Mi colección de libros (y otras cosas) de El Principito. Mayo 2013. Si hay algo que no me canso de agradecerle a Barcelona y a mi vida aquí es la posibilidad de conocer gente de otros países, amigos, conocidos, gente que se va haciendo poco a poco espacio en tu corazón. Eric, es uno de ellos. Un periodista danés con quién Fran (mi chico) ha tenido la posibilidad de trabajar / colaborar en artículos publicados en diarios escandinavos. Un buen hombre a quién invitamos a comer arepas en casa y quién supo de mi colección, él es el responsable de mi Principito en Danés :)

Dato curioso: Es una bonita edición de tapa dura. Elegí también un dibujo al que le dedican una página: El Principito y los Baobabs.

May 2013. If there's something for that I'd always be thankful to Barcelona and living here, will be the possibility of meeting people from other countries, friends and people who gets into your heart little by little. Erik is one of them. A Danish journalist with whom Fran (my boyfriend) had the opportunity to work / colaborate with publishing articles in Scandinavian newspapers. A good man who we invited to eat arepas at home and who found out about my collection, he's responsible for my Little Prince in Danish :) Curious thing: Is a nice hard cover edition. I also chose the subject of dedicated drawing in on the pages: The Little Prince and the Baobabs.

Enero 2009. Caminaba con mi mamá, Fran, Peter y Yeli por Amsterdam y encontramos una librería genial que en la vitrina tenía varias ediciones de El Principito, no lo pensé demasiado.. compré 3 ó 4 libros (actualizaré esta información cuando termine de escanear las portadas, por ahora van 2) y entre ellos conseguí esta maravilla. El Principito en yidis, ídish, yídico o yídish

Dato curioso: La mitad del libro está en carácteres hebreos y la otra mitad en carácteres latinos.

January, 2009. I was walking around Amsterdam with my mom, Fran, Peter and Yeli and we found this amazing bookshop that had many editions of The Little Prince in the showcase. I didn't think twice and I bought 3 or 4 books (I'll update this info once I end scanning the covers) and among them was this beauty. The Little Prince in Yiddish. Curious thing: Half the book is written in Hebrew characters and the other in Latin characters.

Entre el 2010 y 2012. Un libro con dedicatoria, pero extrañamente sin fecha. Me lo regaló Julián, mi amigo y colaborador fiel de esta colección. Es una edición muy bonita de tapa dura, pareciera tener pocas páginas, y usa de contra portada una imagen poco utilizada pero sin duda uno de los dibujos más significativos del libro. Gracias a Shuri, el amigo de Julián, quién escribió la dedicatoria en su nombre. El principito en hebreo. 

Dato curioso: Las letras de la portada con el título del libro están hechas de color dorado y son muy bonitas.

Between 2010 and 2012. A book with a dedicatory, but strangely without a date. It was a gift from Julian, my friend and faithful collaborator of this collection. It's a very beautiful edition with hard cover, it seems like it has only few pages and in the inside front cover there's a not so very used but very significative drawing of the book. Thanks to Shuri, Julian's friend, who wrote the dedicatory in his behalf. The Little Prince in Hebrew.

Curious thing: The cover letters are written in gold and they're very beautiful

Diciembre 2012. Una de las cosas que más me gusta de vivir en Europa es poder recibir correspondencia, tiene ese no se qué romántico/sorpresivo que hace bien y reconforta. Este diciembre recibí una postal muy bonita con buenos deseos para el 2013 y además un nuevo libro para mi colección, es el idioma que se habla en su región. El Principio en Ruhrdeutsch.

Dato curioso: Cada día aprendo de más regiones y lenguas habladas del mundo gracias a mi colección, al final de este libro sale una lista de dialectos en los que está traducido el libro.

December, 2012. One of the things that I like the most about living in Europe is getting mail, it has that "thing" romantic/surprising that makes you feel good and comforts you. This December I got a very nice postcard with good wishes for 2013 and also a new book for my collection, it's the language spoken at his region. The Little Prince in Ruhrdeutsch.

Curious thing: Everyday I learn more about regions and languages spoken in the world thanks to my collection, at the end of this book there's a list of dialects in which the book is translated.

Navidad 2012. Fran es un enamorado de mi colección, debo decirlo. Siempre está atento a una nueva edición para regalarme, para navidad me ha traído un libro para que practique algunas palabras para el día que viajemos juntos a Italia a conocer a su familia. El Principito en napolitano.

