sometimes i remember that melanie was a famous youtuber and it just gets me all over again like. could you imagine being an employee at the magnus institute and then fucking markiplier shows up to make a statement about a ghost who tried to kill him. and then before you know it markiplier is an avatar of the fear of violence and also he wants to stab your boss to death

Idea: Post 200, Melanie suddenly realizes that she remembers exactly what Sasha's face looks like now that The Stranger's power (which had fogged her memory before when she tried to describe Sasha to Tim) has left her world. She's excited to tell the others before realizing that there's no one left to whom this would really mean anything.

- the ill-advised hookup occurred after a night of drinking and they both said they were drunk afterwards but in truth they just didn’t want to admit that they were actually decently sober and still decided to fuck

- tim always called sasha his work wife

- there was a time when sasha considered tim to be out of her league

- real sasha is a full foot shorter than tim

- they binge watch shows together on the weekends

- tim was heartbroken when not-sasha told him she was seeing a guy named tom and that whatever they had was over

- tim listened to the tapes from 161 and 162 as well as every other tape w/ real sasha’s voice on it in an attempt to remember her

- sasha would type up official reports solely containing office gossip and drop them on tim’s desk as if they were related to their research to get away with snarking on their coworkers in peace

- sasha frequently crashed at tim’s place

- tim once told sasha he was in love with her when he was drunk, and she said it back. neither of them remembered doing this

- sasha’s friends would remember tim as “hot hawaiian shirt guy”

- tim told her about danny during some deep pillow talk

- tim’s friends would remember sasha as the one tim’s in love with

- tim would rest his head in her lap while she gently played with his hair during movie nights

- they had a marriage pact that each one of them secretly hoped would come to pass

my headcanon is that the reason people like ghost hunt uk is that melanie feels exactly like the kind of ghost hunter who would actually fight a ghost for you. its impossible to be like actually afraid of the things they talk about because if it was a problem melanie would have simply solved it by now. at some point she does a collab with what the ghost and when georgie starts talking about a mysterious “illness” going through a village melanie just goes “wow. you came to me and told me you saw a black cat that drained you of your energy, i would know it was a vampire. i’d know to stake him in the heart before he could hurt you.” georgies just like “awww thanks babe thats so sweet” but melanie says it with such confidence they get like ten different people asking if melanie’s ever slain a vampire. the most important thing you have to know about this is that she’s absolutely doing it on purpose

there’s something therapeutic about imagining a broadway-style curtain call at the end of magnus. tim and sasha appear from each side of the stage to wave at the audience, sasha holding not!sasha’s hand. elias and peter bow deeply in unison. michael and helen poke each other playfully with their long fingers and pop in and out of different doors before disappearing. gerry comes onstage in a flurry of papers and brings eric and mary with him. annabelle is lowered onto the stage from a hanging platform like a diva to thunderous applause. simon and mike crew hoot and wave at the audience from a high platform and pop away simultaneously when the spotlight turns off. nikola and jane swing each other in a wild dance that makes the stage shake. gertrude appears alone and does an elegant curtsey. daisy+basira and melanie+georgie appear together, arms linked, and all four do a bow together. finally, after everything has quieted down, jon and martin appear from either side, and as the curtain falls, they join hands.
