A/N - I’ve created it with a Lady Macbeth/Macbeth dynamic in mind. I’m gonna try incorporate that into this fic as we go along. This is gonna be a long series. You could call it a slow burn but in terms of the plot. But I promise I’m pouring my heart and soul into this thing.

Summary: Action takes place in the season 2 of stranger things.

Word count: about 2 200 words

Chapter 1

Smash of the door. The twist of the key. Loud roar of the engine. Sudden rush of adrenaline that made goosebumps rise up on her skin. And then quick and daring take off.

The feeling was nearly invincible each and every time, but in its steadfast nature it never failed to bring a little bit of joy to her heart. As the machine accelerated it felt like taking a shot directly to the veins. And then what came next was just a steady, subtle drift that set her off into the wide blue. Mika in those moments was finally able to relax. Could forget about the sombreness of the reality that sourrounded her. Even if it was just a second, she could finally get a glimpse of how it felt to be truly free. The wind grizzled into the girl’s ear and winnowed wildly through her hair to the beats of hard rock music coming from the radio. As the next track blasted out from the speakers, Mika was quick to recognize the piece. The song began with a distinguishable, descending tetrachord in a form of slow tremolo. It repeated itself a couple of times before the second guitar and the drums joined in. Soon enough, the lead vocalist started singing. Mika tightened the grip on the steering wheel and clenched her jaw in response. On paper the song seemed her type: full of energy and spark, quick-paced, with off the chain solos. If it was not for the lyrics, it would surely land on one of her personal cassette tapes. The persona came across as someone with real naive worldview and it was enough to struck her nerve. It didn’t take a minute before she was speeding up.

Lou Scheimer was born to a German Jewish family and believed that his cartoons had a responsibility to teach children kindness and respect for everybody.

Back then there were also MILITANT divides between “boy’s” and “girl’s” entertainment but when he found out He-Man had at least a small following of little girls he pitched the concept of He-Man’s sister She-Ra and was insistent she be as tough a warrior as her brother. He saw that girls actually did like “scary” sword and sorcery and had a WHOLE NEW FUCKING SHOW made so they could feel acknowledged and have a heroine to look up to with her very own series.

Later he would help design a whole new sci-fi fantasy setting with the most creative control he ever had, Bravestarr, and was adamant that the hero be a Native American man, the first ever in a starring role on a kid’s action show. He also wanted Bravestarr to be a positive role model by being a patient, gentle, soft spoken man who abhors violence and avoids using guns at all costs. These cartoons are remembered as schlocky toy commercials and they ARE entertaining that way but real love went into them by a really wonderful guy who sincerely hoped he’d make his fans at least a little more sensitive even as he reeled them in with barbarians and robots.

And Erika Schemier, a producer and voice actor at Filmation, once had this to say about the company:

“I was a strong female voice myself, and-guess what?-I happened to be gay. Does that make any difference about anything? I’ll tell you one thing, it didn’t matter, because Filmation was one of the gayest places in town.”

Quote from a 2011 interview by the way, unfortunately the original interview went down so we only have this secondary article on it. Erika is Lou’s daughter, a lesbian, and did several series voices. She’s also said “If we were doing it today and if I had any say in it, we absolutely would introduce a gay character.” It’s okay if you don’t like the new art style, characters they’ve dropped or some other major changes, that’s unavoidable, but anyone complaining that gayness has been shoehorned into it (and there really isn’t even that much) they really don’t understand or respect what the original creators were about. Here’s an audio interview I just found that is still up in which she discusses how He-Man and She-Ra were meant to integrate “pro social messages” and they refused to stop no matter how much their network higher-ups complained about it (and they did, constantly, but the shows made them too much money)

1. Behind the eyes: eye strain or just long stress. More sleep will definitely make this feel better. 2. Temples: unclench your jaw, as that bone is putting too much pressure on your temples.
