I n t e r e s t i n g…. The thief didn’t miss the slip of the other man’s tongue, the inadvertent compliment not falling on deaf ears. Though before the man could even think of a witty comeback or a quip of his own he was witness to a very flustered display.
Watching in a sort of dumbstruck awe as the blue haired man took his purchase and took off without even a bag or a receipt, it was only when his customer had already initiated his embarrassed flee that Gaius realized he had paid nearly triple what the trinket was worth.
For a moment he contemplated just letting him go. He had taken a lot more for a lot less before and he could use the money. But a laboured sigh fell from his lips, reminding himself that he was trying to start a new with a legitimate business and the last thing he needed was for rumours to spread that he was ripping off customers.
Pulling himself off his stool he hurried after the other, grateful he hadn’t gone all that far yet.
“Oi! Hey Blue, wait! Did you want your change, or you know, half the stall for how much you payed me?”
Sh*t.
Chrom froze in his tracks when the ginger-haired male called him over. Did he underpay after all? First he gives the other a completely unnecessary compliment then he pays him the wrong amount. Add that to the fact that his face still felt like it was engulfed in flames and Chrom is reduced to nothing more than an awkward, stuttering mess.
“My apologies! I knew I shouldn’t have- - Wait, did you say change?”
The blue-haired teen just stood there, staring at the other for a few moments before a small, relieved sigh leaves his lips. He offers the goldsmith a smile, gently pushing the bills back into his hand.
“Ah, no, it’s fine. You can keep it. I just thought it would be terrible if I didn’t pay enough but a bit of excess is good in this case. I’d like to think your tools aren’t the cheapest.”
“Please take this - from my sisters and I.”

Corrin gave a nod walking through the door not thinking much of the gesture since it happened to common courtesy though the kiss on the hand was a little different than what she was used to, there was still so much to learn about the ways of royal families and relations.
“Alright now who do we talk to about this…?” Corrin quickly pondered that question with in her head for a few minutes before looking to chrom maybe there was a way to use the male’s looks and posture to their advantage in some way “say Chrom have you ever tried acting like a prince? You seem to be the kind of person who would fit into that kind of category. Maybe we can use that somehow…”
Corrin quickly thought the situation over and over though she could never really find a good solution to anything that involved quick fixes as to not waste much of anyone’s time, certainly this was proving more difficult by the moment.
“A prince- -?”
Chrom had to consciously suppress a nervous twitch. His disguise was flawless, was it not? Or maybe something he said let it slip through. Gods, his security detail wouldn’t be pleased if they found out their plans have fallen through because of one curious young lady.
Calm down, Chrom. Calm down.
Seems like Corrin hasn’t figured him out quite yet. All he had to do was stay calm and politely refuse such a ridiculous idea- -
“If I’m a prince then you must be a fire-breathing dragon- -!”
The scientist followed as he was led to the spot where the creature was last seen, the evidence left behind a clear indication that it was definitely his missing creature and not another animal that merely happened to pass by. His companion’s description of what he had seen gave further confirmation but unfortunately the creature was no longer in the vicinity.
He knelt down to inspect the area and noted what seemed to be a trail. It meant the hunt was still very much in progress but at least he had a lead now unlike before.
“Well, it is a bit of a strange creature, being the Biology Lab’s pet and all…”
Komui hadn’t been expecting the other male to volunteer his services but he was grateful nevertheless. Hopefully the extra pair of hands and added expertise would make the daunting task somewhat easier.
“I would really appreciate your help, especially since my hunting talents tend more towards rogue robots than rogue animals.”
“Rogue... robots?”
Chrom didn’t think he should ask any further about that, nor of the fact that the other seemed used to such strange occurrences.
“Right, well, I suppose we should start heading out. Unless you have some materials we can use to track and trap it?”
Honestly, neither of them seemed properly equipped for such a task. If the creature was quick on its feet, they’ll need a net or something similar to slow it down. And if it threatened to bite them... Well, they can just hope there was a hospital nearby if such a thing happens.
