Well of course I do. It’s just that I don’t have time for fun so often, but I’m not a workaholic either.
If only there weren't troublesome students, then you would have plenty of time.Â

I probably should take that as a compliment, so thank you. You’re right about Pan, but I have my duty and I’ll always get my job done.
Don't you ever do anything that you want to do? You always seem so busy with your job.Â
Dorm Duty - Open (primarily to students)
That certainly is fortunate, but as you’re expected to be able to do much more complicated math, that’s hardly impressive. If you could do trig mentally, that would be something to be proud of.
Mental trig? Just the thought of it hurts my brain. Besides, how do you know that I can't do that? Hmm?
Why do you even care if I enjoy my job? You are not my boss or a friend. You are my student. I teach you. If you choose to ignore what I say in class or lament about how boring the subject is, then that is hardly my fault. That’s your own choice.
You're right. It is none of my business, but I can't help the fact that I enjoy sticking my nose in places it shouldn't be. You're interesting, you know? I just wonder why you're wasting your life away doing something you don't enjoy.Â

Yeah, I’ve met Pan. We share a great amount of meetings.
I'm sorry. No one should have to deal with him on a regular basis. I don't think I could ever do your job. At least you're good at what you do.Â

You can finish the rest of my tasks today if you want to. Although, then other students, like Pan, would use their opportunities to make me look like an idiot, so maybe I’ll do them by myself.
Oh, so you've had the pleasure of meeting Peter as well? It's people like him that makes me glad that our roles are not reversed.Â
Good point - we are going to see each other a lot more often, Miyako. Let’s learn to trust each other.
Learn? Interesting way to put it, but I agree. Besides we do have a deal.
How do you propose we start this learning process?
Me? Earn your trust? Usually, it should be the other way around.
Trust is a two-way path. You earn mine and I earn yours. Simple.Â

Again, I’m very sorry. Are you done for your classes today?
Oh, yes. I'm just wandering to kill the time mostly.

Oh, I’m so sorry, I didn’t even notice you. I was just reading a text that I got from my old friend.
It's fine. Didn't you know its dangerous for women to walk around, their minds glued to their phones. Or at least that's what the news says.Â

Did I startle you? Wasn't aware it was a crime to walk through the courtyard.
I guess you still don’t trust me.Â
Not in the least. You haven't done anything to earn it.
Midday Mischief || Florence & Miyako
Florence couldn’t even imagine being alone in the woods for a whole day, but Miyako had lived there for years - long enough to teach herself the ropes and accept that it would be her home for the rest of her life. It was a terrifying thought. “That explains why you’re drawn to the forest here,” Flo muttered. “Ah… no. Well, I can put the pieces together. They probably sailed away to finish up whatever business they needed to address then realized they liked that place better than our old home. I don’t blame them.” Yes I do."This happened years and years ago. I don’t care about what they’re doing anymore." Florence bit the inside of her cheek and turned to Miya. "How’d you end up here at the academy?"
Miyako smiled sadly at Flo's comment about her drawn to the forest. It was true now that she thought about it. She only truly felt at peace when she was surrounded by the trees. Raising an eyebrow towards Flo, she couldn't help by comment. "You do blame them. Trust me, I know the feeling. I discovered that it actually helps to admit it. By hiding that you're going to slow destroy yourself." Miyako hoped her words would bring comfort. At first she had thought that Flo was a good person to pretend being friends with, but now she knew that this was what a real friendship was. She actually cared for the girl.Â
"I got bored with people coming to me for help..." She coughed. "I just needed change in my life and I figured this place was a good start."
I really wish it wasn't so cold.
Sounds good. I already hung up some things on my side, so our room finally won’t look like it’s about to tip over anymore.
I think I'll leave the decorating to you then. I'm clueless when it comes to those types of things. You point and I'll buy.Â
Midday Mischief || Florence & Miyako
The forest? “Mine abandoned me when I was seven,” she said honestly. It surprised her how similar their situations were. Florence had yet to forgive her parents for leaving without a trace. “Had some business thing they said they had to take care of. I couldn’t come. I told them not to go, but they did. And they didn’t come back.” Flo looked straight at Miyako and shrugged like it wasn’t a big deal. “My neighbors had to take care of me.”
"You're lucky you had someone to raise you." Miyako closed her eyes for a moment, shuddering at the memories of being lost in the forest. How long had it taken for her to finally turn her fear into anger? "I was alone, but I learned to survive." She also practiced her magic, learning that anger made it a lot stronger.Â
"Did you ever find out what happened to your parents?"
I really wish it wasn't so cold.
That’s a given. Let’s go.
Oh, by the way. I figured we could make a trip to town soon. I feel that I should own more stuff. My half of the room looks a little bare.
