Supernova.
I'm sorry I'll never be over how funny the chocobros are. There's two different guys who essentially grew up alongside the MC, putting his life before their own and in parts helping raise him for the grand destiny that is about to befall all of them.
And then one totally normal dude you met in highschool who got one month of gun training.
op u cant just leave that in the tags 😭 😂 ☠️

worry duty, a FFXV 4-koma.
I was rewatching Ray, Robbie, and Max play through episode Prompto and knew I had to do it.
Do you people even know about Prompto's photographs
Do you know that in hit game Final Fantasy 15 (2016) one of your party members is this cute lil' nerd and one of his Things is he's a photgrapher, so he's always taking pictures, there a whole system coded in to just randomly take in-engine screen captures of your party as they go about their day-to-day. And whenever you save you get to go over ten of those pictures and choose if you want to save any to your personal in-game album. This is obviously a feature designed for word of mouth fan promotion, because from your in-game album there's a ton of options for sharing your photos or downloading them to personal storage. Which is fun, games are allowed to do that, but. Ya know. Maybe not worth the effort of making a whole system to automatically do that.
Except it's also very baked into the world. There's a couple photos you have to get as you advance through the story, but mostly they're fun so you bookmark one or two as you progress through the game. And as you explore the world sometimes Prompto will ask to stop at scenic locations or tourist traps or whatnot and bam you've got a few more. And if you do this every time you save, you end up with quite a collection.
Anyways, fast forward to the end of the game, when you, the main character, are about to die. You know this. You are marching stubbornly to your own martyrdom, with no hope of survival. And the main character turns. And asks to see Prompto's photo collection.
YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE!!!!! YOU HAVE TO CHOOSE ONE!!!!! You have to pick, from those maybe dozens of silly goofy funny little screencappable moments, which one the main character is going to physically take with him into the last battle and clutch to his chest as he dies!!!!!! That photo you choose will show up in cutscenes!!!!! They make it your save files lockscreen!!!!!!! Is this thing on????
I knew this was a genius mechanic at the time, but reading this makes me remember YES THIS WAS A GENIUS THING
Spoilers for Final Fantasy 15:
So the full context is that you pick a photo. Any photo in the Gallery that Prompto had taken. And then you go to battle against the Big Bad. You fight. You win. And now it's time to die.
With the photo still in your pocket, you sit on your throne, call forth your ancestors and your own father who have long passed, and sacrifice yourself to lift the veil of darkness off the world. You do battle with the Big Bad one final time in the Beyond, a realm that straddles the living world and the afterlife. And then... You go enjoy the afterlife. You are wed to the woman that you were originally ordained to marry but still loved even in death, and you sit on your throne in the afterlife as your wife sits beside the arm of your throne.
And then... You show your wife the photo. You pick it up off the arm-rest of the throne and let her see it. She looks at the very photo you chose. And that photo can be anything. It can be a group photo, one of all of you and the other friends that have made your journey possible. It could just be you and your three best friends, the men you shared many campfires, hotel rooms, and battles with, the men who carried you through this journey. It could be a picture of the cozy camp you and your friends had set up hours prior and are enjoying a meal at. It could be a beautiful shot of the world you had taken on your journey.
Or it could be a shot of you eating shit during a fight with a Cockatrice. It could be you falling flat on your face when a Cactuar or Tonberry staggers you and knocks you down and makes you look like a fucking buffoon. It could be Prompto capturing the exact moment 2 of your party members died while the focus is on one person aura-farming in the fight like his comrades didn't just scream in agony before death. It could be an ill-timed shot where there's almost exactly nothing in the damn picture. Or the back of someone's head. Or it could be Gladio's perfect ass, of which Prompto's camera seems to be extremely attracted to by no small miracle of RNG.
And you show this to your fucking wife. You have the option to bring to the afterlife with you a picture of someone's ass to show your wife. And no matter what photo you bring, there's no variance in her reaction. She smiles softly as if you didn't just show her the ass of another man. You ask your best friend to hand you a photo with significant importance, fight tooth and nail and risk life and limb and the fate of the world just to bring it to the afterlife to show your wife when you inevitably sacrifice yourself to your forefathers to save humanity, and you have the option for that photo to be cakes that most certainly don't belong to your wife.

SUBARU BIRTHDAY KUJI ARE YOU KIDDING ME
I wamt the b prize standees..... the polaroids for 10 pulls also looks cute.....
