What I'm trying to say is that Kuya's tendency to hide his ears and tail is a game of chess involving hierarchy and his own societal expectations of himself and others. Blade's not playing chess. He's picking up the pieces and noting how cute they are and turning them around in his fingers. It's not because he doesn't understand how chess works, but because he can't even see the board, it's not there, it's all in Kuya's head; however, Blade sees the pieces and he genuinely likes them, and he will let Kuya know.

I love some good Kuyablade. But yeah I definitely agree that Blade is good for Kuya in the sense that he doesn’t care or understand the made up hierarchy Kuya has in his head. He’s innocent, not in the weird innocent way, but in the way that he has no malice or hidden agenda. He likes Ku Ku. He thinks they’re friends and that Ku Ku just has quirks like everyone else.

Kuyaei is starting to warm up on me despite me wanting Eiden to top lmao and I love Pirate!Eiden and of course Mermaid!Kuya hehehe.

This AU is Kuya being rehabiliated and nursed back to health at an aquarium where he only wants Eiden to take care of him and no one else lol.
