writing a chessmarimo fic and it’s fun but also hard bc i have to stop and think and lot… i feel like there’s not enough known abt their personalities for me to enter a flow state. i usually love writing dialogue too but rn im just like… would he say that? would he do that? hmm

Chessmarimo is a great ship. I lowkey ship them, too. Like, I think them being gay (and for each other) makes sense in-universe. Like Wapol would 100% enjoy the fact that they are loyal to him, but also aren't a competition when it comes to having affairs with Drum kingdom girls.

Yay, I’m glad there are others who agree, it’s a super cute ship! I really like your idea of Wapol being cool with it, too. The way I was writing it, Wapol doesn’t know that they’re into each other despite it being very, very obvious. Like, there’s a part in my (unfinished) fic where he walks in on them in a compromising position and he’s just like “Chess write down a new law” and Chess gets up and does it, and then Wapol’s like “Alright you two can go back to wrestling” then leaves. Totally unfazed and unaware.

Now I want to rewrite some things because I like your idea much better, especially in a live action-leaning, less cartoony sense. I think I was going too humorous with it, lol.
