Let's stop the internalized homophobia allegations actually. It's getting quite odd. There is literally a multitude and fluidity in queerness beyond being gay in the binary way too many folks are perceiving it and kinda boxing LaVonte's identity into. Some people are straight up being bi- and panphobic😀. Queerplatonic relationships also exist.

Regardless, whatever label you desire to place on these characters doesn't matter in the face of who these characters are, how they relate with each other, and how they want to name those relationships, if at all (and it's okay to not name it, free yourself from the shackles of "making sense"). it’s actually quite easy to take over a small local government group if you really want to, bc if you volunteer consistently people will just put you in charge of whatever. I’m now one of like three people at a nature preserve making official decisions about trails, putting in a prairie, and designing a series of illustrations for a storybook trail etc., and it’s just because last summer I started coming over once a week to help the naturalist out for a couple hours.
