Never forget that Michael Jackson released Off the Wall, just four weeks after Chicago’s infamous “Disco Demolition Night”, where disco records were blown up in a staged anti-disco demonstration that became known as “the day disco died.” The backlash, steeped in racist & homophobic undertones against the Black, Queer & Latino roots of disco, was changing the face of radio.

Off the Wall, which drew heavily from the very sound being pushed aside, turned it into one of the defining albums of his career. It went on to win 3 AMA awards (Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist, Favorite Soul/R&B Album, and Favorite Soul/R&B Single for “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough.”) It was also the first album by any solo artist to put four singles in the Hot 100's top 10.

Jaafar’s team needs to capitalise off the fame and worldwide recognition he’s getting, by getting him cast as Prince Naveen in the live action adaption of princess and the frog 🤩 I was going through YouTube and someone commented that him as prince Naveen, Coco Jones as Tiana and Sabrina Carpenter as Lottie would be amazing casting and I agree 🔥😍
