Learning from queer history means abolishing ICE
it fucking sucks being a disabled person who can't work and having to see these fuckass posts where someone's like "ahaha jobless people have no life and that's why everyone shitty online has No Job" and everyone and their mother reblogs it joyfully onto my dash for me to see. yes unemployed and unemployable people are truly without exception dogshit people with no hobbies and no redeeming qualities. you're so right. anyway if you'll excuse me i have to start my shift at the I'll Never Be Employed Because Of Permanent Disability And I Love Knowing How You Really See Me store
if ur able to work can u reblog this i am seriously SO sick of it.
btw this isn't solely a disability rights issue or an issue about people who are entirely unable to work. you should also be thinking about the people who are regarded as unhireable. transfems are hugely discriminated against in this way, people of color are passed over for less qualified white people, anyone who has any difficulty playing the interview game is less hireable... frankly anyone who made the mistake of pursuing the things they love and now has a degree for a niche field. if you still joke about Jobless People it's because you've fundamentally connected the worth of people to their labor, and specific labor, work that you see as valuable. and while i'm at it stop making fun of people who still live with their parents. asshole.

This is what happens when there is little to no media coverage for a country going through a genocide over the past 3 years! Not only people are surviving displacement, famine and violence, but they are at high risk of infection by diseases!
It is devastating since hospitals are overflowing with patients and have been losing access to electricity, depending on solar energy for power! One hospital has to use light from cell phones to conduct surgery but the patient has died! So I ask you to please talk about Sudan! We need to boycott the UAE, donate to fundraisers and grassroots organizations and protest in the streets!
Consider helping Eman (@emiiii980). She is raising funds for her family, but we have not achieved the goal, so she has returned with a new fundraiser! She is also supporting other families, as well! So kindly give her what you can and share with everyone you know! You can also match me! I have given $10 CAD ($7 USD), but you are more than welcome to give any amount! [A friendly reminder to keep in mind with the currency exchange! $10 USD = $13 CAD!].
Her fundraiser has been shared by @/el-shab-hussein here.
Please donate here.
If you are a white person in a racialized person’s life, especially as a partner or close friend, you should go out of your way to ask regularly “hey is there anything you have been holding on to that I did?” and critically both fix it and NOT DO ANYTHING TO PUNISH THEM FOR TELLING YOU.
As a white person raised in a white supremacist society, you’re gonna fuck up sometimes. That’s just a fact. But racialized people often aren’t able/comfortable speaking up when y’all do some shit because of the power imbalance/not feeling up to educating when you may be resistant/don’t think the “fight” will be Worth It.
Show initiative without making it A Struggle or playing the white guilt card. Show you actually care about them, their struggles, and the way you interact with them BEFORE they have to have a bigger Conversation with you, beyond when they need to yell about someone else being racist.
And for fucks sake if they’re making/showing you something from their culture fucking act like you realize the importance of that, that they’re showing you shows they grew up with or making you food they made with their families, that they’re letting you in and trusting you more than other whites in their life.
This would honestly be life changing for me. The idea came up because I feel so incapable of telling the people in my life when they do racist shit. And like furthermore, actually respond beyond just an I'm sorry. Like for the love of god actually internalize the shit the Black and Brown folks say to you.
I'm seeing a lot of tags from white people saying something along the lines of please tell me if I fuck up and like that really goes against the point of the post. Racialized people have to swallow so much racism on a daily basis and it's impossible to tell who is safe to confront.
Even close friends or partners are not necessarily safe. I have had partners dismiss accusations of racism just off hand, I have had partners treat me like a repository for knowledge on Muslim cultural practices despite the fact that *my family has been Christian since Jesus,* hell I have had a partner say I was overplaying my pain at the genocide to get sympathy.
Racialized people are constantly waiting for the other shoe to job. Constantly waiting for their "antiracist" white friend to decide they have learned all they need to. We need you to ask. We need you to care enough to be proactive literally at all. Stop asking us to trust you without doing any fucking work to prove you are trustworthy.
To emphasize
IF YOU ARE WHITE YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE FIRST STEP OR YOU ARE JUST PUTTING MORE LABOR AND DANGER ON YOUR RACIALIZED FRIENDS FOR YOUR FUCKING COMFORT
Fucking reblog this each time you see it so that it gets drilled into other whites heads
hi, so i'm just gonna be brutally honest. life is absolutely fucking with me right now. my fiance got fired, through no fault of his own, i can't pick up hours at my job, i've been fucking trying for weeks. and i'd love to doordash on the side but i need new tires so there's that fiasco. i'm doing everything and saving where i can but i need help paying my mortgage and internet bill (50 for that and then 250 for mortgage) please. i have a plumber bill in the mail (cause ofc toilet wasn't working that's how life goes doesn't it lmao) i have to pay off my vacuum and payments on amazon, like every step i take i just get pushed 50 steps back. if you can't give anything a kind message or even a prayer would mean the world. i'll take this down when i get the amount. and i thank you for taking the time to listen bc this is literally the last thing i wanna be doing rn and i dread making this post. literally have $45 to my name after bills this pay period lollllll. but again, thank you for listening i appreciate it 🩷 i am thankful for the community i have on here.