“Ah, my name is Chrom by the way. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, doctor.”`
Where on earth could that creature have wandered off to…
Komui desperately hunted through the foliage, hoping that he would spot his elusive quarry although he had been having very little success thus far. The creature in question was an experimental subject belonging to the biology lab which he had been asked to supervise for one reason or another. He just hadn’t realised how wily and determined to escape the creature was at the time of his acceptance.
The scientist had started wandering if inventing some sort of creature capture device would make his task simpler when another male voice spoke up from behind him. Turning to regard the stranger with curiosity, his expression brightened when he realised that his chances of catching the little nuisance had just improved.
“You saw it? Could you show me the exact spot?”
“Over there.”
Chrom walked to the spot long-vacated by the strange creature. Closer inspection showed that some of the grass has been crushed, stray dandelions bent and scattered. There were odd pawprints too, almost like the creature tried to mark the area before it was startled away.
“It seemed really frightened, or else somewhat rabid. Resembled a rabbit with bigger ears and... fangs? At least I think it was fangs. They were too big to be ordinary rabbit teeth.”
The blue-haired teen frowned slightly, that unsettling feeling in his gut growing. To have something like that loose in the city...
“I can help you catch it if you want. I’ve been to several hunts back home. I reckon this won’t be too different.”
The exalted bloodline
“What, are you some kind of crane game champion? That’s pretty lame.” Sasuke said with the usual bite in his tone, drawing his gaze back to the other. Still, despite this, he slipped another couple of tokens into the machine and stepped aside, offering over control of the machine. At this point, he was willing to sacrifice some of his immense pride if only to leave the area sooner. It really was a mistake offering to help that child.
“Be my guest.” Sasuke said roughly, leaning slightly on the machine as he waited. He was only a little bit interested in what this guy could do, or if he was just all theory and backseat gaming.
“That title sounds rather impressive, though.”
Chrom gives a slight nod of gratitude before taking the controls. His entire demeanor seemed to change as he focused on applying his strategy. The crane hovered a particularly attractive-looking snake plush with purple spots. The cloth tag was poised up in the air - a perfect target as he manipulated the crane down at the right moment. One of the metal claws snags the tag before Chrom slowly, slowly lifts the toy just enough to clear over the other toys. A precise jolt of the joystick flings the prize right into the corner hatch.
“Here.”
Triumphant, the blue-haired teen holds up a snake plush.
“Do you want to try too? I can answer for your turn since you were gracious enough to provide mine.”
just a glance at her phone strap had caused a blush to run across her face; she thought that she had grabbed her new bag, the one without a hole in the bottom. that thought had been completely shut down just by a simple robotic mewl.
“wh – what!? no, that … that isn’t mine!” she did want it back, though… “here, give it to me –” ryouko quickly snatched the kitty out of his hands and held it in a fist, “i – i think the girl in front of me dropped it, i’ll take it to her.” of course, the blush on her cheeks became more prominent, most likely making her lie seem more unbelievable.
Chrom wasn’t usually one to prod but the girl’s actions seemed questionably contrary.
“Are you sure it’s not yours? I mean, your acquaintance would probably appreciate having the trinket returned but you... seem quite nervous about it.”
He offers her a smile, thinking he had everything figured out (maybe). Lissa was similar, often denying her connection to anything ‘cute’ for fear that others might immediately associate her with overly-feminine things. She often insisted she was tough, even tougher than her brother.
“It’s not bad to like cute things. If you don’t mind me saying, the cat strap complements you rather well.”

“Yeah, Blue. It suits you” He added simply, chuckling a little around the metal in his teeth. Following his eyes to the piece in question he raised a brow. Regardless of it was for him or not, the man had good taste. It was one of his more ornate works and it was definitely not on the nicer side of cheap either.
“Ah what a lucky sister to have a brother willing to buy her such nice things” He chuckled, putting down the needle point he was working on to give the man his undivided attention, realizing that there was the potential for some proper money here.