Dato curioso: Al final del libro tiene un glosario italiano-napolitano. Es genial !

Fran is in love with my collection, I must say. He's always looking for giving me a new edition, for Christmas he brought me a book so I can practice some words for the day that we travel together to meet his family. The Little Prince in Neapolitan.

Curious thing: There's an Italian - Neapolitan glosary at the end of the book. It's amazing!

Mayo de 2012. Justo llegó a mis manos después de redactar el último post. Sé que soy inconstante con este tumblr, pero llegará el momento de actualizarlo más a menudo. Este es mi regalo de aniversario (cortesía de Fran), de aniversario no de novios sino de "novios legalmente registrados en algún libro gordo de la ciudad donde vivimos". Es una edición super bonita, muy sencilla también. El Principito en Galés.

Dato curioso: Hay tan poquitas copias de este libro que no tiene código de barras.

May, 2012. This one arrived to me just after I wrote my last post. I know I'm not regular with this Tumblr, but someday will arrive the moment when I'll update it more often. This is our Anniversary present from Fran... not our relationship anniversary but the anniversary of being "legally registered as a couple in some fat book of the city where we live". It's a super nice edition, very simple too. The Little Prince in Welsh.

Curious thing: There are only a few copies of this book, that's why it doesn't have any barcode.

2006/2007. Esta es otra de esas bellezas que no recuerdo exactamente cuando llegó a mi vida. Es otro tesoro que vino de algún contacto de flickr que sabía de mi amor por estos libros. El libro es bastante peculiar, los dibujos son ligeramente diferentes a las acuarelas originales y la portada es una de las imágenes que menos se usa para la portada del principito. El Principito en Chino.

Dato curioso: Cada página del lado derecho tiene en la esquina superior derecha un principito y cada página del lado izquierdo en la esquina superior izquierda tiene algo para parece una mariquita :)

2006/2007. This is another of those beauties that I don't remember the exact moment when it arrived to my life. Is another treasure that came from a Flickr contact who knew about my love for these books. The book is pretty peculiar, the drawings are slightly different in comparision to the original aquarelas and the cover is one of the less used for The Little Prince books covers. The Little Prince in Chinese. Curious thing: Each right side page have a Little Prince in the upper right corner and something that looks like a ladybug in the upper left corner.

Septiembre 2007. Estábamos en Bélgica y casi finalizaba nuestro eurotrip de jóvenes recién graduadas de la universidad que necesitaban reecontrarse con su amiga :). En este viaje creció un poco más la colección y este es uno de los protagonistas. Me lo regaló mi amiga Frauke, y lo más bonito no es sólo el regalo sino que haya tenido el detalle de dejarme dentro notitas para que practicar lo poquitito que sé de este idioma. September, 2007. We where in Belgium and our just college graduated young girls that wanted to reunite with our friend eurotrip was almost over :). During this trip the collection grew up a little more and this is one of the protagonists. My friend Frauke gave it to me, and the most beautiful thing is not the gift by itself, but the detail of leaving little notes inside so I could practice the few things I know about this language. The Little Prince in Nederlands.

2008 (creo) Una vez más un libro sin dedicatoria ni fecha, sin embargo, recuerdo lo suficiente sobre él para tener una historia. Fran, que ya saben Ustedes que me ama, le pidió a Agustín, un amigo en común que vive (o vivía) en Kazajistán, que me trajera este libro, me lo dieron en un mercadito handmade en el que ambos estábamos participando en la Concha Acústica de Bello Monte, más específicamente en El Tarantín. Así, llegó esta belleza (y otra más que luego subiré). El Principito en Ruso.

Dato curioso: sí, tengo 3 ediciones diferentes del principito en ruso :)

2008 (I think) One more time a book without dedication nor date, however, I remember enough about it to have a story. Fran, that you already know that he loves me, asked to Agustín, a common friend that lives (or used to live) in Kazakhstan, to bring me this book. It was given to me in a handmade things market in which we both were participating in la Concha Acustica de Bello Monte, more specifcally, El Tarantin. So, that's how this beauty (and one more that I'll upload later) came to me. The Little Prince in Russian.

Curious Thing: Yes, I do own 3 different versions of the The Little Prince in Russian.