May 5 is the Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons, also known as Red Dress Day.
In the U.S., Native people are victimized by violence at 2.5 times the rate of all other racial demographics, and are 2 times more likely to be victimized by rape and sexual assault. This violence has an even greater disproportionate impact on Native women, girls, Two-Spirit people, and other trans and gender-diverse people. Native women on some reservations face a murder rate 10 times that of the national average, and over half of Native women have experienced sexual violence.
You can dress in red and/or wear a red handprint on May 5 to honor the missing and murdered, discuss the epidemic of violence against Native people and particularly Native people of marginalized genders, and consider donating to organizations supporting Native Peoples, people, and rights.

BBC Africa releases a report about Colombian mercenaries yesterday. They are backed by the UAE and supported the RSF on taking over Al-Fashir, a city in North Darfur!
This is interesting this information has shared by Sudanese activists and journalists two years ago, but there is radio silence. So why is it coming out now? Is it because Sudan is entering its 4th year of the genocide? Either way look at how news outlets from the West deliberately pick and choose which pressing matter is worth sharing or not!
Please talk about Sudan at the same time! Boycott the UAE, donate to fundraisers and grassroots organizations and protest in the streets! Consider helping my friend, Randa (@rnd8) in the meantime. She is a Sudanese living Rwanda. She has raised funds to evacuate her family and we have achieved the goal, so she is extending a helping hand to her cousin, Maryuma, and her two young children, Rayan and Reem! They are in Khartoum, the capital, and they need to evacuate to Egypt!
This is a legitimate fundraiser via association. Randa's fundraiser has been shared by two sources: Jin (@/jinforjustice on IG), and @/northgazaupdates! You can read more about it here.
Please donate here.
€37,507 has been raised, and the last donation was made a day ago! Please donate and share so we can reach the 38K mark! There is €493 left to go!
Tagging for reach. Please leave an ask if you wish to be removed. Thank you.

please consider writing to Prarieland defendants Autumn Hill and Meagan Morris, they are both trans lesbians incarcerated in men's prisons for protesting an ICE facility
prosecution established affiliation by way of defendants having fucking anarchist zines, the kind of shit you see in a punk house. this is what they want and are willing to pursue for all of us who aren't willing to lay down and die, imprisonment and torture and the absolute stripping of our dignity (the govt gleefully included their deadnames in a press release yesterday; Morris' public defender has consistently deadnamed and misgendered her despite her legal name change)
there is no one who will protect us except us, and if our sisters are lost to us and forgotten as soon as they are grabbed by the prison system (ie if the system is allowed to work as intended) then we are failing, and we are woefully unprepared for a world where they start taking more of us
Autumn is a loving wife and is interested in religious history and mythology. Write to her at FMC Fort Worth.
Meagan Elizabeth Morris is loved by her wife housemates, and dogs. Her name was legally changed in 2007, but the federal complaint used her
P.S. This is a brush your teeth reminder blog. If this would be helpful for you, pls give it a follow. I implore everyone to take their oral health seriously. You will save yourself so much pain and money in the future. 🫶
I remember as a child being in the car when we picked my mother up from the dentist, where she had all of her teeth removed so she could be fitted for full dentures in her late 30s. The bloody gauze and the tears. She never took her teeth seriously and that was the unfortunate price she ended up paying for.
Your teeth have to last you a life time.
Psst, poor oral hygiene has been linked to heart disease.

