pointed out a few criticisms I did enjoy the performance as a whole and I think the level of acting in the first year is very high and I can't wait to see how they can harness their skill, progress in the time given and apply it to make the piece even better next time around.

The New Barbed Wire, hmmm...Well That's Debatable.

I suppose there was always going to be a foreboding feeling of nostalgia when seeing Stalingrad for us second years, as we had gone through the very same thing a year prior to this show and because of that I guess there was always going to be more of a judging tone when reviewing it. To us Barbed Wire was king and for anyone to threaten that title was seen as some sort of a blasphemes cretin. Negative thoughts aside I must say I did enjoy this show.

Dare I say it… but as I walked into the auditorium, my mind’s eye was overwhelmed with a smorgasbord of visual treats, most notably the slap in the face set which makes you think I could just watch this and get my money’s worth. Scattered throughout the set that God would envy, were dark little red herrings that prophesised the end of the show which were quite enriching when I figured it out, plus they set the tone for what was to be a murky ominous show.

In terms of the show, it was somewhat squiffy in its narrative. The show seemed to be all over the place at times and some characters story arcs ended without so much as a reasonable explanation. Now I’m not one for being spoon fed the answers but a step in the right direction is appreciated, unfortunately that wasn’t given in some cases. The most notable case of this was with the “officer” characters played by Erol Uzunhasan, Blake Palmer and Joseph Spinks. Very similar characters with very similar voice patterns so it would be hard to tell them apart if I had my eyes closed, but there story just seemed to end abruptly like an episode of The Soprano’s.

Dodgy narrative aside, It must be said that the writing of the show is superb and some scenes and its dialogue some actors would give their front teeth to perform. Some of the actors in the show where very lucky to get some of the dialogue they were given, but I can’t help but feel that some of the actors didn’t really give the dialogue justice in their performances. I’m not sure if some of the actors went all the way with their characters and gave all they could have given and in some cases some of the actors were swallowed by their colossus of a set.

I’m afraid the biggest negative I can give for the show is that it’s narrative was dodgy and I didn’t know what was happening half the time (although maybe it’s the kind of show you have to see more than once) and that I was more a fan of the writing and characters then I was of the acting.

Having said that, there were some performances that must be applauded. Sam Black. There is one word I can sum up his performance with…”actor”. Without a shadow of a doubt he carried the show for me. He had great support from Julia Johnson and Jordan Kinson, more so from Julia as I thought Jordan’s performance didn’t give enough of the pace I thought the character needed. I thought that Shannon Harris as the senile old grandma was a delightful comic treat that made me laugh, which is a hard thing to do, but I think a real standout performance came from Harriet Avery. I wasn’t really aware of her in the last show, but for this she came out of nowhere. She gave a really grounded, emotional performance and I really believed her ordeal on stage. 

It’s these performances and a host of other things that have made me really believe that this company has potential and I actually await the day I get to work with them. Although one question does still plague my mind. In a show of Russians and Germans etc, why was there a somewhat out of place Scottish gangster in the midst of it all played by Amy Campbell? It plague’s the mind. A good entertaining show with some unfortunate flaws but overall I award Stalingrad 3.5/5.

Spectral Bringings and Captivating Stories

Judging from the intense connection I had with my own TIE and the understanding I'd gotten for it, I was excited to see what Stalingrad company would do with the piece. I knew absolutely nothing about the events of Stalingrad, and found I left having been enlightened by 'Stalingrad', as well as having seen an amazing piece of theatre. The show was opened by intense surprise, Harriet Avery , whose take on vengeance was chilling and believable. Strong gangster trio, Az, Baz and Cazz all brought a unique dynamic to the show, with a mix of comedy and thrilling drama, revolving around Baz, portrayed by Jordan Kinson whose wife was murdered at his wedding, which added a supernatural emphasis on the piece at times, which was certainly different; never boring to watch. Sam Black as Az was a very different character than he had been on previous show 'The Nose', which let us into a note of vulnerability he has as a character, which was nice to see, and really quite sad at points. Kandiss Agar was a joy to watch, and bursting with energy which really was contagious, and left me smiling, as did Rowen Bodle, who had me laughing in every scene, with her tactless nature as the character and watching her trying to get her family together was just hysterical. The set was a spectacle to look upon, especially the stairway of sorts leading up into the heavens, which made Joseph's death scene between him and the snipers more tense, coupled with believable and poignant acting from all parties. The only thing I would mention was that sometimes I couldn't hear some actors that were further away, and sometimes the set obstructed some actors, especially in the middle. Apart from that, I found it a thrill to watch and the result of great collaborative work from a company together.

