I don’t think Spark immediately left our galaxy with Bastion.

Not right away at least.

I like to think he stuck around until the Created had been hobbled in 2559.

At least.

Until then, I imagine the galaxy became filled with rumours, stories and myths of a mysterious rogue planet.

One imbued with a Forerunner Lifeworker sigil, and a deep connection to Living Time. Host to ancient secrets and older knowledge long lost.

One which would show up out of nowhere answering distress calls from civilians.

Obliterating Banished, Covenant and Created forces in mere seconds, before helping those they could and moving on just as quickly.

(Those of you who are familiar with Greg Bear’s work outside Halo will know where I got my inspiration from, and I’m not ashamed to admit it. I like to think this would be a fitting tribute to his memory)

every time this debate gets brought up i laugh because the forerunner lore is one of the coolest parts of the series and some chuds just want to wipe it all away just bc they have a grudge against game studio leadership from 14 years ago and because their Lord and Savior Marty (who is a complete douchebag on many levels) said it was canon (it was only ever a concept for Halo 2)