#I'm just gonna put this in tags#but sometimes even when you do everything right your teeth will still rot#how do I know? my teeth are doing that#I take care of them the best I can yet I've had to have 4 taken out the past year#while I personally know someone who doesn't care for her teeth very well and she still has all of hers
I really do need to talk about this a bit more. And I have been thinking about it. But sometimes, no matter what you do, you will have teeth just give up on you. Some of it could be genetics, some could be conditions like diabetes, some a matter of diet, and some is a combo of all or a few of these things. It just can't be helped.
There's no shame in having teeth rotting out of your head. I definitely know there's a stigma. And it sucks so much to be doing everything you can and it still not be enough.
But still gotta continue to do as much as you can. Because it could definitely be worse.
My dad has diabetes, so once that happened, his teeth really just went full downhill. We are at the point where we have him on a high fluoride toothpaste and he also does a fluoride rinse. This seems to be curbing some of the damage and keeping the infection down. But it's really just a matter of time before he loses most of his teeth.
But the care he is giving his teeth is helping his pain and of course them not getting infected keeps the pain down. So it's still been worth it to do the daily care and to do the regular dentist/hygiene checkup.
So keep at it, friends. It feels like an uphill battle sometimes and is absolutely 0 fun. But every effort makes a difference.
"This ruling encourages diverse, bold and authentic filmmaking. Rafiki walked so many stories could run.”
Kenya’s Court of Appeal has overturned its decision to ban Rafiki, the groundbreaking 2018 drama that depicts a lesbian romance between two Kenyan women.
The Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) banned the film in April 2018 due to its “homosexual theme and clear intent to promote lesbianism in Kenya contrary to the law”. The decision came after director Wanuri Kahiu declined to give in to demands to change the ending, which the board deemed too positive.

i love how white people are supposed to be graciously forgiven for having a racist past because "they were kids and didn't know any better" but no one gives a flying fuck about the black kids that were subjected to brutal racist bullying during their childhoods. bullying that we're still subject to today because nothing has changed. white people were not being racist to some amorphous, unfeeling entity in some vacuous, isolated section of the internet, they were hurling slurs, racist "jokes"/imagery and antiblackness at REAL ACTUAL CHILDREN while gaslighting and mocking us for being upset, and no one gives a fuck!! we're just supposed to forgive these people who are never sorry and never will be and if not we're the problem and im so sick of it
So I'm not sure, if anyone sent asks of the current TADC voice cast situation yet.
Two separate clips from two different 2019 livestreams of Michael Kovach (Jax's voice actor) and Ashley Nichols (Zooble's voice actor) resurfaced of them laughing and attempting to say "negative" in half which sounded like N-slur. In one of the chats of these streams, the creator Gooseworx typed it and encouraged them. All parties are white and were already grown adults at time.
Both apologized. It's reported that Gooseworx reacted horribly (She might have deleted her response since I can't find it.). One of their colleague Alex Rochen (Caine's voice actor) only vagueposted about the situation by resharing a post to his Bluesky that's "it's hard to call out longtime friends."
Also, the rest of the main voice cast have been quiet about the racism and most of them, in the past, collaborated with a music producer: Black Gryph0n, who is an alleged known groomer, (Met his wife when she was 14-15 and he was 20.) Marissa Lenti (Gangle's voice actor) is the only one currently who addressed the collaboration, but is silent about the racism.
So outside of the fandom's racist human portrayals, that happened.
So, what are y'all as the fans gonna do?
Are y'all gonna move a la the Parry Hotter fans, where you claim that you're "reclaiming" the characters from the creator? While still supporting the IP? Because "I just have such a history and connection with these characters"?
Are y'all gonna stop supporting altogether? At least until amends and reparations towards Black fans are offered and delivered? Is this where the line got crossed, no matter what? I say this because I feel like if this is what got dropped in 2019, there's probably a lot more going on that has been overlooked?
I guess it's time to see what happens, if overt antiblackness and grooming are enough to sacrifice entertainment. Let me clarify, if being exposed for being antiblack is enough to sacrifice entertainment. Because while I'm saying these things as if the choice is easy, you would not believe how many people would forgive this situation and fight to the death if these folks dropped a tearful half-apology to white viewership. White solidarity is a powerful son of a bitch!
So, what are y'all as the fans gonna do? 👀
don’t let anyone convince you that caring about the earth, the environment, and wildlife isn’t cool. it is so cool to care. it is so important to care.
We see a lot of queer arab erasure, almost as if we don’t exist. Not only are we hated and murdered within our own countries for being different, but we are also invisible and forgotten in our own communities.
So this is an appreciation posts to all the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex and A-spectrum Arabs! And lets not forget our non-binary cousins You aren’t forgotten!
Sincerely, someone who has also experienced said erasure (achillean gay) ^^
