Hello Tumblr! My name is [ERROR] but you can call me Miss Plume. This is my first time here, but I've heard it's chill now. I'm a surrealist and fantasy artist and an amateur writer just trying her best to enjoy social media (and the internet in general) again, what with the current en-shitification of it. Some sketches in my other art styles. It's such a frustrating thing wanting to learn so much but also, well...L҉I҉F҉E҉. Tho I'm not sure where to take these styles, I do want to find out. I'd like to experiment and learn more and just...see how they grow with me, you know? Unfortunately...responsibilities. It's fine tho. Eventually I'll find some time to study and experiment with them more.

Just a buncha panels of Zodyl angrily eating questionable things. I honestly can't decide which ones are my favorite LMFAO 😭

(Mild manga spoilers and an entire rant of me appreciating Urana's writing under the cut lol.)

I love the juxtaposition between him, and Tamsy eating the cake. Zodyl (a Groundling) eats the wrapper of the sandwich, too. Meanwhile Tamsy (a Spherite) throws it away. It just emphasizes his "I don't like wasting things" mentality, and how sadistic Tamsy is (leaving the wrapper there as a reminder to Amo of the cake).

Something else I love about his characterization (and everyone's, really) is that you can clearly track why Zodyl is the way he is. His entire motivation is vengeance and hate, and he's aggressive with everything he does. Everything he's done and developed - from his curiosity and treating everything as an experiment, to his "I dislike wasting things" mentality - is to further his goals of taking down the Sphere. He's motivated entirely by his hate for it but it's a completely different flavor compared to Rudo's.

When he met Rudo for the first time, he was friendly and nonthreatening, even sociable. And you completely forget his introduction just a few minutes later cuz of the switch up. Yet all of that was calculated and an intimidation tactic, even that was weaponized. He might not get everything right all the time (like the Trash Beast going up to the Sphere), but even then he's using his failures to his advantage. During the Information Broker fight, you can see he's constantly assessing, observing and calculating (even using the Cleaners to his advantage to both learn about the Trash Beast they were facing and to get to the Information Broker); it's aggressive. The guy is aggressive with everything he does, and it's fueled by just one question;

"How do I destroy that which I hate most?"

That clarity, even from the get-go, is such solid writing - can't appreciate that shit enough man. And you can see this with all of Urana's characters, it's so fucking refreshiiing! I'm so glad I picked up this manga. I'm seriously enjoying it so far.

I know this shit's an r/meme and, yes. I know, a big part of it is just people sticking with fic rather than source material cuz headcanons or ships were validated there. But, like...I've seen a lot of ppl mirror this sentiment seriously. Now can you imagine the whiplash as someone who's lived through the age of media where fanfic wasn't considered "better writing"? Where studio work had more "rule of cool", was better written and more ambitious, and overall just more creative and passionate than what the average person could come up with? And it's not just that, this shift is mirrored most obviously in the indie scene. Creative media in general - animated or live action series, games, movies, books, whatever have you - has become so corpo-sanitized and censored that, to most, the things created by "the people" are far better than what the big studios can come up with.

Now, I'm in no way complaining about this - don't get me wrong. I've had niche interests since I was a teen and I honestly love that the indie scene in general is finally popping off. I love that more people are getting into writing - if even just fanfics. I love that people are making movies without Hollywood, and I love that others are supporting them BIG TIME. I love that more indie studios are making games that rival AAA titles. I'm just surprised by it, is all. To witness that shift is wild to me, man. Like, actually insane (in a good way). It's just great to see!

Trigun Stargaze rant lol

Was finally able to binge watch and complete TriGaze. Lord have mercy was it an absolute mess lmao. Both seasons, btw - season 1 wasn't perfect either and I suspect the writing pitfalls extend to the other adaptations and the original manga, too. Maybe just a bit less on the others, but we'll see.

That being said, I did thoroughly enjoy both Stampede and Stargaze for what they were. Like, actually - it was a decent watch for me. It was a mess, but an enjoyable one nonetheless. It clearly had a lot of love put into it, if not some obvious limits. Something about it also felt very much like old anime to me, tho Idk what it is. Maybe it was the whole "power of kindness" stuff they pulled? I can't rly put my finger on it. It was refreshing, somehow, to see something a bit more hopeful with all the bleak and dreary stories nowadays. The types that don't make you believe in a hero, or a good future, but a "realistic" one. (Tho those aren't bad, either, and I quite enjoy them too.) But for everything I can tear the recent Trigun apart for, and believe me...there's a lot - I think I'll choose to highlight what I liked about it, instead:

- Fight scenes were amazing. It was obvious most of the time went to them, and it does show. They were rly creative, too, with different "tones" to each of them. Like how Wolfwood vs. Midvalley was a lot more like a battle between snipers, with its quiet moments and the environment. Compared to Vash vs. Leonof which had some very, very mild horror elements with the puppets. So on and so forth. And the 3D worked SO WELL for these scenes.

