Kindergarten 1: Buggs —Aesthetic

Buggs' Character & Personality

Buggs is a kindergartener who's the bully of the school. He has an unnamed father, but he walked out on him. It's unknown if Buggs has a mother or another relative watching him as none are mentioned. He's antagonistic towards other children, namely Nugget. Buggs dislikes it when boys are whimpy, feminine, or emotionally invested in a girl. He especially hates being teased about his father. If desired, Buggs will beat up a boy to death unless stopped.

Because his dad left him, Buggs is still grieving over the fact and hopes he'll return. This possibility is unlikely as he went "to get milk" and hasn't been back since. Due to this, Buggs is comforted by objects that remind him of his father. This includes a flask that looks like the one he used to drink from. Additionally, Buggs threatens boys to hand over their money. This way, he can save up to buy a package of cigarettes; likely to mimic a behavior his dad did at home.

In addition, Buggs is perceptive. He knew Ms. Applegate was out to get him and actively plotting his downfall. Buggs was also somewhat aware of what was happening at school, saying "Look, something awful is happening at this school. Everyone knows it, but no one talks about it." This could allude to the murders, as nearly every adult had homocidal tendencies, but it's unknown if Buggs knew about the child experimentation.

By the sequel, Buggs is continuously antagonistic, but typically won't cause confrontation unless pushed. He brings his knife to school, only to have it confiscated by Penny. If Kid also has something confiscated, then Buggs will work with him to get their stuff back and uncover the secret behind Penny. This proves he's quite clever when need be, and has a strong sense of justice. Buggs is even still willing to kill Ms. Applegate as last game, holding a grudge against her for targeting him on Monday.

Unfortunately, Buggs has low self-esteem. He describes himself as "fat and ugly". Buggs also thinks he's dumb. While he's in the "stupid" class, he's able to see through plans and make complex decisions in a way that's atypical for a boy his age.