Barcelona, Marzo de 2006. Esto de repasar la historia de cada libro se hace cada vez más bonito, en el fondo voy lento porque no quiero que se acaben!. Esta edición me la regaló un muy buen amigo que había estado viviendo un tiempo en la ciudad donde ahora vivo! Erly tuvo este lindo gesto que siempre tendré presente y espero poder alguna vez hacerle un regalo así de bonito. Gracias :). El petit príncep en català.

Dato curioso: Cuando me regalaron este libro no conocía Barcelona, no sabía nada de catalán, ahora vivo en esta linda ciudad y podría leer en voz alta y en un catalán muy aceptable el libro. Así es la vida, no? :) (espero me pase con muchos otros libros!).

Barcelona, March 26th, 2006. Reviewing each book history is becoming more and more beautiful. Inside I feel that I'm going slow because I don't want them to end! A good friend of mine gave me this edition that was living in the city where I'm living now! Erly had this nice gesture that I'll always have in my mind and I hope that I can give to him a gift as beautiful as this one. Thank you :). The Little Prince in Catalonian.

Curious thing: When I got this book I didn't knew anything about Barcelona, I didn't have a clue about Catalonian language, now I live in this city and I could read this book loud in a very good Catalonian. Life is like that, right? I hope the same happens with many other books!

Caracas, 26 de enero de 2004. Ya les he comentado antes que mi colección no sólo es de libros sino que tengo muchas otras cosas del principito, por ejemplo este cuaderno. Lo compré en las Mercedes, mi amiga María Estela me llevó a la librería/papelería que lo vendía. Recuerdo que tenían calendarios, agendas y otras cosas muy lindas pero que mi presupuesto de estudiante no me permitían.

Este es uno de mis cuadernos del principito. De lo primerito que compré para la colección :)

Caracas, January 26th, 2006. I've told you before that mi collection is not only books but other The Little Prince things, like this notebook. I bought it in Las Mercedes, my friend Maria Estela took me to the bookstore where they were selling it. I remember that there were also calendars, agendas y many other beautiful things that I couldn't afford with student budget.

This is one of my The Little Prince notebooks. One of the first things that I bought for my collection.

17 de julio de 2007. Mi primer día en Praga, caminando con Anny y Frauke en nuestro eurotrip. El libro es hermoso, es una de las primeras ediciones en lengua extranjera lejana que tengo y también uno de los primeros que me he regalado, es muy linda la dedicatoria que me hice. Es de tapa dura y me costó 159 coronas checas. El Principito en checo.

Dato curioso: Conservo la factura. Para este día 1euro era el equivalente a 26,20 coronas checas y un 1euro eran (suspiro) 2850bs.

July 17th, 2007. My first day in Prague, walking by with Anny and Frauke in the middle of our Eurotrip. The book is beautiful, is one of the first editions in a far foreigner language that I own and also one of the firsts that someone gave to me as a gift, the dedication that I made for myself is beautiful. It's hard cover and it costed me 159 Czech Crowns. The Little Prince in Czech.

Curious thing: I still have the bill. For that day 1 Euro was 26.20 Czech Crowns and 1 Euro were (sigh) 2850 Bs.

Curious thing: Regulus, the name of The Little Prince in Latin, is the brightest star of Leo's constellation and it means "little king".

Abril 2006. No sé exactamente quién lo trajo porque fue un regalito sorpresa de mi mamá, es una edición pequeña y de esas que siempre puedes llevar contigo. Aprovecharé para leerlo de nuevo y practicar un poco del idioma que lo tengo olvidado. El Principito en alemán.

April, 2006. I don't know exactly who brought it because it was a surprise gift from my mom, it's a small edition, one of those that you can always carry with you. Una de los detalles más importantes de mi colección de libros de El Principito es el maravilloso hecho de que la mayoría han sido regalos. A veces me cuesta asimilar el increíble detalle de que alguien en su viaje piense en mi y se tome unos minutos -u horas no lo sé- para buscarme el libro. Si eres de esas personas y lees esto: MIL MILLONES DE GRACIAS. Esta preciosidad es de julio de 2009 y me lo regaló Mario Castillo como recuerdo de su viaje por Turquía. El Principito en turco.

One of the most important things about my The Little Prince book collection is the amazing fact that most of them have been presents. Sometimes is hard for me to assimilate the incredible thing that is someone thinking of me and taking some of his or her time to find the book for me.
