âI'm a heavy sleeper.â Crowley told him with a nonchalant shrug, leaning back against the wall. He hoped that if he acted like this wasn't super odd the kids would just follow suit, what other explanation was there? He was sure that a humans brain wouldn't just supply 'appeared out of nowhere' as a legitimate option on its own.
âRight, they definitely couldn't turn it around and send someone. Then people would notice wouldn't they?â He leveled Elliot with a look from behind his sun glasses, an eyebrow raising up high enough that it was visible.
"It's actually kind of hard to turn a rocket ship around in space," Elliot pointed out. "There's no.... wheels or friction or anything like that, it takes maneuvers."
"What have you been eating?" Doria asked, her hand politely raised. "We haven't noticed food going missing.
"Have you been eating my tomatoes?" Martin narrowed his eyes.
"Dude, no one's been eating your tomatoes." Will rolled his eyes. "Your tomatoes suck."
"Okay, can we hold on a second?" Elliot asked. "Okay - because yeah, you can't just turn around a rocket ship on a whim, and of course they're not telling anyone we're up here? They'd be in so much trouble."

yes. it is true.

These children had been out in space for 134 days and he'd not heard anything about it? He'd only been floating about out here for maybe a month, it couldn't have been that long could it? âSleeping mostly.â It wasn't a lie because he had slept quite a bit, just not in this ship.
Maybe he'd been out here longer than he thought; time got funky when he slept, let alone when he slept in the expanse of space. âWhy haven't your adults sent a rescue party anyway? To embarrassed they screwed up this badly?â
"Sleeping? We went through a space storm! We accidentally set the kitchen on fire!" Which was very hard to do, apparently, seeing as it only used a microwave.
"They ... they didn't screw up," Elliot said, eyebrows furrowing. "The only other ships that my dad has is on way to the Mars Epsilon colony, they're going in a different direction."
Recent Head Injury Sentences
(Sentences for muses that have had a recent head injury, and the those that support them. Adjust phrasing where needed)
"Since the accident, my thoughts feel like a puzzle with missing pieces."
"Listen, you're making terrible decisions right now because you're not thinking clearly!"
"It feels like I'm living in a book where half the pages have been torn out."
"I know it's hard, and it's okay to feel frustrated."
"I'm tired of people looking at me the way that you're looking at me right now."
"People are starting to worry about you, you know that?"
"I just want to be the person I was before."
"I look in the mirror and don't recognize the person staring back."
"I can't remember yesterday, but I can recall childhood memories like they happened only moments ago. How does that happen?"
"Are you okay? Have you got a headache again?"
"I've had to relearn my own life."
"Calm down, alright? I know you're hurting, and I know things are confusing, but getting angry with me is not the answer!"
"I didn't just lose my memory, I lost my sense of self."
"Why me? What did I do to deserve this?"
"I get so confused. It's all such a blur."
"People tell me I've said things and I don't remember saying them."
"I can't understand what you're going through, but I can be here for you."
"Why can't I just remember? It's my own damn life!"
"Remember, it's okay to ask for help when you need it."
"Sometimes I feel like a stranger in my own life."
"It's just a head injury. How bad could it be?"
"What do you mean you can't remember what happened?"
"Don't feel obligated to remember everything; I'm here to help fill in the gaps."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout. I just... I get frustrated sometimes."
"Your struggle is my struggle; we're in this together."
"It's like I'm living in a fog that never lifts."
"You're not alone in this, even when it feels that way."
"I'm the same person, but it feels like I've been rewired."
"You don't realize how precious your mind is until it starts slipping away."
âYa know, you wanna use that thing as a weapon your better off spraying it first. Knock the person off balance before knockin' em in the head, especially when their bigger than you.â He rocked back slightly on his heels, thumbs looped into pockets in a show of 'im not dangerous' without having his hands up in a way that might be intimidating to someone smaller than him.
âHow long do you think I've been on the ship?â There was a miracle in his question urging him to fill in the answers, but there was also the fact that anything other than âSince we left earthâ would be a crazy idea to a human.
Okay. So maybe how long have you been on the ship wasn't that much better of a question than how did you get on. But it certainly felt like a big distinction somewhere in his chest. "Well. We've been up here for one hundred and thirty-four days."
He adjusted his grip on the fire extinguisher, glancing at the mouth of it for a moment. "How have you been hiding for over a hundred days? What have you been doing?"