Waving off the compliment the former thief just leaned back in his stool. “Aw shucks there Blue, you flatter me. Just a local man who knows his way around a tinker or two. But I appreciate it none the less, gotta pay the bills with something right? Might as well be pretty to look at”
“Yes, of course. I can see that you’re pretty- - I meant, these are pretty. Ehrm.”
Chrom immediately slams down a couple of bills from his pocket, hoping that the purchase would be enough to distract the seller from his slip of tongue (and flaming red face). Where did that even come from? The blue-haired teen wasn’t usually so careless with his words but he must’ve gotten lost in the conversation somehow.
“I’ll... be taking this then. Thank you.”
He did not even wait for the other to properly place the jewelry in a case, just scooping the delicate piece into his hand before briskly walking away. Chrom can only hope he left enough to pay for the item, otherwise he won’t be able to sleep properly tonight. The guilt would surely eat him alive, forcing him to return a second time. And somehow, Chrom was not looking forward to that prospect.

Corrin gave a nod and fixed her hair a bit before clearing her throat before raising her arm to hold it out to the male offering a handshake and a warm welcoming smile she didn’t know what about him made her feel like she needed to let out her noble side, even if it was countered by how relaxed around basically anyone.
“It is very nice to meet you Chrom, i am Corrin, and think nothing of it i say i like to help people out so it is not a bother at all, i hope you can forgive me for being so loud like i was, surely that was unpleasant to hear.”
The extended a simple handshake, it was nothing royal nothing exquisite. She didn’t want to act like royalty it was too complicated for her still right now eventually someone would teach her like it or not, but for now no matter who it was she was to treat them normally and be normal herself.
Chrom gratefully takes her hand, leaning down to press a kiss on it as was customary in his country.
“A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Lady Corrin.”
He might be miles away from home but it would be difficult to forget the years of manners and age-old practices drilled into his head by their tutors. Although, of course, he still forgot the golden rule of introducing himself before pursuing any further course of action. Chrom can only hope Corrin didn’t mind the rudeness.
“Ah, seems like we’ve arrived. After you?”
Chrom was most definitely not making it up to Corrin. Not at all. He just so happened to be closer to the door hence he should open it and let the lady in first.

Gaius let out a low sigh, biting tight to the small piece of metal that was clenched between his teeth. Agile fingers worked with ease, tightening the small thin wires into delicate coils, holding small gems in place as he made his way down the line. It wasn’t difficult work, if anything his hands worked on autopilot out of habit and repetition, but it was tedious.
Still, the more time Gaius devoted to craft, the less his mind had time to wander… Less time to contemplate the benefits of more devious ways of earning his keep.
Finally finishing the line, he pulled the end of the metal strand from his teeth and secured the ends. With a small smile on his lips, the “repented” thief held up the ornate necklace he’d been working on, giving it a once over of approval. Years of pilfering fancy jewelry had given him an eye for it, lending itself to his craft. Placing the finished item in front of himself on the counter of his stall he dug into his bag, looking for the half-finished embroidery he’d stashed the night before, only stopping when the sound of someone approaching filled his ears. Glancing over his shoulder, green eyes scanned for whoever had stumbled upon his shop that was anything but masculine.
“… Can I help you?” He asked around the lolipop crammed between his teeth, raising a brow as he stared up at the onlooker, he looked a little young and well… Male to be admiring such a stall but he wasn’t one to judge, after all he was the one making the stuff. “Dunno if I have anything to suit your fancy there Blue” he added, commenting on the man’s rather unique hair colour.
“Blue?”
Chrom barely held back a stutter at the odd nickname. He wasn’t used to being addressed so... informally but he pressed on, particularly interested in a delicate golden necklace that reminded him of Emmeryn.
“It’s not for me. It’s for my sister.”
Well, sisters in plural but he didn’t think Lissa would appreciate some fancy hoops. Maybe a bracelet would suit his younger sister more? Or else a thin golden headband decorated by leaves and crystal blooms. Idly, Chrom reminisces about those rare afternoons they spent in the palace garden, making flower crowns and pretending like the future wasn’t as ominous as it seemed.
“These look stunning. You’re quite the talented goldsmith.”
