Last year I started to pray to and work with Priapus as a vegetation and fertility god since one of his domains is vegetable gardens specifically.

I asked him to help guide me and teach me how to grow my own vegetables, how to care for them, how to deter pests, etc.

Since then I've not only grown bell peppers, but I've also planted potatoes, carrots, beans, and gotten a strawberry plant, all of which are thriving.

My bell pepper finally ripened, so I harvested and offered it to Priapus, as I had promised it to him months ago. I thanked him for his guidance, thanked him for working with me, and asked to continue to work with him in the future and to continue to have good harvests like this.

I've made a couple other posts about this pepper and my work with Priapus as a vegetation and fertility god, and now seeing it turning red, I am so excited to give him this pepper.

Priapus has guided me and helped me learn so much about vegetable gardening, and I am so grateful.

It started with just this one pepper plant last year, but since then, I've planted potatoes, carrots, beans, and bought a strawberry plant.

Some of my strawberries are already ripening, my potatoes are thriving, my carrots are doing okay, and I just planted the beans two days ago so there's nothing to show yet

Happy Earth Day to our Mother Gaia

There are many ways to honor the Mother today; Gardening, picking up trash, offerings, prayers and appreciation, etc.

Today I made her a cup of tea with honey and poured it out into the ground with a prayer of praise and appreciation

She's the air we breathe and the ground beneath our feet, she gives and supports our everyday life and we would have nothing without her

So, god punished adam and eve for being curious and exhibiting free will that he gave them. ‘here is the tree of knowledge, dont fuckin touch it.’ he wanted to keep adam and eve as pets? like modern humans keep ants?? have you met humans? we will be curious if it kills us. they were punished for seeking knowledge???? god sounds like zeus in that he didn’t want humans to have the fire. he just wanted them to praise him.

the snake was curiosity and god said you have free will but use it wisely. so adam and eve used it wisely to educate themselves. OR

I want to clarify before I say anything, that I am not against Christians or Yaweh, I actually respect him as a god. My issue is with organized religion and the mortal men who changed and used the religion as a means of control and power.

Another clarification, I will be viewing the Bible as mythology rather than fact, here, because that is what I personally believe it is.

To me, it sounds like the stories in the Bible were written, or at the very least changed, to lead people into trusting religious authorities blindly. Pastors, priests, hell, even politicians, you get what I'm talking about.

"You see this shiny thing over here that you want so badly? I want you to blindly trust my word and listen to me without question." It gives the same energy as, "When I say 'jump,' you say 'how high?'"

Humans are not built like this though, we are naturally curious, we naturally want to question things and have all the knowledge so we can make an informed decision. But people who want power over you do not want you to have the power to do so.

So what's the best way to scare a large group of people into doing what you want? You target religion, you change old texts and make up new ones that fit your script. You preach it to the people you want to control and mold them into people who will not question you, who will trust and follow you blindly.

I believe the Bible was originally either supposed to be stories that were meant to teach lessons, like being kind to people even if they are considered 'outcasts.' However, I believe people with poor intentions got ahold of these stories and changed them.

If I remember correctly, and if my sources were even correct that is, we didn't even have the scary depictions of a firey, torturous Hell until Christians came to learn about Tartarus from the Greeks, and they based their idea off of that.

And, again if my source was correct, the 'fiery lake in Hell,' was even called Tartarus.

Again, I only have an issue with organized religion and people in power who use it against their own followers. Christians themselves, I don't really have any issue with. Yaweh, I don't have issue with, I respect him. I don't believe he's this vengeful, hateful god that people make him out to be. I do believe he is a god of war, but I don't think he's quite as angry or hateful.

I bought a copy of the Bacchae and it should be here today!! I'm so excited!

My dream is to write a musical about Dionysus, so I'm taking the steps to teach myself guitar and to read his myths.

And I need to give credit where it's due, I probably wouldn't be doing this if it weren't for the gods giving me little nudges here and there.

They didn't tell me to write the musical, but they would tell me that if I want it, I have to work for it, I can't just dream it into existence. If I want to write music, I need to take the initiative and learn music. If I want to know the myths, I need to be the one to get access to them and read them.

"If you want to do this, you need to do it," basically.

And I understand that the Bacchae is a tragedy, but I know I'll find a way to make it work. Music isn't always happy, and I know I can find a way to translate the pain and horror during some scenes into music.

But it's also not going to be just the Bacchae as a musical, it's a musical about Dionysus, drawn from multiple myths.

And I also feel this is perfect, since I read that his worship often wasn't done in temples, but on stage and in theaters. So while this is meant to be fun for listeners, it's also for him.