Crowley could only be glad that he'd winced his wings to the astral plane and his glasses were firmly on his face, nothing short of a miracle would knock them off him. He could do without the screaming though, even when he was little Warlock had never been much of a yelling kid and he'd always been glad for that. âRight, screaming is definitely going to do something.â
He had to remind himself that this was a child, sarcasm was like fuel for them. âLets take a breath and turn off that blasted alarm.â He should have come in as a snake, at least that wouldn't have seem so crazy him appearing. Could have figured out a good way to make them think he'd been there the whole time well still watching and making sure they weren't gonna die horribly.
The scream died slowly. There was a man in the cargo bay. And all Elliot had was a fire extinguisher. He adjusted his grip - it was a heavy thing. Force equaled weight times distance, a fire extinguisher didn't mean he was hopeless but? This wasn't his job.
"Matilda..." He said. "Can we turn the alarm off?"
"The reason for the alarm has not yet been solved." Matilda chimed in.
"Right, but... it's not gonna be solved either." Elliot said. Matilda chimed once more and the alarm, complete with the red blaring light, stopped. "Who are you? And how did you get - no. How long have you been on the ship?"
@mistakenastronaut
Crowley was just floating in space with his wings half curled around him to make him nothing more then just another black speck of space, looking out at the expanse entirely wishing he hadn't come here with the lack of view. It was there wallowing in his own self pitty that he saw a ship fly past him, demonic hearing picking up the very distinct sound of a child's voice coming from the space suit clinging to the outside of it.
He blinked 3 times before letting out a long sigh and moving after the ship, grabbing a hold of the outside of it to peak in the window. That lasted all of 20 minutes before he realized these children are alone in space, and then he shifted himself inside of a bay that seemed to be empty and mostly for storage.
Except that as soon as he did alarms sounded for he assumed where he was and he covered one ear, starting to pulling the other hand up to silence the alarms before thinking better of it. He didn't want to risk compromising the ship in some way with a gaggle of children on it. âSatan sake, why's that ssso loud.â
Elliot, obviously, didn't believe Doria when she started screaming that there was a man outside. Of course there was no man outside - they were on a rocket ship hurtling towards Venus. The only thing outside was more space rock that was probably going to try and kill them.
Nothing was outside.
But they checked, because of course they did. He wasn't going to just not check, he just thought it would be something to do to break up the day. So tell him why the alarm was going off? He grabbed the fire extinguisher, thinking it had to be that and -
there was someone there. An actual honest to Matilda adult and he screamed.

Okay so I had a pipe burst in my house and we caught it quick, and my Dad is fixing it but I would like to be able to help if I can. Though we caught it quickly we do still have to fix the pipe, and I'm pretty sure we are going to have to replace the drywall on the wall by the hallway in the utility room. We have a heater blowing into a hole I kicked into the wall to try and prevent mildew though so well see.
I want to help because my sister and I rent this house from him and my stepmother and they only charge us $500 a month, and they have only been getting $250 for the last year because I told them I am not paying my sister's half of the rent anymore. (I did tell him I'd be happy to pay it all if I was the only adult in the house, but my sister is not making any effort to find a job or even go to therapy and I don't have the means to support her.)
forthewinnâ:
âYeah I know.â He replied with a soft voice, closing his eyes. It wasnât his first panic attack, but that didnât make this any easier either. âYeah yeah Iâll be okay. Give me like maybe five - maybe ten more minutes.âÂ
This was why he hated being the one to leave the Odyssey 2 - he had completely forgotten how to talk to adults. âOkay, I can do that. Do you need me to get you some water? I have some. I donât have a phone... I canât call anyone for you.â
@forthewinnâ asked: âNo, itâs bad, but Iâm. Like. Iâm fine. Just give me like, ten minutes.â
âMatilda says youâre heart beat is up,â Elliot said. âYou know, you tend to use more oxygen when youâre heart rate is up... but I guess that doesnât matter out here. Are you sure youâre okay? Should I be getting you something?â
aviophobicâ:
Leonard can hardly believe it.Â
âLook, kid, Iâm gonna need you to be real clear with me. Are you tellinâ me that ship is full of kids? Your whole crew?â This is extremely concerning. Whatâs happened to the rest of the crew? Slaughtered by hostiles? Taken by a deadly, contagious illness? This could very well be a plague ship, for all he knows.
âYou need to tell me whatâs goinâ on over there.â A beat, then âYou havenât got a Starfleet designation.â It isnât a question. Whoever they are, theyâre most certainly not affiliated in any way with Starfleet.Â
âYeah, thatâs the whole crew,â Elliot said. He didnât want to start sassing now, not when it seemed like the guy was finally starting to listen, and starting to freaking get it. âIt was supposed to be run by adults but things arenât exactly going to plan, here. Otherwise we wouldnât be using eleven percent too much oxygen and weâd have edible tomatoes right now.â
He took a deep breath. âOkay, well, something happened to the tomatoes and now thereâs this white stuff growing on them and we canât eat them. If they infect the kale, weâre pretty much done for, because weâre already using too much oxygen and the garden center is pretty much the main source of oxygen anyway.â
Elliot frowned. âUh. My designation is Co-Pilot. You know, this is why I asked if there were actual adults on your ship or if you were wearing a filter.â
aerachnidâ:
â ââ no, i havenât seen two guys get into a fight over something like that. mainly because i donât know anyone who really likes oatmeal. â  he responded simply and tilted his head.  â thatâs not good. â  he murmured and ran his fingers through his hair.  â i mean, there are cookbooks and instructions for how to make certain things. â
âTo be fair, they both had space rage. And the only thing we really have up there is a whole heck a lot of oat meal, so yeah, Will has his favorite type of oatmeal. He put his name on it, including, no one but Will eat it, then Martin made it and started eating it. Will said hey, thatâs mine, then Martin said, I thought that meant, everyone but me, so they started fighting. Space rage.â Elliot explained. He said. âKay, but none of us know how to cook, and we didnât exactly pack to go into space. We werenât meant to go at all. Adults were meant to go.â
aerachnidâ:
peter listened to the other as he spoke and nodded his head slowly.  â sounds great, though. â  he responded. growing your own food was always good.  â is there anything you want that is fresh protein? â  he questioned.  â chicken breasts, avocado, salmon, eggs. â  he listed off for the other.
âAbsolutely not. Have you ever seen two guys get into a massive fight because one guy ate the otherâs favorite oatmeal? Itâs not like we can turn around and get more.â He frowned. âUh. I donât know. Last time someone tried to make popcorn there might have been a small fire.â
