im sorry but hear me out... Jason Momoa is Hawaiian and was cast to play Aquaman, his wife/queen is a white woman, nothing wrong with that, besides the fact that it was a perfect opportunity to cast a Woman of color, until I remembered that Hollywood would rather self implode than let us see a successful and powerful couple who are not one or both white. such an amazing opportunity ruined again. I mean seriously, think of Aquaman going home to his beautiful Hawaiian/African/Asian queen, what a powerful message that would send, but instead we get Amber fucking Heard.

I actually really like that Aquaman’s costuming will reflect humanity’s abuse of his home–of all the DC characters that could get a gritty update, someone who has to deal with humanity’s disregard for the natural world as much as Aquaman does is probably one of the most deserving.