- Midvalley, haha. The guy is REAAL easy on the eyes. I can see why his co-workers and his boss were all flirting with him lmfao

- The facial expressions were animated a lot clearer, too.

- Many, if not most of the shot compositions were really stunning in the solely 3D parts. This is just a few, and there's a lot more which makes use of camera work.

- I also enjoyed the OST a lot.

- Small details are ON. POINT. Like, for example, you can see if Vash's gun is loaded or not. When you cover half of Razzlo's face, it's like there's two separate characters in his design (I rly liked that detail). The animations of the piano (if online discussions are to be believed). Blah blah blah.

- The polycule vibes between Milly, Meryl, Vash and Wolfwood were rly cute lol

- Midvalley, Leonof and Livio being good with kids lol. I don't think I need to say how Vash and Wolfwood are too, haha

- Milly, Meryl and Zazie's weird friendship lol

- Both Elendira and Zazie being a weird mix of adorable and unsettling at times

- Jessica was a cute simp for Vash and, like, yeah girl same

- Aaannndd....that's pretty much all I can think of rn, tho I remember gushing about more while watching lmao

Mainly because the writing pitfalls already speak for themselves. (At least they do for me.) But. Also. This rendition, judging by the interviews with Nightow and the fact he played a more advisory role in this, seems to be a kinder outcome he wanted to see for his own universe. I mean, he was the one in charge of approving everything - scripts, designs and all. It...it makes me think about the disconnect between the author and audience, is all - tho that's a different topic I need to process. But anyways, I did quite enjoy consuming this story. Despite its many, many flaws, it was a great meal for me! 😋

6.6 spoilers based on shit I've seen lol sending y'all my condolences at the bottom of the rant

I love how Dottore and Zandar have so many parallels but are such opposites at the same time. Zandar was someone defined by his successes, and was literally suffering from them. Meanwhile Zandik was defined by his failures, and it's almost like Zandar is the perfection that Zandik wants to be. Zandar was kept in check by his compassion (that Lygus literally said was holding him back lol), while Zandik long abandoned his. They both had themselves killed in order to enact their "master plans". Both made multiple "selves". I'm sure there's more parallels that my mind can't think of rn. I just think it's neat. Tho, this is only my interpretation of them lol cuz I can't play either of the games 😭😭😭

I also like how Datattore looks like an actual virus/malware. Idk what it is, or how to describe it, but he just looks like it to me lol

I take a something months long hiatus from the internet cuz of LIFE REASONS and I come back to back-to-back 30 second unskipable ads, the Linux community up in flames cuz of a years long vulnerability (which many OS' do have btw, it's just about patching them), OS level age verification trying (and failing it seems) to be implemented, and then ads almost every other post on Tumblr? Lord have mercy, I shoulda just stayed gone - cuz at least the lack of social media had an actual positive effect on my being. If anything, this season has taught me the benefits of being offline - to which there are so much more than I realized. (I just didn't like not being informed of shit, which was a big downside.)

Welp, at least I can catch up with everything I've missed out on recently! (Hopefully.)

Creating characters is fun until they start making decisions without your permission. You sit down to write a quiet breakfast scene and suddenly they’re confessing childhood trauma, or worse, falling in love with the wrong person. As I write this, it’s...Nov 14, 2025. And I’d like to remind me that nobody is ever too old to learn something new. And for anyone who stumbles on this and happens to read it, also. But mostly for me, for when I eventually look back on this in a few month’s time. For the past...hm...5-ish months? I’ve been brushing on my art fundamentals again; just re-teaching myself basic art stuff, in the hopes it can help me improve the lack of depth in my art. It made me think back to when I was able to create this iridescent effect in one of my private works cuz I learned a lot from that painting. I failed a lot, sure, but I learned a lot, too. And just like then, these past few months have also taught me a lot and it feels really good to see it carry onto my newer works.

Here’s to hoping that, when I read this again in the future, I haven’t stopped learning new things.
