the time period of about six months between the ritz and moving in to the south downs cottage is probably the most insane time, because crowley and aziraphale 100% just do a double speedrun of their joint mid-life crisis featuring such Phases as: 

aziraphale, inspired by his journey to tadfield, buys a lovely white vespa and matching helmet and scoots around soho in it 

crowley starts experimenting with NEON COLORS in his apparel, clashing awfully of course due to snakevision 

aziraphale starts teaching himself to cook and nearly sets the bookshop on fire AGAIN thereby inadvertently re-traumatizing crowley and putting an end to THAT

crowley tries a bunch of awful facial hair styles including a supervillain goatee because he’s anxious about not being perceived as demonic anymore

and they cycle through about a dozen more bizarre hobbies and sartorial experiments before finally landing on a lifestyle that pretty much precisely resembles the way they went about things before, except this time with More Kissing, bless their hearts
