Noelle Hastings was staking her claim. At least, she was trying to. Not that anyone was buying it, really. She kept cornering Robby in the ED every time she came down. He’d brush her off and move on, but she didn’t seem to be getting the hint.
She kept trying to rekindle their relationship from almost two years ago and he just wasn’t interested. That didn’t keep her from letting pretty much the entire hospital think they were dating. If asked directly, Robby would shoot the rumors down but otherwise, he just didn’t see why it was anyone’s business who he was dating.
You were the Pitt’s favorite neuro, always responding quickly to requests for consult or letting them know why there was a delay. You’d just examined a patient with a possible TBI and were at the hub entering your notes and ordering tests.
Robby turned from where he’d been talking to Dana only to run into Noelle. “I heard you’re going on a sabbatical in a couple of days,” she said. “Three months.”
He tilted his head as if trying to figure out where she was going with this. “I am.”
“Three months is a long time to be alone. You should take me with you. Or let me meet you somewhre,” she said, leaning into his space with a smile.
“Now, why would I do that?” Robby moved around her to continue to his previous destination, giving you a nod and a wink on the way by.
Noelle huffed a sigh and sat her tablet down on the counter in front of Dana. The charge nurse looked at her over the top of her glasses. “Everything okay?”
“There is no way he’s going to be gone the full three months. The man can’t stand to be alone. He sleeps with the TV on in the bedroom.”
You gave up any pretense of pretending you weren’t listening and leaned back in your chair, brow arched in disbelief.
Dana’s brow furrowed. “I don’t think I needed to know that.”
Noelle just shrugged and grabbed her tablet. “Lighten up, Evans.” She turned and spotted you watching. “Oh, I didn’t see you there.”
“Sure, you didn’t.” You shook your head and went back to finishing your orders. After a beat you realized Dana was watching you. “What?”
“You okay with her and Robby?” She gestured in the direction Hastings had disappeared.
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
She narrowed her eyes. “You know damn well everyone in this department, and your own, are wondering when you and Robby will get together. You don’t care at all he’s with someone else?”
You huffed a laugh and stood, pushing in the chair. You moved closer, lowering your voice so only she could hear. “Dana, Robby hasn’t slept with the TV on in well over a year. So, no, I don’t care what Noelle Hastings has to say about it.”
Her mouth dropped open as you grinned. “See you later, Evans.” You turned back to face her as you walked away. “Oh, by the way, I’m leaving on a three month sabbatical in two days. You’ll have to page someone else for your consults.”
You ignored her calling after you once her shock wore off, waving as you got on the elevator.
And if you and Robby both wore wedding bands when you returned from your respective sabbaticals? Well, that was no one’s business but your own.
Man I know we’re 5 days in 2026 but I wanted to talk about 2025 for a bit. 2025 was a fucking amazing year full of new experiences and new friends and I’m really looking forward to this year!
Last year, I got to see Ghost and Sleep token for the first time. I also saw Mad Gallica perform as well and she was fabulous! I went to a renaissance faire for the first time and also went to a ghost themed Friendsgiving and it was fabulous! I also got my second tattoo and I got to hold a tarantula for the first time and it was super cool! I also went to the Woods of Terror for their Krampus Christmas event and now I wanna go back and I got myself an Impera ghoul helmet for cosplay!
The people I have met are also amazing and I look forward to making more memories with my ghesties 🥺 @themadvalkyrie @rogues-r-we @moku-chan018 @ladyknightskye I am so glad to have met all of you 🥹 Becuase of yall and so many others, I have been inspired to do more cosplay 🥺
Because of Ghost I have become a lot more social and come across so many new people and places and look forward to more amazing experiences this year~