Stalingrad!

On Saturday I went to go and watch the first years perform the T.I.E production Stalingrad. I must say before-hand I was very excited about seeing this show, however, was quite bored watching parts of the show and I did not understand the storyline. Nevertheless, there were a handful of actors that really stood out for me throughout the whole production and I thought they done really well in portraying their characters truthfully, and personally they made the show good for me and fully got me engaged. The actors in the production that stood out for me are Harriet, Dave, Levi, Shan, Rowen, Julia, Sam Black, Jordan Kinson, Alex, Lewis J, Lily B-F, Chloe, Josey, Fode, Kandiss, Emma G, Rebecca C, Ryan C, all the male snipers, etc. I HATED the seating layout couldn’t even see all the actors which was just pointless. I really liked the set design as well as the lighting design, and overall I thought it was a good show but could have been much better in certain parts of the play.

Stalingrad review!

I watched the first year actors show of stalingrad on the 20th of march and wasn't quite sure what to expect but as I soon as I walked in the unusual layout of set really caught my eye and how some people were hanging and there was a girl sat at the front just looking around and smiling as we walked in. and I couldn't wait to see how they are going to use these characters in the piece and how they are part of the story. The first half I found was quite hard to follow at first because I wasn't sure what the story was about but I thoroughly enjoyed each character as each one was different even if they are part of the same group like the gangsters am soldiers etc. Everyone's character was believable and portrayed by each person very well and I didn't get bored of any characters because they are always switching scenes and coming off and on stage at different points which made it more exciting because there is always something going on. I thought the use of the girl who was the ghost sniper walking through the set really spooky but very effective because each time she walked through I wanted to know why she's there and how she connects into the story so I thought the idea of using her like that was very clever. I liked the contrast of characters between the soldiers ,snipers ,generals and gangsters and the civilians of Stalingrad because they all brought something different to the story because I would of expecte it to be just about the soldiers but the fact they included everyone around in that time period was really fun and interesting. The use of the guns was also really good because they made it exciting and scary and times and I have to say It made me jump every time but that's what made it even more interesting to watch.

The second was more fast moving I thought but still a really good standard and all the actors kept up there character and energy levels. The second half was more emotional for me as you go into detail with people's stories and one of the girl snipers who told the story of how she killed a little girl made me really emotion because she was getting emotional telling it and she started to cry so it was really good how she was able to move me with this story. I liked how the ending connected to the opening set with the gangsters hanging and how everything pieces together at the end. I really enjoyed this show and thought every actor done an amazing job and was so professional can't wait to see the next show. Well done everyone!

Tick... Tock... Bang!

The battle of Stalingrad isn't something I'm familiar with, so I wasn't sure of how I would feel about the piece. However I did know that this company can produce an amazing show and they certainly proved that they can continue to do so.

'Stalingrad' is a unique play set in Russia at the battle of Stalingrad where rival gangs have taken over and battle for power. The story didn't just follow one story, in fact there was five or six different stories wrapped into one play. The main story was that of the mob bosses (Jordan Kinson, Sam Black and Julia Johnson). All three of these characters blew me away and definitely stole the show. There struggle for power against each other whilst also dealing with their surroundings and personal problems was portrayed sensationally and I believed every word. In fact the standout moment for me came from Julia Johnson in her monologue to Giorgi's wife. Two other groups who I found myself wanting more from were the male snipers and the German soldiers. They were two similar groups of characters both trying to cope with their situation. They all gave very believable, relatable and real performances which made me feel for them and hanging onto their every word. The many plays within a play worked extremely well, but it never came full circle. Most of the stories didn't meet the others. Which I felt was a bit disappointing. It ended quite abruptly.