Sasuke wasn’t normally one who played arcade games all that much, let alone rigged games designed to make you spend more money than the prize was even worth. He didn’t receive any enjoyment from those activities, however he’d been asked to meet someone near the arcade that day regarding a new photoshoot location. He’d been reluctant to go, but money was money and so he found himself hanging around the building for a while. A while turned into much longer than he anticipated, before he received a text confirming the other person had gotten held up, and needed to take a raincheck.
It was with great displeasure that Sasuke had then decided to enter the arcade, intent on visiting the food court despite the fact that he hated greasy foods. Along the way he’d been distracted, a young girl who’s face was soaked in tears because of her lost toy. Sasuke didn’t particularly like kids, however he found himself in an awkward position when she asked him if he would help her win another toy – from the crane machine, of all places.
Why he had agreed, he’d never understand. Sasuke was a man of few weaknesses, but crying children were most often something he couldn’t deny, because if he did it was even more trouble. He was compliant with her wishes, and while he struggled to win the requested snake toy from the machine, he’d gotten caught up in the allure of the game, his competitive nature sparked.
“Shut up,” Sasuke grumbled angrily when a voice broke through his concentration, offering advice and nothing more. Despite his rude response, the next time the crane set up Sasuke did attempt to follow the other’s advice – with much more success that he had managed on his own. The crane latched on to the tag, however once the crane reached full height it fell from the grasp, slipping off at the last moment.
Turning an annoyed gaze towards the other male, Sasuke regarded him with a high degree of judgement in his eyes. However, weighing his options quickly, the raven haired male decided it was in his best interest to listen to the other, further.
“…Almost had it.” He said, inviting more conversation with a slightly less harsh tone while he turned his gaze back to the game.
Chrom merely offered a slightly uneasy smile. Despite those harsh words, the kid still listened to his advice so he can’t really be all that bad. Abrasive maybe, but Chrom has had his share of dealing with caustic individuals. The royal court used to be filled with all manner of people, most of whom were like sharks who grinned with false politeness before diving in for the kill at the first scent of blood. At least this kid had the gall to be truthful, more or less.
“You need to snag the tag on the opposite end. It also helps to know which direction the item is facing so you can nudge it towards the hatch with more accuracy.”
“I can show how it’s done if you want.”

“ excuse me. ” annabeth spoke up softly, not wanting to disrupt anyone in the library, but needing to get the other’s attention. a book was being held in her out stretched hand, not one that she needs, which was why she was offering it back to the other male.
“ you dropped this a moment ago, figured you might need it. ”
Chrom froze in his steps. So much for hoping that the damned book won’t make it back to him even if he ‘accidentally’ dropped it.
“Oh, er, yeah. Thanks.”
The blue-haired teen takes the book, frowning at the heavyset title ‘Intricacies and Intimacies of World Economics’. It was a required reading for class but Chrom had little success in understanding a single word. And he was supposed to do a damn report this week too.
“I hope I’m not overstepping certain boundaries but... can you help me with this? I’ve been trying to understand certain concepts but nothing’s making sense.”
Some more Fire Emblem Awakening doodles on 3DS! (I’m obsessed with this game.)

“Pardon me but is this yours?”
Chrom holds out a fuzzy kitty phone strap with sparkling pink gems for eyes. The tiny object was smothered in glitter and smelled faintly of strawberries. What’s more, it let out the faintest mechanized mewl as its tail swished to and fro.
“I think it fell out of your bag.”
@gekiido
Chrom steps out of the convenience store, feeling happier than he had been for weeks. The weather finally cleared up, giving them plenty of blue skies and bright sun for days. He also stumbled upon a new favorite snack that reminded him of the egg tarts that Emmeryn baked for him and Lissa during special occasions.
Problem was the stuff was hard to find in the city so the blue-haired teen hoarded it whenever he could. Chrom knew it was a terrible thing to do but few things here reminded him of home.
“Is there something I can help you with?”
Chrom blinks at the stranger giving him an odd look. Was it just him or was the guy glaring at his pudding cup?
