@missy-mistress
I'm gonna say it, I do think that even the laziest person imaginable should have a roof over their head, food in their stomach, and access to healthcare
christian bad driver: my guardian angel watches over me, I don't need to look before I merge
atheist bad driver: I will rely on my own skill to see myself safely home after a mere 8 drinks
agnostic bad driver: no one knows where all these dents and scratches came from
I don't understand how cis people obsessed with gender norms think trans people are the weird ones. they're going around believing that your name has to correlate to your genitals. your fashion has to correlate to your genitals. your behaviours have to correlate to your genitals. your hobbies have to correlate to your genitals. who you date has to correlate to your genitals. whether you can put sparkles on your eyelids or not has to correlate to your genitals. and then people like me go "hmm. I might not do that. maybe I'll just do what feels fun and okay instead" and they LOSE their MINDS
The older i get the more i understand why some people become obsessed with privacy, not because they’re hiding something, but because being constantly perceived starts to feel spiritually exhausting.
Did you know that soda machines at restaurants and movie theaters spy on you? That most common new cars now record your sexual preferences and send it to the manufacturer (and also data about anyone who also gets in your car, walks by your car, and maybe happens to be within visual range of your car)? That grocery stores are trying to force customers to download an app to scan barcodes on shelves instead of putting up prices, so the app can scan the phone, decide how much that customer should be squeezed for, and adjust the price? That more and more innocent people are being sent to jail for crimes committed hundreds of miles away because an AI facial recognition algorithm spit their faces out and the cops didn't bother to do the most basic of checks?
I am not uptight about privacy because I'm hiding something. I'm uptight about it because the people who dismiss my right to privacy are dangerous to you and me and our families, personally, all the time.
And often, they are assholes, too.
rich people should not be allowed to access, collect, modify or wear ancient artifacts as fashion statements. they're historical pieces that belong in public domains & should remain accessible to every. this especially applies to colonial artifacts & jewellery. end of discussion.
listen to me, this is so so important: you've gotta get used to really giving it your 60% as a default. like don't half-ass it necessarily but try not to go over 70% or so of an ass. you'll feel better and live a happier more fulfilled life, and on the rare occasions where you do need to lock the fuck in you'll be able to pull off bullshit that the sad miserable wretches giving it their 100% can never dream off, because they're busy draining themselves dry and you have energy reserves to spare.
This is actually what I was adviced to do at the work rehabilitation program I went to. Hasn't left my mind since. 10/10 solid advice
embarrassment is the cost of entry.
if you aren't willing to look like a foolish beginner, you'll never become a graceful master.
getting rocks thrown at you until you die is just part of the process. you can walk it off
Chronic pain is like: I'm in pain. "Well, you really shouldn't let that stop you from doing things." Ok, I guess I'll keep doing this even though I'm in pain. "Well, if the pain was really that bad, then it would stop you from doing things, so it's probably not that bad." Actually, it got worse because I kept doing things. "Well, why would you overdo it and hurt yourself? You should know your limits." Ok, fine. I know my limit, and I have reached it. I need to rest. "Okay, but last week you did all this other stuff, so I know you CAN do more, so I think you're just making excuses?" Ok.
ned teaching nancy to read the astronomical clock by putting together slides with the day and time of their first date is peak romance, actually

if youve been following me, or any other hungarians on this site you may be aware how difficult it is to access transgender healthcare in hungary at the moment. Luca is in quite a bad situation and orchie would improve her quality of life significantly.

Pray for my local library to not reject an order I placed on a book about transmasc history because currently the only book they have about trans men is fucking Irreversible Damage and it is my god given DUTY to change that by requesting as many trans books as physically possible 😤✊
Yeah Irreversible Damage sucks. Like a lot of people in reblogs are saying though, it's likely not the goal of any of the staff for this to be the case! There's a chance that there previously were more positive trans books, but they were challenged by patrons and removed. If multiple patrons make a stink about a book, it will likely either move sections or dissappear entirely to avoid conflict.
As someone who works in a library, in regards to the comments, while I fully understand why you would suggest stealing it, I don't reccomend that! Almost all libraries have tags in books and beepers at the front, and many of those will log exactly what book has been taken. If the copy goes missing, it will eventually be noticed and a new one may be ordered. That would just be giving more money to the author. The best thing to do is leave the book alone- if nobody checks it out for a long enough time, it will be 'weeded'.
I know it can be hard to leave alone. My library also has Irreversible Damage and Detrans, among others, and I feel awful every time I see them. But please don't hide it within the library either. It will most likely be found by staff or a page (my job) and we're required to fix misplaced books and put them back on the shelves. Some libraries may even require that hidden books must be logged for interest, which delays them being weeded even longer.
I sincerely hope that they accept your request! If you want any reccomendations I am very happy to oblige, including for fiction with less obvious trans themes (higher chance of making it past the board).
Yup! I need to make it a little more obvious in my library posts that I never blame the libraries for books either being there or not being there (that’s on me!) because I know how libraries work and I know that it’s usually up to the patrons themselves who decide what ends up getting stocked, that’s why I’m so hell bent on ordering/requesting new trans books so that the few transphobic books there are get drowned out by trans-positive ones. I also was not planning on stealing the book because I know that wouldn’t be possible without another copy showing up in its place, so the best I can do is just get more trans books!
At the very least, I hope this post encourages others to do the same, because I don’t know how common knowledge it is that people can single-handedly decide what kind of books their library stocks if they put in the effort. I’ve requested a few other books before (one of them the next series in a manga) and, with the help of the librarians themselves, had them stocked within a few weeks! It’s always very satisfying walking into the library and seeing the books that were purchased on my behalf, it’s such a simple and effective way to make a difference! Especially since it also benefits the libraries. The more books you check out, the more you use the libraries, the easier it is for them to get funding!
Please use your libraries folks, and order, request and check out as many books as you can!
A while back there was a tiktok going “Ooo this is the best restaurant and I’m not telling you where it is ;) you’re going to have to guess ;)))”
And another guy stitched it with a whole breakdown of her most recent posts to go “The day before you posted this you posted another video saying you met this celebrity and he had just posted that he was in this city. You also posted a video in a hotel room and after searching up hotels in this city, we can tell it was this hotel because the wallpaper in your video matches the wallpaper in pictures on their website. By looking up restaurants by this hotel we can tell you went to this specific restaurant” and he was right
And people called him a creep, but I think we should take this as a moral lesson to lie about ourselves online more. I’m actually a talking dog and I live in a Montreal poutinerie
"Tattoos are becoming unpopular", "piercings are unpopular again", "keep your hair natural never dye it again, it's the trend now" literally fuck off I know what y'all are doing
