what the fuck man why don't you like mint chocolate chip ice cream? what is wrong with you??
Mint ice cream was made by demons.
You sound exactly like @moesaurusrex.
You damn well know I don’t like mint ice cream because I have an aversion due to childhood memories of mint and choking. <3
Mint ice cream isn’t made by demons, I just hate the notion of it being in my mouth. Anyone else can have it for all I care.
leaving this right here…
you’re still bigoted if you’re indifferent to the pain and suffering of people different from you though.
it’s not just “i hate Brown/Black/lgbt/Muslim/Jewish people”; it’s also “I’m able to turn a blind eye to their suffering because i don’t consider it important. i only recognize and care for the pain of others like me”.
“you’re acceptable collateral damage”
Which is why the subsequent “we’ve survived worse” is all the more infuriating. You’ve already written marginalized folks off for whatever reason, because you’re hoping for the rose in this pile of shit
It’s always marginalized bodies that don’t get a chance to “survive worse”
Complicity with bigotry IS bigotry.
Bigotry is not just an intentional act or a hateful belief against a group held in ones mind and heart. Bigotry is process more complicated than that. Those who do not oppose bigotry tacitly approve it in the minds of other, bolder bigots.
Do Jews feel things? Do we have horns? Are we really in control of the media? Nazis would like to know. Y'all, we need to stop calling the alt-right anything but neo-Nazis.
this is….unreal
Welcome to Nazi America.
WHY THE FUCK ARENT YOU PEOPLE[GENTILES]REBLOGGING THIS. THE ALT-RIGHT[NEO-NAZIS] ARE ASKING IF WE ARE PEOPLE. WHY ARENT YOU REBLOGGING THIS? DO WE NOT DESERVE TO BE REPRESENTED? DO WE NOT DESERVE PROTECTION? FUCK!
When you don’t think a group are “people” it’s very eassy to abuse them. They’re not people with feelings, an experience of pain, families, or lives after all. It was easy for SS officers to execute Jews, Poles, Romani, and queer people in the Holocaust because they didnt think we were people. This isn’t just hateful. It’s dangerous. It’s dangerous the way the Muslim Registry is dangerous. These are pre-genocide red flags.
I AM A JEWISH PERSON. JEWS ARE PEOPLE. ALL PEOPLE ARE PEOPLE. A PERSON IS A PERSON NO MATTER HOW SMALL.
If you follow me and you don’t reblog this, just, fuck off. I’m serious. I’m done being politically correct. Unfollow me and just fuck off because you don’t care and I don’t want you here.

I can confirm Jews are people. Jews are very nice people. A Jewish gentleman brought me electrolytes every other day when I was sick and my husband was deployed. A Jewish gentleman is now my landlord and he’s been quite kind. I have several friends who are conservative and Jewish and several who are progressive and Jewish. Therefor they run the gambit if political leanings - just like any other person. Therefore logically - Jews are people. Jews are good people no less.
Jews are humans. Jews do not need you to talk about how progressive and wonderful we are. We need you to fight the Nazis who think that we literally AREN’T HUMAN.
I’m dismayed that this is a conversation we’re having. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t be having it right now, just dismayed that neo-nazis are gaining ground in the world right now.
Jews are human beings. Full stop. It’s not a topic for debate.
New topic: What’s the best way to fight anti-semitism and bigotry in general?

Jews are people But free Palestine ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
Do Leftists ever fucking listen to themselves? Someone is denying the very humanity of an oppressed minority, and your response is to minimize it because you disagree with the actions of a country the size of fucking Rhode Island.
Like, are you the sort of person who would redirect and minimize using ISIS if someone said on CNN that Muslims might be soulless demons? Would you be the type to redirect and minimize using Tibet and China’s crimes against humanity if someone said on CNN that the Chinese might all be soulless automata? What about redirecting and minimizing using black-on-black violence if someone on CNN said Black people were soulless non-humans? I CERTAINLY FUCKING HOPE NOT. SO WHY THE ACTUAL FUCK WOULD YOU DO IT TO JEWS.
Oh, right, because ~anti-Zionists~ have spent so long trying to make ~anti-Zionism~ a safe space for antisemites that they can’t even look at actual Nazis and see racism for what it is.

