Our adventure around the USA, in my little Honda Fit. Lots of fun!

Day 37 - San Francisco (Ca) - Elko (Nv) : 835 km Day 38 - Elko (Nv) -Craig (Co) : 845 km Day 39 - Craig (Co) - North Platte (ne) : 773 km Day 40 - North Platte (ne) - Woodstock (on-CAN): 1895 km (YEAH i know. I drove 20 hours non-stop!) Day 41 - Woodstock (On)- Crabtree (qc .. HOME!) 774km on our way back home, we took the road to Rocky Mountains Np (picture). it was cold and beautiful :) We slept in Wal mart's parkings to save money. I always asked the autorization. That was a crazy roadtrip. i'll do it again for sure. with more experience. it will be easier to deal with some situations. i wish you the possibility to travel with your dog. it is without a doubt the greatest trip of my life !!! :) 🐶

Days 18 to 36 - San Francisco (Ca). There is SO much to say. Weather here is always perfect. Never too hot, never too cold. NOT pet-friendly places: (good to know) Golden gate bridge At&t stadium (except one day mate august) Stores on Fisherman's wharf Muir Woods PET-friendly places we went... -Coit Tower: it offers A Great 360 degrees view of the city. Fee: 7$. -A lot of beaches: Ocean Beach, Baker Beach... -Twin peaks: A little 2 minutes hike to get on top of those little windy hills... Funny to see our dog in all that wind. Offers A beautiful view of the bay. -Alamo square: this Park where you Can see the legendary painted ladies. This Small row of colorful houses. -Boat tours in fishermans wharf: 15$ for A Hunan. Free for the dog :) one hour boat tour in the bay. Going under the golden gate Bridge, around Alcatraz. A fun tour! -Some Restaurants offers A pet friendly outside table. We found some using Yelp And Go pet friendly App. -Golden Gate Park: we walked through the Park several times. -Crissy Fields: we loved walking there, with an Amazing view on the Bridge. We walked on beaches. ;)

Day 17- Yosemite-San Francisco (Ca) : 442 km We woke up early to drive to glacier point in Yosemite. One of My favorite places! Paved Trail where i could walk My dog. Crazy view. (Getting A parking spot was not easy though!) Then we drove to San Francisco. This city was our final goal. We would stay there 20 days. I rent A studio using AirBnB. A perfect pet friendly spot near Ocean Beach And Golden gate park! A studio with A backyard where My dog could walk Off leash. Owners were living in the second floor, with their friendly dog Khalo. My baby found A friend. I could leave My studio door open all Day, There was no way she could escape (fenced backyard). Owners even played with her when i was out. Grocery store by walking distance, pet-friendly-Ocean Beach 15 minutes-walking. A true paradise! My next post Will be talking about San Francisco. :)

Day 16- Las Vegas (Nv) - Yosemite (Ca): 660km

Our goal: Entering California! :) Yosemite has some pet friendly paved trails where you Can bring your dog. Just driving in that Park vives you Amazing views.

You have to be careful if you take your pet out of the car: Wild animals live there. I saw a wolf, A baby bear And a deer on My way. My dog is the kind of dog Who wants to be friend with everybody… SO i dont let her approach wild animals. She never feels the danger of jumping happily on other animals ;)

We slept at Crane Flat campground. 20$. Bear boxes.

Day 15- Las Vegas (Nevada) : 18 km We had the chance to read on the net that Premium Outlet North Vegas was pet friendly. We decided to take the day to Go shopping! :D this was perfect! They only asked that i take My dog in My arms when i entered the stores. Outside, i could let in walk while on-leash. My dog chose herself A toy at the Disney Store :) We went back to the hotel (la Quinta Inn). The only cons of that pet-friendly hotel is that dogs are not allowed in the breakfast room, neither in the pool area. It gets hard when you are traveling Alone with your pet. I can't leave My dog Alone in the room because she would bark (quite anxious And dependant girl!). Anyway They don't want us to leave the dog in the room. I was shocked that some people did let their dogs in their rooms. Some barking And crying Late at night. If you are going to Vegas to party, why so you bring your dog? :( OH And please.... Clean up after your dog!! Can't believe how many People act SO disrespectfully by leaving poo in the pet -friendly outside area. Bags And trash are available. Be responsible!!

Day 14- Las Vegas (Nevada) We spend the morning walking the Strip, taking some pictures with the Vegas Sign And some m&m outside. :) when sidewalks became too hot for My baby's paws, we went to our hotel where i ordered pizza And enjoyed A/C. ;P We slept in our perfect-cold room at La Quinta Inn.

Day 13- Zion- Valley of Fire - Las Vegas (Nv): 352 km On our way to Vegas, we drove through Valley of fire state park . Fee was 10$. It was way too hot for My puppy so she stayed a lot in the car with A/C on. The view was incredible. Driving in Those roads was amazing. Colorful place. Unbelievable! We slept at Motel 6 on Boulder st in Vegas cause we were in advance. We were supposed to sleep in the state Park but wanted to be in A cooler place for the night! ;)

Day 12 - Page (AZ) - Zion (UT) : 200 km In the morning, i wanted to see Antelope Canyon (upper). As it is not pet friendly, Clochette had to be somewhere she would be safe. Animal Hospital on 7th avenue was perfect for her. For $17, i left her their (we were both heart broken!) for 2 hours. I usually dont Do that but i really wanted to see Antelope. The place was AMAZING. We Then went to Zion NP. There is only one pet friendly trail So we walked on it A bit. We Also went in the river, which is beside the Trail, because it was pretty hot. Even the water was hot, but My dog enjoyed it anyway. We slept at Watchman campground. A Great spot, a lot of shadow surrounded by montains. Sunset was beautiful. (No showers though).

