Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton in “Oceans Apart” (Bridgerton - 1x07)
Gifs 96/?
Cuntology 101 w/ Anthony Bridgerton
I do not care if Wicked is considered a “family friendly” movie. When Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey sing “As Long As You’re Mine” in part two I want that shit to be softcore porn.
CO-SIGN.
glinda being mad not that elphie went with fyero but that she went with fyero instead of her??? she said "a man over me?? your girlfriend??" peak lesbianism, we stan
The closet truly is glass
Some new BTS from 'Dancing Through Life'
No cause him in this scene was NOT talked about enough like the CHARISMA
life is fraught-less
OMG?????
I think one of the reasons that Bridgerton season 2 hits especially hard for me is because the enemies to lovers trope, especially in a regency setting, made it so that Kate did not have to “fit in” in any way to get her romance.
The first time Anthony meets her, she’s riding astride. The first time they talk, she outright argues with him. He recognises it, Anthony himself says, “the rules are meaningless [to her]”. She calls him out when he assumes she won’t be able to manage a gun. She plays pall mall just like he does, with equal intensity, just as competitive. And that’s who he falls in love with.
Throughout the course of the story, she never has to change herself, dull her sharp wit, or chip away anything of her personality, for him to notice her and be attracted to her, for him to fall in love with her.
There’s no grand makeover, for him to finally notice her, because he’s always seen her for who she is, from the very first time they met and he began falling for her from that very moment. Her personality is not portrayed as a flaw that he loves her in inspite of, but rather the very core of the reason he is in love with her.
And in season 3, we see that marriage doesn’t change that either. She still banters with him, and he’s still going around telling everyone who will listen that his marriage is perfect.
Because, to be loved is to be known and Anthony has loved her from the moment they raced each other in that park and he’s known her as she is since then too.
EXACTLY WHY I DIVED INTO THEM AND HAVE NOT EMERGED

So I’m still breaking down my thoughts, and something I keep returning to re: the politics of the Gliyeraba Thropple™ is the multifaceted question of class and power.
While Glinda is the epitome of privilege and the “rich girl” archetype, Fiyero AND Elphaba arguably start the show with more power and influence than Glinda does. Fiyero, of course, is the prince of the Vinkus—but Elphaba is notably the daughter of the governor of Munchkinland, which puts them nearer in terms of political/royal/class standing (and yes…the arranged marriage AUs DO go hard).
Now, the reason this is all so interesting is because it situates Glinda as someone with a huge outset motivation to social climb. Because while Elphaba clearly doesn’t have actual power, she and Fiyero share one thing that Glinda doesn’t have—a position that has them primed for disillusionment. Although Elphaba clearly still believes that it gets better at the top (a.k.a. the Wizard), she already has a lifetime of experiencing how hypocritical and loveless life in the "aristocracy" can be. Meanwhile, Fiyero’s very introduction is one of a depressed nihilist (all wrapped up in a flashy dance number); he’s transgressive from the start, which is perhaps the privilege one has when you’re already born at the top of the food chain—all the while also indicative of a genuine dislike of the system he’s in (and this is where I have MORE thoughts on gender and queerness, but I think that’ll deserve its own post). So although their actions are unequivocally brave, there's a lot less disillusionment E&F need to unpack before they break out—and, one could argue, an inherent privilege in their already being closer to the "truth."
Where I’m going with this is that I think Glinda represents something fascinating about the psyche of the bourgeoisie/upper-middle class—something that has real-world implications today. Because there’s something about her specific rung of power—the one that is just powerful enough to remain perpetually aspirational, like the peak of a bell-curve of ignorance—that taps into an important facet of “how wickedness happens.” It’s the story of the people who vote against their own interests because they think of themselves as "future billionaires;" the people who arguably lack the privilege of knowing that their race to the top is meaningless. It's the mindset that leaves you abandoning your morals and deepest loves for a system that forever dupes you into thinking your heart's desire is still just behind the curtain.
It’s all another part of why Glinda’s character is so lushly complex. She's complicit, but it stems from a genuine ignorance and vulnerability—and we get to watch her rise and fall so we don't fall victim to the same falsehoods. And I think it's also part of why our tellings and re-tellings of The Wizard of Oz, the true "American fairytale," still continue to resonate with us over a century later.
What are two gifs that give off the same vibe?
is anyone else imagining Fiyero going down to the Ozdust and hitting on a cute guy, and even though he flirts with everyone, Fiyero doesn't actually have very much intimate experience with men, but their chemistry is good, and he wants this. he figures it can't be that different anyways, so he lets the guy take him home. he keeps up his charming, slightly flippant persona, but the guy sees right through it, and he takes Fiyero apart against the bed, pinning his wrists above his head, teasing him until he's a begging mess, and then he fucks Fiyero until his brain shorts out because really, Fiyero just wants someone to tell him it's okay and to take care of him and to hold him, and then they fall asleep in each other's arms. or are you normal haha
And the guys name was Hawkins Fuller 😏
The real question we should be asking is how much more chaotic things would have gotten if the full throuple went to the emerald city and saw the wizard together. How much more chaotic would things have gotten if Fiyero went with them. Fiyero Tigelaar is attracted to two of the most powerful(in their each own individual ways) ladies in all of Oz, he also is a go with the flow kind of guy until things get really dangerous. He's sticking with them no matter what.
No really I’ve been thinking about this LOTS
fiyero's point of view of part one is hilarious. He leaves elphaba and glinda to themselves for one day and now Elphie is wanted by the government and glinda is technically a prisoner/is kissing up to the wizard and super sad about Elphie. The throuple is in danger and now he's left to hold the braincell.
Fiyero during Dancing Through Life
This is Fiyero after Glinda and Elphaba left the Ozdust Ballroom and he spent the rest of the night dancing by himself
Ajshfkgjfkfkgk this is too on the nose 😂