this is why the electoral college fucking sucks.
Without the electoral college, the determining factor of the elections would be California, Chicago and New York just because they have more people concentrated in one area. Our system is the best of the best and the people spoke. I’m hurt as well as most of America but the best thing we can do is keep an open mind, accept, and move on.
So what? Why does it matter if the majority of votes come from one area? If most of the people in the country want one person to be president, then that person should be president. Why should it matter where they’re from?
And that’s not even the reason the college was made in the first place. It was made for 2 reasons. 1. The founding fathers didn’t trust the citizens. They thought the citizens were too uneducated to make a good choice. And 2. It’s easier to count the votes of a small group of people all in one place rather than millions across the country when there’s no cars or internet.
In today’s age, neither of those reasons are valid anymore. There is no good reason for the electoral college to exist. If the majority of people want someone as president, that person should be president.
Here is why the electoral college sucks:
Without the electoral college, every single vote would count exactly the same. No vote anywhere in the country would be worth more than any other vote. Now you may ask, but Raymond, isn’t it like this already?
NO. IT FUCKING IS NOT.
Take Wyoming for example. Wyoming has a population of 584,000 people. They also have 3 electoral college votes. This means that each 194,667 votes is worth one electoral college vote in Wyoming. Now let’s look at California. California has a population of 38.8 million people and 55 electoral college votes. This means that it takes 705,455 votes for each electoral college vote.
A VOTE IN WYOMING IS WORTH 3.5X MORE THAN A VOTE IN CALIFORNIA.
It literally takes 3.5 times more votes to get 1 electoral vote in California than it does in Wyoming. How tf is that fair?
Don’t come in here and tell me how it’s the best system and without it the only determining factor would be certain cities. How does that even make sense? Without it, a vote in New York City is worth the exact same amount as a vote in any other city, or town, regardless of population. I personally would like my vote to count for exactly the same as anyone else. My vote shouldn’t count as less because I live in a more densely populated city.
What a good explanation! ^
As it stands, the electoral college makes it so that presidents run to be presidents of the swing states, a fact that I am disgusted by.
miscommunication as a plot device makes me angry
if you just talked to each other but no
on the one hand i agree with this but on the other hand one of my coworkers rented an alpaca from a petting zoo and brought it to work because my boss said she wanted an alpaca sweater but the guy didn’t hear her say sweater and didn’t want to upset her by asking why the fuck she’d want an alpaca
I think that highlights a good genre difference: miscommunication in drama is frustrating, overused, and just kinda shit. Miscommunication in comedy is fucking hilarious.
I think miscommunication in drama has to make the audience understand in their heart why the issue in question is hard to talk about.
I admit I’m not fully sober right now, but listen up:
I just looked over at my cat and realized that she doesn’t give a shit about who’s president. And why doesn’t she give a shit? Because I take care of her.
So here’s what we’re gonna do, we’re all gonna take care of each other. Watch each other’s back, let each other vent, support your friends who are lgbt, black, disabled, muslim, or any of the things that a Trump presidency is hateful towards.
Go fucking vote in 2018, every single House seat is contested in the mid-term. But until then, UNITE, ok? Enough of this clique shit, we’re all fighting the same battle.
We’re gonna take care of each other. We’re gonna make it. And we’re gonna kick ass in the long run.
it’s over
i had realised i hadn’t drawn a single thing where pearl is wearing a suit after mr greg aired so i made this… and it made me remember how much i dislike drawing suits lkdfj ANYWAY i’m so proud of pearl, what a good.

By its very definition, slang is simple. It is informal language used by a group of people to discuss or describe certain concepts or characteristics that are implicitly understood if one is a member of said group. As such, approaching slang as if it is some layered, highly nuanced matter in which the individual who uses it reveals something about both themselves and society at large, is unnecessarily complicated and possibly insane.

"I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression of a hateful foreign ideology.”
Donald Trump
What we need as LGBTQ citizens is protection from the violence and oppression of a hateful domestic ideology.
I don’t think the plagiarism in Melania’s speech is being talked about by the media as a deliberate smear campaign. It’s being talked about because whoever wrote it just about couldn’t have chosen a worse passage to plagiarize: not only was Michelle another woman who, at the time, was hopeful to be the First Lady (and the wife of President Obama who Trump has in the past approved of but now, as party politics necessitate, is a strict critic of), the passage plagiarized was about valuing respect and hard work.
Plagiarism demonstrates neither of those qualities.
I condemn other politician’s instances of plagiarism, but if you want to know why the media is so fixated on this but not those incidents there are two reasons: 1) things surrounding elections (and especially Trump) gets put under a microscope by the 24 hour news cycle’s insatiable need to fill air time, 2) the plagiarism in question couldn’t have been more ironic if the writer tried. The passage plagiarized was spoken by the wife of what can described as Republican Party Enemy #1, and the passage plagiarized was about hard work and respect.
Honestly? The whole scandal of this is kind of stupid and inconsequential... the scandal itself, but the fact that it happened matters, because it reflects on Trump’s campaign, which reflects on what kind of President he would be. As a President, one needs to be capable of finding good staff to help find other good staff, and his campaign couldn’t find a staff of writers or proofreaders (even if Melania wrote the speech herself vetting the speech would be done by others) and none of them managed to catch this. This is the quality of people he’s surrounding himself with right now: lazy, bumbling, and/or incompetent.
Furthermore, his response to the situation is yet another example of how much of a liar he is. The plagiarism is obvious once it’s pointed out to you. He might as well be telling us that the sky is green. He’s a man who will lie about anything and everything if he feels like it, even if the facts are against him. That’s the kind of man he is, the kind of President he would be.