The set was great. I've never seen anything like it. However because of its size it could swallow the actors at some points but they used it well to hold all of the different pockets of people. The layout of the audience was definitely a disadvantage I feel. It was quite uncomfortable and from where I was sitting not all of the actors were visible, which was a major let down. I'm well aware this has nothing to do with the actors but it just didn't work in their favour.

'Stalingrad' was very high tension, edge of your seat stuff that I really enjoyed. I just hope next time I'll be able to actually see everyone and be a bit more comfortable. That way I feel I'll be able to enjoy the show even more. However, well done to the actors. I'm looking forward to what you guys bring next.

Stalingrad...the story i knew nothing of has been ressurected. (Review)

Witnessing a new T.I.E. has been quite the experience for me, as i've been so used to Hanging on the old Barbed Wire since 2012. I was very exicted to see what these new passionate actors had produced. A story that revolves around the horrors of World War Two was portrayed with passion, surprise, tension filled moments and mixed performances! Stalingrad was a story i knew pretty much nothing about. It's one that should be remembered and the actors gave the story a lot of justice.

However, the story that was layed out seemed to be a bit all over the place for me, i struggled to understand what was going on at times, it seemed to shoot from place to place. As i was just getting gripped on one particular story it would switch to something completely different and i found it hard to adjust. But the entertainment factor was definitley there! There was always something happening. The two groups of characters that really grabbed my interest were the male snipers and the german soldiers. I was always looking forward to hearing from them next. Ryan Chambers, Levi Wotton and David Ellis who played Joseph Kreutz really stood out to me along with Tommy Gorman, Jordan Ledgerwood, Stephen Edwards and Jack Lloyd. Their stories had me gripped whenever they was in the spot light. Ryan Chambers' character was very intriguing becuase of his state of mind. A German soldier that has lost grip with reality and is totally obsessed with his watch is a character worth watching. The snipers, i thought, were very relatable and the actors that portrayed them gave a lot of realism to the characters. They had heart and determination behind their eyes. Sam Black, who portrayed "Az" almost stole the show for me, his prescence and character blew me away. He made me chuckle and he made me feel sympathetic towards his character even though he's a bit of a buffoon. Jordan Kinson and Julia Johnson were excellent supporters of Sam Black and created a fantastic trio of charactersbut i'm not sure if it was meant to be the other way around, for example i couldn't figure out who was meant to be the highest status between the three of them. Sam Black because of his prescence stood out to me the most. The russian officers played by Erol Uzunhasan, Blake Palmer and Joseph Spinks had so much more to offer in my opinion, their stories wern't finished, i felt more could of been shown with them. The status between the three of them wasn't very clear either. Blake's character seemed to be the angry more, unstable one whereas the other two seemed too simular. I think the show could of been slightly better for me if the characters had produced accents for example the german soldiers sounded to English which was a tad non-believable for me. But then again that could of worked out badly as accents are very tough to do and have to be done perfectly to work.

The tension was incredibly high in this show, it had me on the edge of my seat at all times. There were a lot of standoffs, Reservoir Dogs style, which got me gripped. It got me thinking "Are they gonna shoot eachother? Who's gonna get it?". When the ending did come and characters lost it, i was left with my jaw hanging wide open. So in my opinion the show suceeded for me in many ways. I expected more emotional music and overall the show could of been much more emotionally attaching. But for me i only felt upset for these characters and stories once during a monologue performed by the character "Lilya".

Stalingrad was a unique and hugely entertaining show from very unique actors and i look forward to working with everyone on the next show!

Two and a half leaders

The main aim for the T.I.E in my opinion is to get the audience to gain an understand and for them to care for the characters that have been presented to them and this company really have a talent for that making their T.I.E a massive success.

The characters ttaa I really seemed to enjoy throughout the perfromance was the three gang leaders played by Sam Black, Jordan Kinson and Julia Johnson all three of them brought a strong,likeable character to the table and getting the chance to see the evoluation of their character was the icying on the cake my favourite scene that involved all of them was where Sam's character's luck finally had changed until the game was interupted the way the manipulative gangsters brought them selfs to power really showed the commitment they all had towards this piece. And what can I said I love watching actors getting slapped and good on you Sam for taking so meny.

Something that I havent even seen at the Miskin was present thh use the set was very mastered in their performance I think a great example of this is the snipers that really used the set to their advancetage really making it clear that they would have full view of the area.