Day 11- grand canyon (AZ) - Page (AZ) : 255 km The next morning, we left the campground, stopped at some view point (desert view). Our next destination was Horseshoe Bend, near Page. This place was Crazy. The view is unbelievable. It's A short hike (15 minutes). But be careful. In July, at 12pm, sun is way too hot. The sand was So hot that My dog couldnt wall in it. I had to take her in My arms So she wont Burn her feet. Maybe it would have been more fun for My pup if she could have walked the trail herself buy i didnt want to Risk it. Bring plenty of water too!! ;) We slept at A pet friendly campground (page/lake powell campground). Cheap (less than 20 Bucks), with A beautiful scenery all around it.

Day 10 - Tucson (AZ) - Grand Canyon south Rim (AZ) : 600 km

On our way to Grand Canyon, we stopped by Catalina State Park to hike A trail where we could see lots of saguaro cactus. This state Park is pet friendly, So that’s A good alternative to Saguaro NP.

There are Also plenty of other cactus So you have to be very careful. Some are dangerous, like the cholla cactus (take A look on YouTube!) The hike was cool, we were alone there in early morning. Beautiful view. After that, i drove to Grand Canyon. We watched the sunset in the Canyon. There were a lot of paved trails where Clochette was allowed. See next post for Pictures. ;) We slept at pet friendly Mather Campground.

Day 9- Alamogordo (NM) - Tucson (AZ) : 566 km

We Then went in Tucson because we wanted to see some saguaro cactus. We stopped at Hampton Inn to sleep first. This pet friendly hotel was the more comfortable hotel i have ever been in. We had 2 king beds So Clochette decided to sleep alone in her own bed that night.

As i couldnt take her to the breakfast room, i parked the car near the principal door (lobby), locked the doors with A/C on, took some snacks as A breakfast And Ate it in the way to Calatina state Park (next post!).

Day 8- Roswell (NM) - Alamogordo (NM) : 282 km

4 words: White Sand National Monument.

Those pet friendly dunes are Just SO amazing. It was perfect !! Clo enjoyed running in the White sand. It was magical. Looks like snow but it’s soft has heaven. We were there at sunset, So the sans wasn’t hot for our feet/paws. It cost 3$ to get in. Fun fun fun!!!!

A Must see :)

We slept in A KOA campground. They are pet friendly. This one was 20$.

Day 7- Amarillo (Tx) - Roswell (NM): 370 km We were lucky to arrive in Roswell during the UFO Festival. My dog And I walked down the streets, got gifts, people have Clo fresh water, everything was perfect. We even met Chewbacca! :D Then we went to the UFO Museum... PET FRIENDLY! So cool! Clo enjoyed seeing all Those ETs. Or maybe she was afraid? :P at the souvenirs shop, Then gave her A green-man-toy. :) she was soooo happy! We slept at pet friendly Days Inn. Little con: cant bring My dog at the breakfast room, even for take out. I tried to leave her in the room And to do fast. It took me maybe 10 minutes. She cried/barked all the Time :/ Someone complained :/ So now i know i really cant leave my pup alone in A room. She is way too anxious. I Will have to find Another solution next Time!

Day 6 (part 2) Little dog place at the big steak ranch! Amarillo, Texas.

Day 6- Oklahoma City (Ok)- Amarillo (Tx) : 414 km On our way to Amarillo, we stopped in Elk City to wall around the route 66 museum (outside). Then we stopped in Conway to see Bug Ranch (similar to Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo). We were alone there. It was Amazing. We wrote our names in A car :) Clo enjoyed trying to catch some grass hoppers :) After that we set up the tent at RV Park Ranch in Amarillo, A pet friendly camping near the famous big steak ranch. This place is beautiful. The 2 dog Parks are fenced. So if you dog isnt much friendly And that there are dogs in one of the Parks, you can still go in the second fenced area :)

Day 5- Memphis (Tn) - Oklahoma City (Ok) :780 km Driving again. We wanna reach our goal asap! (California) We slept in A Super 7. Pet friendly. The only place where i could being My dog even in the breakfast room! Other pet friendly motels And hotels wont allow them there. We were suppose to pay A pet fee but the guy let My dog sleep for free ^^ yay! Picture: sleeping in the car looks like this. Tongue out nights! ;)

Day 4- Joliet (ill) - Memphis (Tn) : 883 km

Driving driving driving.

I was happy to be at my friend’s house at 5pm ! I was a bit Sick, didnt know What i had. I was lucky my friend could take care of My dog while i was going to see A doctor!

We didnt stay in Memphis to visit. We just stopped to take A shower And sleep. So can’t tell about pet friendly places there. But My friend told be her dog was stolen while he was in her yard. :( So i kept an eye on My dog at every second !
