DOCTOR WHO | Doomsday
I met the Emperor, and I took the Time Vortex and poured it into his head and turned him into dust. Did you get that? The God of all Daleks and I destroyed him.
need some female director to lock in and make a movie where a grotesquely ugly and disgusting and monstrous woman slasher killer butchers handsome men in humiliating and sexualized ways. and it CAN'T be because they are rapists or abusers or otherwise misogynistic okay, she has to do it because she's a fucked up pervert
starwars Grogu’s biggest fan has arrived.
i was obsessed with the eruption of mt vesuvius as a kid, you know, ad 79, destruction of pompeii, the good shit. anyway when i was 9 my aunt was living in naples in italy and we went to visit and she was like do you want to climb mt vesuvius. and i was like hwaaa? you can do that? and she was like yeah i actually do a marathon up it every year let's go. so me and my mum and aunt and cousins all trek up this volcano in the middle of summer and it's yknow, a volcano. very hot and full of rocks. and we get to the crater and we're looking down into it and i'm like woah... this is what destroyed pompeii... and my aunt is like yup. got 'em good. and my little 6 year old cousin pipes up 'what would happen if it erupted now??' and me and my aunt just immediately, in the exact same tone, say 'we would die.'
To add on to the outdoor cat posts recently. I had a patient come in today. Owners let her out last night and she came back with a swelling on her right side and super painful. Some blood but they couldnt find out where it was coming from. They figured she got attacked by a cat.
Bring the cat in. Punctures on both sides of the abdomen. The swelling is a hernia. Her body wall was ripped which means her intestines were under her skin. I told the owners this is likely due to a coyote or a dog. Explain the spacing of the punctures and how a canine will grab from the top. Cats will bite the face or tail/hind legs. The owner was shocked. "But she never leaves the yard!"
Well, unfortunately many things can get IN your yard.
The owner asked if this is what we usually see with coyote attacks. I was very blunt. I told her usually we dont get the cat brought in. Or if we do, they usually aren't breathing.
We just finished surgery. She had a broken rib and a hole in her diaphragm. She's currently in the O2 chamber because her chest is compromised. This could have been completely prevented by building a catio, supervised excursions on a harness, or at the very least putting rollers or climb proof tops on the fence. Or they could have just kept her inside.
This is the reality of outdoor cats. Shaving the fur to get a better view and her skin is riddled with old scars and bite wounds. This is not the first time she has been attacked. It's just the first time it was noticed.
This cat is the luckiest cat I have seen in years. And that’s because she's - for the time being - alive.
Most of the time, they arent.

Beep boop! I look for accidental haiku posts. Sometimes I mess up.
the problem with movie remakes is that they always remake something that was already good, meaning at worst you ruin it and at best your remake is largely redundant. to make a truly good remake you need to start with source material that is absolute dogwater. ignore the pull of nostalgia. redeem the sins of moviemaking past.
starting a new company, Autistic Auditors, where we send blunt autistic people to check up on things like companies to stand there and be like “actually that thing the CEO said made no sense, elaborate” and pushing them to actually explain their dodgy corporate language that avoids accountability and reliability. Just really grind them down with repeated “why” and “but what does that mean” and writing down the answers in clear and obvious language.
IDK I’m just sick of hearing how Business Bros talk and how many people are suckers for it. I want blunt people standing there going “hey, that guy didn’t actually SAY anything, he just strung together a bunch of nonsense corporate words to make you think ‘ooo profit’ but there’s nothing substantial here”
We would do the same to politicians.
Hello! Autistic accountant who didn’t realize the autism part until their mid-30s here. Very pleased to report that the profession with very clear black and white rules, an expectation of social awkwardness, and strong ethical standards that require both seeing through bullshit and brutal honesty is both VERY FUN and tends to attract plenty of people with autistic traits.
Auditor is basically the most hardcore, rule compliant, and honest form of accountant.
Everyone in the notes saying that this sounds so fun and you would do it for free… no really this is a legit profession that people will pay you very real actual money to do.
If you like putting things in neat organized categories and having columns of numbers that always add up correctly then accountant may be a good career for you.
It doesn’t matter how old you are, some of the best CPAs I know are people who joined the profession well into adulthood. A couple community college accounting classes will get you what you need to handle a small business bookkeeping gig, and if you enjoy that but wish it was more complex then going for an accounting degree and/or CPA license may be a surprisingly good time.

ppl who don’t make an effort to listen to their partner(s) abt their interests bc they “don’t like it” scare me
exactly. it’s not about whether you like it or understand it. it’s about sharing their joy and learning about who they are.
