so random but biggest hoo miss (even tho this would probably mess up the timeline or smth) was not having percy have a random cameo in tlh

it would’ve been SO fucking funny if they happen upon him during their quest but since they don’t know him/don’t really know what he looks like and he mist would be fucking with his face or whatever they just assume he’s a rouge demigod the whole time

like they go to camp everyone talks abt percy they leave they meet his random guy who looks older in the day but at night definitely looks a little different maybe younger but it’s kinda hard to pinpoint and they’re like “hmm he’s definitely not percy there’s no way…”

maybe pipers too stressed with her dad to recognize his face from the photos annabeth showed her so they keep going on with their quest and this guy just keeps popping up randomly and he’s like a really good fighter so they tell him abt camp and ask if he wants to come with but the guy says he’s looking for someone and he’s pretty sure they’re somewhere west so they say their goodbye and peace out and the rest of the book plays out

they think nothing of this and the guy doesn’t react to the name percy and maybe he’s a red head or a brunette or maybe it was a dusty blonde ?? they can’t really remember but he definitely didn’t have green eyes they were probably brown or blue or smth so they go back to camp jason realizes what’s happened his memories are back and the mist has been lifted and THATS when they realize who he was after several days and many miles back at camp when it’s far too late

i WISH rick was a good enough writer for not even the reader to realize what’s happening i feel like it would’ve been a cool way to lead up to the fact that there’s a second camp bc that would’ve made it obv to where percy would be going

I’m thinking of CIP, or congenital insensitivity to pain. It’s the catch-all term for when someone can’t feel pain due to various rare conditions.

I’m picturing this for Percy, but only for liquids. And it doesn’t hurt him. People with CIP have to be very careful because they can accidentally burn or cut themselves and not realize it.