It’s both funny and sad seeing Roswaal in the LN and early Side Stories because. He’s actually genuinely being really friendly and caring with Subaru? He teases him all the time, he gives him advice and offers a listening ear when Subaru seems to want/need it, he humors random, stupid whims — and then there’s details like how he’s heavily implied to have arranged for Subaru to “discover” his alcohol stash so that he had an excuse to offer him a reward of really expensive sake just so his new servant could have some fun, or pretended to be a spirit to turn a game back on him, or how he was. EXTREMELY brutal towards the Wolgarm that were about to murder Subaru in the woods the second he was close enough to know what was going on and actually do something about it. And he has a number of lines that sure do seem to say, “I will not let you die. I will always step in beforehand to make sure you and everyone else survives, so just lead us down the timeline that will give us the best ending.”
Like, Roswaal genuinely seems to care about Subaru quite a bit, and it really does come off like he WANTS to do right by him. And honestly…
If Return By Death DIDN’T involve Subaru having to die, and was instead some sort of time-travel ability that he could activate whenever he wanted, Roswaal’s attitude towards it in Arc 4 might have actually been solid advice. “Don’t worry about the people you leave behind in old timelines, because all that matters is that everything works out for us in the end. I don’t mind dying here so long as a version of me survives. You can’t be so hesitant to use it when the people you care about are in danger.” Hell, Roswaal seems to be of the mind that Subaru should use his broken ability to do as much as he can, and then the only thing he’ll suffer from afterwards are scars from what he’s WITNESSED that nobody else can know about — which Roswaal would then use “break periods” during times of safety at the manor to make sure Subaru doesn’t like. Have a breakdown from accumulated stress. Like a grad student having to crunch on some weekends to meet deadlines before going to a bar to blow off steam or something.
The fact that Subaru has to DIE to activate it 1) is something Roswaal crucially does not know and 2) recontextualizes absolutely EVERYTHING about the ability. Like, if we were watching Arc 4 from Roswaal’s POV we’d probably be like “Oh just stop being such a fucking baby and use your time travel ability Subaru…!” and then “Subaru has to die to use it” would probably be a MASSIVE twist and game-changer that turns everything on its head. It probably comes off like Subaru is refusing to use an ability that could literally save everyone he cares about from certain death time and again for no fucking reason.
Also there’s a couple details in Arc 2 about how like. Roswaal seems to just be getting used to the idea that he’s living with a time traveler now. Like in the bath he’s like “Ah, right. So I guess you’ve never seen me without my makeup on before.” Or he’s needling him about how much he knows. He might genuinely be under the impression that. Like. Subaru’s going to be time traveling for his own ends a lot during his stay at the mansion, and Roswaal is just gonna be sitting back and letting him do whatever he wants in that regard. “He’s still getting used to his new surroundings, so he’s probably gonna travel back in time a couple times while he tests out a few things and figures out what this place is.” Roswaal didn’t even actually know about the Wolgarm threat, and is largely implied to have just followed the instructions in his Tome without asking any questions about Why he was to leave the manor when Subaru left for the village a day early, so he might have legitimately just thought Subaru was screwing around to see what worked and what didn’t and was just kinda chill with it, because he took in a time traveler and the time traveler was gonna do time traveler things.
That makes me wonder what he was thinking during the 4th loop where Subaru woke up screaming and going insane, for some reason he just kinda did nothing, not even trying to figure out what happened. Wasn’t even that worried about the time traveller being like that, cmon bro what if his downward spiral gets worse and you end up in the Wrath IF.
Roswaal somehow fucking missed that Ram was crushing on him for several years and assumed that she despised him and was salivating for the moment she’d finally get to kill him. Roswaal is not an emotionally intelligent individual.
He did do one thing, actually. He told Subaru he was a guest, and could stay for as long as he wanted without worrying about food, shelter, etc. It seems like he might have just — tried to let him sort out whatever he was dealing with on his own, giving him the physical support he needed to focus only on whatever his mental issues were. “He must have witnessed something truly awful while he was looping in the Capital.” That might have been his assumption, even.
It should also be noted that Roswaal didn’t actually know what kind of person Subaru was. When he found out Rem died, he might’ve genuinely thought Subaru arranged for it to happen. It’s telling then, that Roswaal risks burning bridges by trying to threaten Subaru into bringing her back (even outright telling him how she died so he can fix things).
Wonder how he felt about Arc 4 then, because he legitimately had to accept that SOMEONE important to him had to be sacrificed in order to mold Subaru into someone like him