Still thinking about this

I want a scene where he's behind a curtain or screen so all you can see is his shadow, and with the use of props and theater magic, his dancing would include him removing parts of his body and sticking them back on in reference to him being ripped apart as a baby by the titans. His limbs are just removable now, in my mind

I'm not saying this was the gods or that they were involved, I don't think they were

But people in America are now setting fire to businesses that underpay them while they struggle to survive, and something about that just reminds me so much of Ares, Dionysus, and a little bit of Hermes

One man recorded himself doing it and stated, "All you had to do was pay us enough to fucking live," and then set the warehouse on fire.

After him, another warehouse across the country was set on fire, and I think someone also tried to set a mall on fire (though I personally would have done this when it was closed and not putting innocent shoppers at risk.)

I think the rebellion and 'class' aspect of it reminds me of Dionysus

I think the violence and 'war' aspect of it reminds me of Ares

I think the money aspect and the message being sent reminds me of Hermes

Obviously I don't want anyone to be hurt, but I do think the rich who hoard their wealth while knowing those below them starve should be sent a message to, at the very least, raise their employees wages and pay them enough to survive

Massive trigger warning for animal abuse

There's a guy on tiktok who tortures animals just for fun in really horrific ways. People will justify it with, "Oh, well they're invasive!"

Invasive makes it okay to kill them quick and humanely, it does not justify sewing multiple fish together 'human centipede' style, that is just cruel, and whoever finds joy in that is a horrible person. Not only to find joy in it but to record and post it online for views, then to make a new account when you get banned the first time.

Not to mention that this is how serial killers tend to start out; start with animals then move onto humans.

Anyway, with all this context, I'd like to turn this issue over to Loki, when I find the time to pray to him. The only issue I think there may be is that I don't know his name, and his username keeps changing because he keeps getting banned for obvious reasons.

I don't know why whenever I come across animal abuse, my gut instinct is to go to Loki about it, as to my knowledge he isn't associated with animals outside of Fenrir, the Serpent, and Sleipnir. Whenever I feel a deep, almost blinding rage, I instinctively want to turn to him, and I haven't figured out why yet, as I'm primarily a hellenic pagan.

Does no one else find the concept of a "God Squad" to be hubristic and blasphemous, even from a Christian point of view?

A group of politicians who call themselves god and decide which animal species get to live or die for profit? I feel like even the Abrahamic god would have issue with that.

Anyway I prayed to Poseidon and told him all about the God Squad deciding that Rice Whales can go extinct so they can drill for oil. Anything goes as long as rich people profit, right?

I didn't have a specific request other than justice against these politicians who made a decision regarding animals in Poseidon's domain, however it came to be.

I'm not home right now so unfortunately the offering took place in a solo cup in front of my travel altar

It might not be a Hellenic holiday, but it is still a day to drink (for us anyway, there's always drinks), feast, and gather with the family, so I'm still going to have a good day with it. Plus work is closed, which is also good :)

Xenia was violently broken in my household, so I prayed to Zeus.

My little brother's girlfriend's mother forced her way into our house and physically assaulted my brother because his girlfriend is trying to move in with us.

Cops were called but they did jack shit and actually permitted her to come BACK in a few days to try again, so I prayed to Zeus

I asked for protection, peace for my brother's mind because the altercation really effected and scared him and he isn't eating, and I also asked for justice against the mother. I did ask for vengeance but obviously we are promised nothing, and if Zeus doesn't see it necessary, it likely will not happen, and I acknowledge that.

But I'm emotional right now and angry that she came into our house uninvited and laid hands on my little brother, so my anger and bias are saying she deserves to be hit by a bus.

But Zeus is the god of justice, and I trust him to make a better judgment than I would

It's not often that I leave permanent offerings on my altar anyone other than Dionysus, since the altar is dedicated to him and Ariadne

I still give offerings to the other gods, obviously, they just usually get libations, food offerings, praise, or devotional acts

But one of my best friends is in the military and being deployed to an active war zone in Iran, which has me terrified, honestly

Now listen, I know that we (the US) are in the wrong and started this war, I know that the US is committing terrible acts. I do not support it, and neither does my friend, and right now, their goal is just to get back home.

I acknowledged all of this in my prayer to Ares when I asked him to protect my friend, asking him to just bring them home safely

I offered up my dagger that I got as a kid and gave it to him permanently on the altar

Obviously nothing is promised or guaranteed, but at the very least, I did feel heard and listened to. I felt acknowledged, and for now, that is comforting.

I do plan on making more offerings and prayers to other gods, like Poseidon, since my friend will be on a boat during this time, and Zeus, as a protector

I love my friend dearly, we practically grew up together, I just don't want them to get hurt
