a dimly lit station trains stop and they start a wheeze and a cough that tear the body apart

sound resonates the tunnel low voices echo through belongings scattered discarded, askew

hunched figures in black squat closely on a bench as they light up a spoon they so dearly clench

the spoon fills up with a warm sticky brown they gather eagerly removing their frown

tired passengers depart barely give them a glance as they make their way home no acknowledgement of chance.

before they give it the kick they’ll have one last hit sagging in seats that seem to befit.

Stronghold

We built a fort, Just you and I, It sheltered us, From the ruckus, Outside.

We went outside, The ruckus invaded, I sat on cold concrete, Wishing my tears, To dry.

Sobs caught in, My throat ready, To leap out and, Betray my thoughts, I sobbed.

Time passed, You leaned on me, Willing the hurt, To fix and dry, It did.

In the fort, home, We made up, Under dim light, With soft kisses, And caresses.