The one nit pick that I would have on this show would be that isnt wasnt clear that it was three seprate gangs until a fellow actor pointed it out to me for me it would have been nice to see for a separtion of who is on who's side.

Overall this T.I.E has has really pecked my interest further in this company and like I said in my nose review I can't wait to see where they move on to next.

A shrouded Stalingrad

An educationally enticing piece is thrust upon the audience by a growing in confidence first year acting company that tells the story of the battle of Stalingrad.

I can safely say it is physically impossible for anyone to say that this piece was ‘boring’ in any way shape or form. If they do they’re lying. I was constantly on the edge of my cushion of a seat for the whole piece. This was partly down to my insane phobia of loud gun shots!

The set and overall layout of the production was immensely great. I had no idea such things could be done with the auditorium, personally I’d rather have sat in a proper seat rather than on a cushion but you can’t have it all. This said, I do feel that at the productions current stage, the set swallowed a lot of the performances on stage. The foundations for a really strong piece are presented to its audience. The piece clearly means a lot to this company however there were so many words being swallowed and more importantly emotion being channelled to the audience in a misinterpreted form. The closing narrative, as were many of the varied speeches, came across to me as if the actors were trying to say “feel sad for me, feel sad for me!” and some felt like nothing more than a monotonous whinge. I am fully aware this isn’t the intention of the actors at all but this is personally what I felt from a lot of speeches.

Needless to say I didn’t know an awful lot about Stalingrad and by watching this piece I came away having a shrouded idea of its premise which righteously keeps the heart of the TIE alive.

I am intrigued to see how this company will develop the piece over the coming months as they pick up and undercover new skills over forthcoming processes. All in all I am excited to see the foundations have been firmly placed for the piece but now a lot of work needs to be done to take it even further. My flaws are that some characters seemed monotonous; others inaudible and others seemed to constantly be aggressive from start to finish, giving the characters journey nowhere else to roam. I commend you all however for making me laugh at points and most of all have about several heart attacks when a gunshot was released.

A commendable show but its journey has just started.

Stalingrad! - Twist , Twist , Bust!!

As I walked in to the auditorium I thought to myself it felt like walking into Barbed wire. Just the smell brought back memories of the smell of the trench. It was an experience within itself I've never seen a set like it. It was really peculiar and got me thinking what I could be expecting, but shutting all the thoughts off I continued to watch the show with an open mind. 

The opening was such a strong and powerful image. The actor was engaged with the audience and told her story of what happened. I was happy that the space was used well through out and was all over the place. I got a little confused at first but other than that I was intrigued. 

I noticed that through out the show the play consisted of the red cloth but it was used differently when I say that I mean as horses rains, I found this unusual but realised in this piece the red cloth didn't have a significant meaning. 

Quite a few actors stood out to me a lot one being the grandma played by Shannon. She made me giggle a lot and even though majority of the stories through  was really heart breaking Shannon's character brought a lightness to the piece and that whole family scene. Also the 3 main Gangsters really stood out to me a lot. Actors Sam Black, Julia and Joseph Kingston. These actors were really commited to their parts and really understood their. Stories they had which made me as an audience believe what they was saying.  

I had a thought the play reminded me off a story within a play. This occurred to me that when you had the story of the bride and one of the gangsters (Joseph Kingston and Josie) and then you had the trench boys and then the gangster, the Snipers  and then the family. 

I found this show really interesting and it engaged me as an audience member to research of my own so I have more of an understanding of the piece itself. Well done 1st years.

