Liushen Poem
I hated you when I first saw you
Your fists felt like oil pouring on an open fire
Your hits didn't hurt
They sparked a flame that burned brighter each day
--
You changed
I hated the idea
Your hits hurt
The flames didn't burn
They started to die down
Your fists no longer hurt
So long only as they only ever hit me
They sparked a different kind of flame that burned brighter each day
--
I tried to ignore as that first flame vanished and the second one ignited
I was told that flame was unrequited
I was thrown in water in hopes to douse a fire
I tried
Your fists hurt again
They started a spark
A spark that should have been to burn my fire
--
I wish that your hits didn't hurt again
I wish that the flame burned brighter
--
I wished that your hits would hurt again
If I could feel your fists on my skin just once more
For how my heart burns
