why dont ye write a book on your childhood memories?
Maybe when I'm a bit older. I'll have more wisdom and advice to offer, hopefully..
A Memorable Childhood
Back in the 1990s, my childhood was amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it. I used to do what ever made me happy. It often amazes me to see the children of today as compared to when I was a kid. We didn't own computers or phones, ipods or facebook at a young age.. Yet we were active and always outside playing with other kids, creating memories that would last forever. In all honesty, I was more active when I was young as compared to now. I didn't have the worries I do now, I didn't get bothered by things which easily get to me now. I was carefree, just enjoying every bit of my childhood. I didn't spend hours sitting infront of the computer, going on facebook. I was in and out of the house all day-- having the time of my life, not realizing I would miss those moments in the future. It makes me sad to see the youth of today, growing up so quickly and not enjoying their childhood to the fullest. I vivedly remember always being outside with my bestfriend. I remember riding my bike so far with my friends and having the time of my life outdoors. Most of the kids I look at today are mostly always in their house on a computer, or just sitting infront of a tv. They are not doing what I thought was ideal for a young person.. that is being outside with your bestfriends and being carefree; not trying to act older than your age, instead cherishing every moment in life. I loved my childhood, and I can proudly look back at it and just smile. I have every reason to say I am satisfied with the life I had, I did what I wanted, I was adventurous. For sure the youth of today will not be able to say the same when they are older.. sure they might be having "fun" playing on their computers, or using a phone which they don't even need yet.. but do they have any unique memories which stand out from the other day to day activities? The world is fast changing, the technology is changing constantly.. people are so caught up with trying to fit in and be up to date in everything that they forget to enjoy the moment, the present. Kids are wanting to grow up quick because they have these unrealistic expectations of being a teenager.. they are not aware of the struggles and hardships one faces through their journey in life. They think of the things a teenager can do, yet they don't see the dark side of growing up-- those are the responsibilities. All you got is the present, so stop worrying about the future and start living in the present moment.