Gangsters, Snippers And A Lot Of Confusion

On the evening of the 21st March, I went and saw the first year Miskin company put on their T.I.E based on the Battle of Starlingrad. I have no knowledge of this historical part in time so for me this was extremely confusing. I walked out of the theatre and was extremely bewildered by what I had just saw. If anyone asked me anything about the piece and the storyline I wouldn't be able to tell you. The set was extraordinary. There was so much to play on that you didn't know where to look. I did feel sorry for the audience members sitting the other side of the auditorium because I didn't no if they would of been able to see a lot of the play itself. The only risk for this set was the volume of the actors voices and most of the time it managed to carry but sometimes the dialogue got lost which made it harder to understand. The imagery it created with the snipper women always being at the top and the main gangsters family played by Sam Black was interesting. I was disappointed that I never got to see a lot from the officers.  The acting inside the piece I had high expectations for after seeing this company in there first production of 'the nose'. I was really surprised and it was nice to see the actors who didn't have a spoken role in the nose speak. There was a few actors who stood out to me the most which was Shannon Harris who played the Grandmother. Just by having a few lines she created a light hearted character who the audience became attached to, especially when Rowan's character dragged her back into the house with force. You also had the three main gangsters played by Sam Black, Jordan Kinston and Julia Johnson. The chemistry between these three was awesome. The different characters inside them was a joy to watch and although it was confusing why they got killed at the end the comedy inside the card games was humorous and great to watch. However the character that stood out to me the most was Ryan Chambers character who had the watch. His story intrigued me the most and everything he said drew me in and I understood his personal story the most. It is a massive production and the actors inside the company done a good job and if I can I can't wait to see how they progress with it and put it on again in October.  The music inside the piece was phenomenal and quite a few times gave me goosebumps. The atmosphere it created did help create the time and suffering everyone was going through. This is my favourite score of a production so far.  There was only a few mishaps but they were outdone by the company being able to deal with it professionally. The only major problem for me was projection. Because being so wide a stage some actors voice's didnt carry enough so we could hear them, which I know is hard as a fellow actor I know all about. I think now that the actors have their characters they need to focus on the story and making it clear to the audience what is happening. Overall I don't know what to make of the show, because I was so confused throughout that it made me dislike it, but thinking back to it now the characters inside the piece was intriguing to watch even if I was unaware of what was going on. A good show people should go and see!

Is there someone at the door?

The T.I.E of Stalingrad, performed by a company of actors, showed up on Miskin Theatre’s door step on 21st March 2013. Three Russian gangsters under the radar of the Russian snipers, a ghost sniper lurks the city and the war between the Russian and German army still carries on.

  The first act filled with scenes and cut across music wasn’t the best part for me; I enjoyed the scenes - no doubt, yet I felt that there was something missing. The accent, I didn’t feel like I was in Russia until Amy Campbell spoke, yet it sounded a little off at some points, it gave me a clear indication of where they were. Within all the darkness of the first act, Shannon Harris who played the grandma was a light funny character that kept the audience laughing, Yasmin Gattase one of the children also had lightness in the piece.

The Russian Officers, Erol, Blake and Joseph Spinks had good clarity and diction in their voices but I think Spinks had really good diction, I could hear a slight lisp from Erol with his “s’”. The first half was quite confusing at times with the way it was set out.  

The opening to the second half of the show was very creative with Harriet Avery leading, the flags of red symbolised the blood that would be spilt and the culture of where they are. The first two were in unison, but the rest seemed to be going the wrong way or behind, I think it would have looked a lot cleaner and better if it was all doing in unison.  

A great show, with a lot of good actors, it’s a great pleasure to watch something done by this company.

Run Lola Run Review

As i was unable to watch the last Musical piece incorporated with a film, this was something new for me to see. I wasnt sure what to expect expecially as i was told it was in german, However it was very enjoyable. The main storyline was simple, yet had branches off which could possible change the ending. Lola needed to get somewhere in a given time and the end result could cause her husband to get into a lot of trouble for him simple not waiting for her or her not getting there at the asigned time. 

I really enjoyed how well the music flowed within the film, it made it very like you were apart of it expecially the constant running music as you soon got used to the certain music for the different scenerio's. The film itself was very interesting, the three different scenerio's meant the ending would be very different which would then have contrasting music to back up the point being made. The music really built up the atmosphere and the feeling towards what was next, which kept you guessing as the beginning would always be the same. 

I feel the three times was the correct amount without it feeling the same and getting boring, but the music kept it uplifting and kept me intrigued throughout. The contracting three pieces worked really well and the happy ending was a nice finish to a fully active, busy piece of theatre. It was nice to see the circumstances for example something so contrasting when Lola finds out her dad actually isnt her dad, and then her having to think on her feet and showed what people do for those they love. 

Overall i really enjoyed this piece and even with it being in german i soon got into it and reading the substiles came quickly, The music within the piece was brillant and for being constant for over an hour was really a applauding performance.
